Jim Ross & Shane McMahon

Gate-$360 640"Shane that was big announcement of yours on Raw a few days ago. Tenzan & Kojima being in the tag team contenders tournament, is going to be something that the WWF fans are going to love!" Kevin Kelly enthusiastically exclaims.
"I agree! I think my father is a genius but his focus can be a little America-centric at times. I mean he agreed to my original idea of them fighting the Headbangers in Ohio Valley Wrestling and he gets credit for seeing the value in that but it's me who arranged everything.......and yeah I then went and subtly altered their contract to include more dates, because he's too busy to take the time to see how TenCozy wrestling against our best tag teams on Raw will benefit them, improve our television product and improve our financial bottom line." Replies Shane, in a tone that's halfway between being smug and showing genuine excitement at the potential of his idea.
"X-Pac is still the European Champion but Kane took gold away from D-X and became the NEW Hardcore champion on Raw last monday Shane." Kelly states the facts.
"Well I predict a NEW European Champion will be crowned tonight, so that's another D-X title loss and as far as Kane goes, what can you say? The Big Red Machine gets us results! We pointed him at Road Dogg and he tore that loudmouth apart!" Shane laughs as he says this.
"Well there are obviously other titles in the WWF and with the Rumble fast approaching, will the Rock be defending his title at the event?" Kelly enquires.
Shane smirks. "Well we are going to have an announcement about that on Raw and before you ask, we'll also have an Intercontinental Contenders battle royale with 4 wrestlers in it and again before you ask....Shane Douglas will NOT be a part of it."
"May I ask why?" Kelly says, despite looking like he likely already knows the answer.
"Well first of all he's been nothing but trouble, showing the McMahon family and our fine Corporation nothing but disrespect and secondly he LOST to Mankind! Why would we give him a shot at any title, after proving he's a loser!" Shane indignantly responds.
It's now Kevin Kelly's time to smirk, though he hides it fairly well. "So if Shane Douglas losing that match, kills off whatever chance he had to go for the Intercontinental Title, then it means that you're surely going to name Mankind, the winner of that match, as the Rock's challenger for the Royal Rumble!"
"Nobody likes a smartass Todd! Pick another topic" Shane says with a scowl apparent.
Eager to get Shane's thoughts on the other major happenings recently, Kelly moves on by asking about the major return at the last Raw. "So The British Bulldog is now BACK in the WWF! What are your thoughts Shane and have you thought perhaps about convincing him to join the Corporation?"
"Apparently he's already spoken for but I have no problems with the guy! He's a top competitor and he's going to be a threat for the Rumble and he had Austin beat, before that idiot Sid showed up!" said Shane, shifting from a disappointed to an annoyed tone of voice.
"About Sid, does....does he even have a contract? Is he just showing up to cause chaos? Is he being controlled? What can you do about him?" Even though he's a commentator you can't blame Kevin Kelly for sounding worried here about the unpredictable and unstable Sid.
Shane sighs and takes a moment. "Look.....we have no clue what the deal with Sid is but we will have extra security put in place, so it doesn't matter if you're anyone from The Rock...all the way down to idiots like Shane Douglas and Steve Austin, you WILL be protected from that psycho!"

Opening Match: Steve Blackman vs Test
vs
We are treated to a fairly even contest, with Test using his height and reach advantage to great effect but Blackman was hitting more effectively. A big boot was attempted but Blackman ducked and then connected with a kick to the back of Test's knee. This was then the pattern for the rest of the match, with Blackman solely focusing on taking out the bigger man's knees. It paid off when Test picked him up for a pumphandle slam and his knees gave out on him. Blackman may not have gotten the win off the ensuing cover but he did very soon after, when he hit a rising Test with a pump kick and then transitioned into a guillotine choke on the ground.

A video starts to play of 'Real Man's Man' Steven Regal .
"I work harder and longer each day, than any of those lazy fans out there work in a whole year! The same goes for every man out there that calls himself a WWF wrestler. You are all weak! You are all lazy! From now on, I will dedicate my career to proving that there is nobody out there that can compare to a real man's man! This will start on this coming Sunday Night Heat! I will be taking on some nobody called Al Snow and he will be the first victim of my real man's crusade for respect for the true working man!"

Match 2: The Brood w/Gangrel vs D.O.A
vs
The odd bit of cheating from Gangrel, plus the quickness of Edge and Christian, led to a difficult encounter for the bikers. Stereo boots downed both their opponents but Gangrel distracted them long enough, to negate any advantage. Eventually the considerable strength advantage looked like it was telling and the bikers looked to finish Christian off with a double chokeslam, however Edge appears out of nowhere and spears Skull and the two go tumbling out of the ring. The referee is checking on them and misses Christian scoring with a low blow on 8Ball, before rolling him up. The referee counts to 3 and the Brood have the first win that may set them on a road towards justifying their lofty goals of total destruction!

Kai En Tai are backstage with Michael Cole. Cole proceeds to set the scene for us.
"I am here with Kai En Tai and they have requested time to make an annoucement. What do you have to say guys?"
"私たちはアメリカ人を倒す準備ができています!私たちは彼らを恐れません!" Taka Michinoku exclaims with a confident tone.Main Event-WWF European Title: X-Pac (c) vs Owen Hart
A puzzled Cole presses on. "What are your plans for the match and are you excited to potentially face the IWGP tag team champions? Your own countrymen!"
"TenCozyと対峙することは非常に光栄です。私たちが彼らを倒すとき、それはさらに大きな名誉になるでしょう!" says Funkai, with a slightly smug look on his face.
Cole's face is reading, like he is thinking....'What the hell do I do here?' but he's at least picked up on their confidence and decides to ask a question based on that. "Why do you guys seem so confident?"
"秘密兵器があります!" The 3 Japanese men then share a knowing smile, before leaving the scene and a puzzled Michael Cole behind.

vs
Both men have won their fair share of titles. Owen might be 7 years older but that does mean he has more experience and you could say wrestling is in his blood. However X-Pac is quicker and the experience advantage of his opponent is somewhat negated, if he's having to move quicker than he can think up a counter. X-Pac goes to the top and looks to hit a big move but Owen shakes the ropes and the European champion crotches himself on the top rope. Owen then gets up on the second rope and hits an impressive jumping ddt that gets the crowd a little worried for the D-X member's championship reign. However, perhaps foolishly, Owen does not go for a cover and instead starts to stomp on and kick at the downed X-Pac's legs. Locking in the sharpshooter, it's clear the champion is in pain but he's just close enough to the ropes to break the count. Hobbling a little, the champion gets back to his feet, the challenger smirking and sensing blood....then BAM! spinning heel kick takes Owen down. Of course X-Pac is exhausted and he slumps against the ropes, unable to make a cover. Owen has had enough and he slips outside and grabs the European title. The referee is quickly outside and trying to take the title off him, with Owen arguing that he's the greatest European champion that there has ever been and it's his right to use the title as he sees fit! This is of course a smokescreen for Jeff Jarrett to slip in with a guitar....however the Degenerate sees him coming and hits another spinning heel kick. Owen is back in and attempts to catch the champion off guard with a bridging northern lights suplex but X-Pac kicks out. They both start to rise and Owen goes for it again....small package......but it's reversed......and reversed again and Owen has the ropes! However the referee sees the attempt to steal the win! It's here where Owen makes his fatal mistake, in arguing with the referee and turns around.........superkick! "Shades of Shawn Michaels there Shane!" exclaims Kevin Kelly. "Please don't give that egomaniac free publicity Todd..." Shane says, shaking his head. Anyway Owen falls back against the ropes and staggers forward into the X-Factor and the champion retains!
