It's the Number One Contender, Lex Luger, facing off against the WWF Champion Bret Hart in TAG TEAM ACTION! In Bret's corner? None other than his brother Owen Hart and in Luger's corner, that weasel Jerry The King Lawler! It's bound to be an exciting bout that you folks won't want to miss!

Damien Demento VS. Jim Duggan


 

The show got off to an interesting open as the strange and mysterious Damien Demento faced off against good old reliable Jim Duggan. Whilst Jim put up a good fight and had the backing of the WWF fanbase behind him to fuel his unrelenting energy, the unorthodox style of Damien was one that Jim was unprepared to face against. Damien would eventually manage to pull the upset over Duggan and pick up the victory to kick off this edition of Monday Night Raw to the shock of many of the fans in attendance and watching at home.

I'm sure they will all put up a fight and for a matter of fact I HOPE THAT'S WHAT THEY DO...Because what better way to showcase the pure, unmatched POWER OF MY YOKOZUNA...than to stand back in awe...as twenty nine other men...shall be DESTROYED!

Rick Martel VS. Virgil


 

One particular criticism that writer's at publications such as the Observer might be that Monday Night Raw is home to some...short matches in it's infancy right now. This...this is one of those matches. To say that Rick Martel squashed, dominated, humiliated, put away, destroyed, obliterated Virgil? Would all be appropriate descriptors for exactly how this match went down. However, it certainly was a very impressive showing and those very same writers that criticise the WWF for their short matches, might instead see this as a way to try and showcase Rick Martel as a member of their roster as his sublime technical wrestling could not be denied in this otherwise popcorn match

Meanwhile Backstage...


 

It seems that chaos had erupted in the men's locker room whilst the action was going on in ring. Ric Flair and Mr. Perfect who have been having back and forth encounters over the past couple weeks had finally gotten into the same room at the same time and a shouting match had occurred between the two, which quickly erupted into a locker room brawl! Whilst the other wrestlers in the locker room stepped aside and some even cheered the fight on, security was trying to rush in as Ric Flair BASHED Perfect's face against one of the locker room doors! The security managed to break through the other wrestlers and pull Ric Flair away from a downed Perfect. Dragging Flair away kicking and screaming that he wasn't done with Perfect yet. Not by a long shot...

Bam Bam Bigelow VS. Typhoon


 

An impressive big man match that sadly didn't win over the crowd the way that the WWF might not have hoped. Bam Bam and Typhoon, both surprisingly athletic men for their size and stature collided against one another in a competitive and surprisingly speedy paced match, where the two would charge against one another and collide and criss cross against the ropes. Unfortunately, whether it was a case of the personalities in the ring, or the fans not used to this style of big man match from the WWF, it didn't garner the reaction that it could have. Still a good match for Monday Night Raw and a good win for Bam Bam, giving him some much needed momentum.

As Bam Bam was celebrating his victory, Big Bossman would charge the ring with his nightstick in hand and finally get to enact some sort of revenge as he CLOBBERED Bam Bam Bigelow in the back of the head with his nightstick, knocking him clean out cold and flat out on the mat. Bossman felt no need to add any further insult to injury, simply yelling at the fallen Bam Bam, words which could not be picked up by the microphone. Although this minor victory can go to Bossman, it seems inevitable that another match between these two men lays in waiting

The Heartbreak Kid, The Intercontinental Champion, Shawn Michaels does his usual dance to the ring, with his manager Sensational Sherri not far behind him, carrying his championship belt for him as he primps and poses for some of the women in the front row who are trying to reach out and grab him, their hopes for a moment with the Heartbreak Kid are dashed by Sherri who steps in the way and shouts them down, threatening to slap them silly before motioning for Shawn what they were coming out to address, pointing right down the rampway towards the ring and specifically, towards the commentary table. Shawn nods with a devilish grin on his face and makes his way right around the ring, clearly not intending to enter it, but instead, grabbing a microphone from a ring hand...and standing right in front of the commentary table as his music fades out...

Hey Randy...I like your desk, looks very snug, it looks very cozy...let's admit it...it looks...it looks like home for you...doesn't it? I certainly hope that you're comfortable there Randy because from where I'm standing? I don't see you stepping away from this table for a long...long...LONG time...see, from where I'm standing? That ring...that ring right behind me? You remember that ring don't you? I hope so...that ring? That ring is MY HOME, it's where I thrive, it's where I succeed...it's where whether these people love me, or whether they hate me...I put on a show that they will never EVER FORGET And why? BECAUSE I CAN!

AND YOU? You used to be able to do that too didn't you? And I've been hearing through the grapevine, that you've been wanting to do it again...ever since our little encounter at The Heartbreak Hotel I've been hearing. "Randy wants a match with you Shawn. Just one more match Shawn. WHY DON'T YOU GIVE IT TO HIM SHAWN?!" And you know something? I'm real tempted. I am Randy. I was this close...when I saw you last week, filled with rage, red in the face, your eyes wide and wild begging, pleading with Jack Tunney...to give you the match with me. I almost felt like going to see Jack Tunney myself and telling him "You know what...sign it"

Randy jumps up from the commentary table, finally having enough with Shawn's prodding, throwing his headset to the ground, red faced and wild eyed

Randy...did you even read your contract when you agreed to become a commentator? Last time I checked, commentators are supposed to be impartial, commentators are not supposed to agitate, threaten, interfere...or insult the in ring talent. Now if I heard you correctly Randy...I believe you just insulted me. Is that what you did Randy? Should I go to Jack Tunney and file a complaint about one of his commentators insulting the in ring talent? Because I could easily do that and make sure you never appear on a WWF show ever again!

The fans couldn't help but look on in shock, as for the first time ever. The Macho Man Randy Savage...let me repeat that...THE MACHO MAN RANDY SAVAGE...fell silent. His anger was clear, his frustration was reaching boiling point and then the mention of going away forever was brought up and suddenly...silence.

That's what I thought...now before you rudely interrupted. I was explaining why I'm NOT going to be letting you have that match you so CLEARLY desperately need! Trust me Randy. I wanted it too. I did! But when that temptation was creeping and crawling through my heart, it was temptation for a match I know I would never have...a match with the OLD Randy Savage...a match with the REAL Randy Savage. Not this jumped up imposter sat behind a commentary desk with an earpiece on his head, looking like a fool every Monday Night! Facing you? That would be bad for my image...bad for MY career. You think I want to stop here? At the Intercontinental Championship? No,no, no sunshine...I want to get to the top of the mountain...and facing you...in your current state? That would only pull me back down and brother? I was pulled down by people like you for far too long when you were in your prime...I won't let it happen now that you've faded away.

No...instead, what YOU are gonna do is sit there LIKE A GOOD LITTLE COMMENTATOR and you're gonna call a match next week. A match that will decide MY NUMBER ONE CONTENDER for the Royal Rumble...and then...at the Royal Rumble? You'll sit there again, LIKE A GOOD LITTLE COMMENTATOR...and call MY MATCH, where I WILL DEFEND MY CHAMPIONSHIP And then? LIKE A GOOD LITTLE COMMENTATOR...You'll sit there week...after week...after week...wishing...praying...begging...until I won't even acknowledge you any more. I'll have moved on to bigger and better things than YOU Randy...but like a good little commentator...you'll just sit there...call matches...and wither away into obscurity. What a fitting end to your career huh? NOT WITH A BANG...but with a whimper!

MAIN EVENT
Bret Hart and Owen Hart VS. Lex Luger and Jerry Lawler

 VS. 

It was tag team action that brought Monday Night Raw to an end this week as Bret and Lex Luger stepped in a ring together for the first time since Luger was crowned the number one contender. It was, as promised the match of the night as the crowd got excited to see these two face off but it seemed that any time that Luger found himself facing down against Bret, he would tag out to Jerry Lawler and keep the fans waiting for the momentous occasion. The KJing and Luger would take advantage when the smaller of the Hart's was tagged in and pinpoint their attacks on him, dragging him away from tags to Bret, double teaming on him when the opportunity risen and even taking cheap shots from the apron when they could get away with it. While the back and forth tag team action was exciting and anybody could have walked away. Lawler would walk around the ring and knock Bret off the apron as Lex got Owen locked into a torture rack to pick up the win
