Backlash 2022
Date: 8/5/22
Location: Dunkin’ Donuts Center, Providence, Rhode Island
Pre-Show:
John Morrison vs Austin Theory w/The Miz
(With the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal already on his resume, Austin Theory makes his official main roster debut on the Raw after WrestleMania 38, squashing an enhancement talent and doing his now trademark post match selfie. This squash victory manages to earn the attention of none other than The Miz, who decides to take Theory under his wing. Over the next several weeks, Theory squashes the likes of R-Truth and Akira Tozawa. Following the squash win over Tozawa, Theory performs a post match beatdown with some more selfies, before John Morrison runs down to make the save. Morrison blasts Theory for his arrogance, thinking he's entitled to greatness because he’s Miz’s protégé, when he's just padding his stats against those who he knows he'll run right through, so how about he faces an actual challenge for once. Theory goes to Adam Pearce to request the match so he can put The Guru of Greatness in his place. Theory scores the upset win over Morrison by getting his knees up on Starship Pain and hitting the ATL to claim a huge scalp.)
Main Show:
Cody Rhodes vs Seth Rollins
(On the post-Mania SmackDown, Cody Rhodes cuts the same promo that he cut in real life. He talks about his father, Dusty Rhodes, and say how he wants to make his dad proud by winning that same big gold belt that he did all those years ago, because he wants to be the one who dethrones Roman Reigns for the World Heavyweight Championship. He’s interrupted by Seth Rollins, who is still livid following his defeat to Cody at WrestleMania, but instead of attacking him, Seth just comes down to the ring to shake Cody's hand. The following week, Rollins lays down the challenge for a rematch against Cody, saying that Cody had an unfair advantage over him at WrestleMania, and that he didn't know he was going to being facing The American Nightmare. Cody eventually accepts Seth’s challenge. Same match as in real life as well, with Cody winning with a roll-up and further frustrating The Visionary.)
Two-out-of-Three Falls Match for the Raw Tag Team Championship:
RK-Bro (c) vs Alpha Academy (Chad Gable & Drew Gulak) w/Otis (2-1)
(Alpha Academy defeat The New Day and Los Lotharios and The New Day in a triple threat match a week a week after WrestleMania to become number one contenders to RK-Bro’s Raw Tag Team Championships. Over the next several weeks, both teams compete in "Academic Challenges" set up by AA to determine the stipulation for the match, with RK-Bro winning the majority of those, allowing them to pick the stipulation. Randy Orton & Matt Riddle choose a Two out of Three Falls Match, because in their minds, the Academic Challenges were just a glorified version of that, and seeing as they've beaten Alpha Academy in a best of three series, why not make it two this time. Chad Gable says that Orton & Riddle made a big mistake choosing two out of three falls, because they scored fluke wins in those series of challenge, but they are the far superior team on the mat, and they'll prove it when they become Raw Tag Team Championships. The Viper suffers a back injury in this match that puts him out indefinitely.)
Lumberjack Match:
Drew McIntyre vs Sami Zayn
(With his embarrassing WrestleMania loss to Johnny Knoxville now behind him, Sami Zayn begins feuding with Drew McIntyre. Both men face off in match on the SmackDown after Wrestlemania, which McIntyre ends up winning by count-out due to Zayn running away. Over the next couple of weeks, Drew keeps chasing Sami around backstage and all around arenas, with Sami always managing to stay one step ahead. Eventually, McIntyre becomes sick of Zayn running away like a coward and goes to Sonya Deville (under review by the board of directors due to a few questionable decisions as of late) to request a match with Zayn at Backlash so he can tear that little weasel limb from limb. Deville accepts McIntyre’s request and says it’ll be a Lumberjack Match to ensure a far contest. Before both men make their entrances for this match, Zayn pays a visit to Roman Reigns in the locker room, with Reigns preparing to defend his World Heavyweight Championship against EC3 later on in the night. Zayn acknowledges Roman and says there is no dispute that Roman is The Head of the Table, but he caught Drew McIntyre saying very disrespectful things about Reigns and his entire family, because he has a proposal for Roman, his reputation has plummeted lately, and it's to the point where people think he's afraid of McIntyre, but he needs to prove that he can beat McIntyre and regain his credibility, so if there was a way that Roman could give him some help with that, he would be more than happy to help out in return, because he could be a very valuable ally of him, because he acknowledges Roman. As The Master Strategist leaves, Reigns says he won’t stand for anyone running their mouth about him, so he tells The Usos to take his name out of Drew’s mouth. This leads to The Usos becoming Lumberjacks in the match. Jimmy and Jey’s presence pays off, as they assist Zayn by laying out The Celtic Colossus with a double superkick and allow Zayn to get the win. Drew gets his revenge 5 day later as he defeats Zayn in a Steel Cage Match on SmackDown.)
Elias vs Bobby Lashley w/The Hurt Business (by Technical Submission)
(On the Raw after WrestleMania, Bobby Lashley makes quick work of Mustafa Ali. The Hurt Business attack Ali after the match, until Elias' music hits, with The Drifter making his first appearance in 8 months. The Hurt Business think Elias is going to assist them in their beatdown of Ali, but Elias turns face and hits MVP with his guitar. Elias then sidesteps an incoming Spear from Lashley and hits The Almighty with a Drift Away, then takes out Shelton Benjamin and Cedric Alexander, sending THB into retreat. Elias explains his action the following week, saying that ever since The Hurt Business' inception, he's seen that they're nothing but a bunch of bullies, so he had to knock them down a peg or 2 and the best way to shut up The Hurt Business is by silencing the leader. Elias requests a match with MVP at Backlash, but MVP responds that his in ring days are behind him, so if Elias wants to act like an uncaged animal, he can face off against The Almighty instead. Interference by The Hurt Business allows Lashley to make Elias pass out in The Hurt Lock. After the match, The Hurt Business beat down Elias, until Mustafa Ali runs down with a steel chair to make the returning the favour for Elias.)
United States Championship:
Finn Bálor (c) vs Keith Lee w/Zelina Vega & Los Lotharios
(Following his victory at WrestleMania, Finn Bálor says he wants everyone on the Raw roster to step up and bring their A-game, because The Prince won’t be relinquishing his throne anytime soon. Zelina Vega interrupts and invokes Keith Lee’s rematch clause on her client’s behalf. Zelina says that Finn’s victory at WrestleMania was nothing short of a fluke, and Lee will tear The Prince limb from limb. At the end of the match, Los Lotharios try to interfere, but accidentally hit Lee with a double superkick. Bálor then takes out both Angel Garza and Humberto Carrillo with a double Sliingblade, then hits Lee with two Coup De Grace’s to retain the United States Championship. Following the match, Zelina berates Lee for failing to reclaim the U.S. title and slaps him, which causes Lee to become enraged. He attacks Los Lotharios and tells Zelina he quits.)
No Holds Barred Match - Damian Priest is banned from ringside :
AJ Styles vs Edge
(Following his victory over AJ Styles WrestleMania 38, Edge explains his actions, as well as his new alliance with Damian Priest. Edge he’s an honest man, he said AJ was going to face his Judgment Day in Dallas, but it’s just that the fans didn’t expect Priest to assist him in his first WrestleMania victory in 11 years. Edge says it it makes perfect sense if you stop to think about it, because for the fans, thinking is hard, but for too long, Damian Priest has been facing his inner self, just like him, he tried to be a fine upstanding role model for all of these sheep. Priest says that he's been listening to Edge for the past month, and he's taken it all in, because he was a lost soul who had to buddy up to The Mysterios just to get a spot on WrestleMania, and then hearing Edge's message, it made him realise that he was lowering himself to the standards of what the fans wanted to see, but deep down, Edge’s message was speaking directly to him, and it was so easy to make the decision to pledge his loyalty to Edge. AJ Styles interrupts and says he knew Edge didn’t have the guts to fight fair, so he wants a rematch, and he wants it to be No Holds Barred so he can make Edge regret his actions. Styles defeats Priest on the go-home episode of Raw to get him banned from ringside. This match is an all out brawl, as Edge & AJ tear into each other with anything they can get their hands on. At the end of this match, as AJ prepares to hit a Styles Clash on Edge, the theme music of NXT newcomer Joe Gacy hits. As Gacy walks down to the ring and distracts AJ, The Rated-R Superstar recovers and hits AJ with a low blow. Gacy then adds insult to injury by getting AJ up to his feet and hitting a handspring lariat he calls Upside-down World on The Phenomenal One. Gacy then Irish whips AJ into a Spear from Edge, who picks up the win. Damian Priest then comes out to assist Edge and Gacy and they beat down Styles until Finn Bálor runs down to make the save, hitting Priest with a John Woo Dropkick and dropping Gacy with a Slingblade as Judgment Day retreat up the ramp, with AJ and Finn standing tall.)
Steel Chain Match for the Raw Women’s Championship:
Alexa Bliss (c) vs Kay Lee Ray
(On the post-Mania Raw, Alexa Bliss addresses the emotional 24 hours she had before where she ended 1,567 days of never holding a title in WWE since December 2017, and now that she’s broken that four year curse, she wants to break the record for the longest reigning Raw Women's Champion in WWE history. Kay Lee Ray interrupts and invokes her rematch clause. KLR says having to pretend to be Alexa's best friend for her first 4 months in WWE was like being chained to a pathetic little leech that she couldn’t get rid of, but she’ll get rid of her permanently in their rematch, because she wants Alexa in a Steel Chain Match at Backlash. Bliss accepts, promising to leave KLR in a pool of her own blood. The match is a bloody and violent affair, with The Goddess and The Psychotic Queen of Scots using the chain to inflict all types of harm on each other. The match ends when KLR whips Bliss repeatedly with the chain and sets up for a Gory Bomb, only for Asuka to make her shocking return after almost 8 months away due to injuries that KLR had caused. Asuka gets her revenge by spraying poisonous green mist into KLR’s eyes, blinding The Psychotic Queen of Scots. As Asuka leaves, Bliss wraps the chain around KLR’s neck and makes her pass out to a chain assisted sleeper.)
Fatal-Four Way Match for the SmackDown Women’s Championship:
Liv Morgan (c) vs Becky Lynch vs Sarah Logan vs Sasha Banks
(The post-Mania SmackDown kicks off with Liv Morgan, fresh off her maiden title win at WrestleMania 38. Liv explains that she never thought she would win this title, and that someone like her was never supposed to main event WrestleMania, but she showed that she was able to go from regularly losing in The Riott Squad, to becoming Smackdown Women's Champion in the main event of WrestleMania, and that anything is possible. Sarah Logan interrupts, saying that she's extremely happy that Liv got her big WrestleMania moment, but she wants to test herself against her best friend. Becky Lynch then interrupts, furious that Liv is out here talking about her journey to WrestleMania instead of praising the woman who made her an overnight star thanks to a fluke win over her, a woman who doesn’t even get a thank you or a token of appreciation from Liv, so if Liv is going to be an ungrateful little brat, she'll just have to take the Smackdown Women's Championship back. Sasha Banks then interrupts the promo, and says that if anyone should be taking credit for Liv's rise to the top, it should be her, because had Liv not gotten that fluke win over her at Day 1, then Liv wouldn’t be on top of the world, and she will be the catalyst in her downfall. Liv says she didn't scratch and claw her way back to this title just to let 2 of the 4 silver spoon women take credit for her accomplishment, so if they all want to try and take the title from her, then they can do so at Backlash. Liv pins Becky after an Ob-Liv-Ion to retain her title.)
Falls Count Anywhere Match for the WWE Championship:
Karrion Kross (c) w/Scarlett vs Kevin Owens (by Technical Submission)
(Kevin Owens invokes his rematch clause on the Raw after WrestleMania. In the build up, Owens says he is more motivated then ever to get the WWE Championship back, and now that he knows Karrion Kross like the back of his hand, he’ll be the one to snap his 6 month undefeated streak, because he wants to bring The Herald of Doomsday down to his level, and he wants it to be Falls Count Anywhere. Kross appears on the Titantron and accepts Owens’ challenge, saying that KO just doesn't know when to quit, he almost ended his career when he punched a cinderblock over his face, he denied him victory at Royal Rumble, and he took the WWE Championship from his hands at WrestleMania 38, but if Owens thinks he can defy doomsday itself, then he is making the biggest mistake of his life, because at Backlash, he will be the judge, jury, and executioner of Kevin Owens’ fate. A brutal and bloody battle ends when KO hits Kross with a Pop-up Powerbomb through a table, but Kross kicks out. Owens then attempts a Stunner, only for Kross to push Owens into the ropes, where Scarlett smashes an hourglass over KO’s head. This allows Kross to apply the Kross Jacket, with Owens passing out and allowing Kross to retain his title.)
World Heavyweight Championship:
Roman Reigns (c) w/Paul Heyman vs EC3
(On the post-Mania Smackdown, Roman Reigns makes a ridiculously long entrance to the ring to cut an in-ring promo and address his victory over Bobby Lashley, saying that there's no one left to defeat, and that he's accomplished all that he can on this run, they’ve had to bring guys over from Raw to try and beat him, but nobody can beat him. The Tribal Chief is then cut off EC3. EC3 says he begs to differ that Roman has no one left to face, because on this nearly 2-year run as World Heavyweight Champion that Roman has been on, he has yet to face The Top One Percenter, a man who will send Roman away on that permanent vacation he's already planning on, only he won’t have the World Heavyweight Championship around his waist anymore, because it’s going to belong to E-C-3. After EC3 wins a battle royal on SmackDown a week later to become number one contender to the World Heavyweight Championship, Roman responds by claiming EC3’s overconfidence ranges on borderline arrogance, and the reason why EC3 is so overconfident, is because he's from the minor leagues of NXT, where he was a big fish in a small pond, but up here in WWE, he's a tiny goldfish in a vast ocean, The Tribal Chief's ocean, and at Backlash, EC3 will be the latest person to acknowledge The Head of the Table. In the closing moments of the match, EC3 counters a Spear from Reigns into a One Percenter, but Paul Heyman pulls the referee out of the ring. Sami Zayn then runs down and repays Reigns for The Usos helping him win his match earlier on by low-blowing EC3. Reigns then hits a second Spear on EC3 to escape with the World Heavyweight Championship. Roman then looks quizzically at Zayn, who walks up the ramp with Reigns and Heyman as Backlash goes off the air.)
Non-PPV GM Change:
13/5/22 - Sonya Deville resigns from her role as SmackDown GM after allegations of questionable decisions in her tenure, leaving Adam Pearce as the interim GM until a new one is found.

NXT UK Takeover: Hamburg
Date: 5/28/22
Location: Barclays Arena, Hamburg, Germany
British Rounds Rules Match for the NXT UK Heritage Championship:
Dave Mastiff (c) vs Mark Coffey (2-1)
(Mark Coffey defeats Noam Dar to become number one contender to the NXT UK Heritage Cup Championship. In the build up, Gallus send a message to Dave Mastiff by attacking and hospitalising his tag team partner, Jack Starz. Coffey says that the one thing that the Gallus firm has been missing throughout their tenure here in NXT UK is singles gold, and he corrects that at Mastiff’s expense when he becomes NXT UK Hertiage Champion. The Bomber says that he knows not to underestimate Mark Coffey, because Gallus are a bunch of bullies who pick on those weaker than them and don’t get their comeuppance, and in Hamburg, he puts one half of Gallus in their place.)
Dog Collar Match - Symbiosis are banned from ringside:
Wild Boar vs Eddie Dennis
(In March of 2021, Eddie Dennis forms Symbiosis with Primate and Tyson T-Bone, with the trio putting Wild Boar on the shelf for over a year after Primate turns on Boar. Boar returns a year later from an ACL injury, with his sights set solely on The Welsh Dragon. After months of feuding with Symbiosis, Wild Boar gets the chance to finally get his hands on Dennis at Takeover: Hamburg, when Johnny Saint forces Dennis to compete in a Dog Collar Match. Boar says he personally holds Dennis responsible for every bit of hell he's been through for the past year, and he's going to beat Dennis into a coma. Dennis says that Boar is a danger to society who will be promptly dealt with.)
Triple Threat Match for the NXT UK Tag Team Championship:
Moustache Mountain (c) vs Pretty Deadly vs Gallus (Joe Coffey & Wolfgang)
(After Moustache Mountain reclaim the NXT UK Tag Team Championship at Takeover: Paris, they begin regularly defending the title against the likes of Symbiosis and Die Familie, until Pretty Deadly invoke their rematch clause. Lewis Howley and Sam Stoker say that these two ruffians have already destroyed everything that the NXT UK Tag Team titles have meant to them, the belts are just being treated with not an ounce of respect that they deserve, but this can all be corrected when the two tastiest snacks in NXT UK reclaim what is rightfully theirs. Gallus also get involved, saying that they need to still prove to everyone that this is still their kingdom, because it has a been damn long time since they have held any sort of gold, so they need to rewrite that wrong in Hamburg. Moustache Mountain say that they are having the run of a lifetime, and they are going to ensure this title reign never ends, with Trent Seven in particular saying he doesn't know what he's going to do if they lose the titles. The closing moments of the match see's Seven try to cheat and hit Stoker with one of the titles, but Tyler Bate stops him from doing so. Howley then takes out Bate with a dive to the outside, allowing Stoker to roll up Seven with a handful of tights and make Pretty Deadly 2-time NXT UK Tag Team Champions. After the match, Seven tells Bate he's done and walks out on him, signalling the end Moustache Mountain.)
World of Darkness Match for the NXT UK Women's Championship:
Isla Dawn (c) vs Meiko Satomura
(After an absence of 3 months following Takeover: Paris, Meiko Satomura returns in early April and finally gets her rematch against Isla Dawn. Dawn says that we had to live under Meiko’s rule for far too long, but now, Meiko is in her world, and if she wants her title back, she'll have to face her in a World of Darkness match, because the darkness will encase Meiko, it will smother Meiko, because she won't be able to handle it. Meiko says that the mist Isla sprayed her with back in Paris was a big mistake, because now she doesn't just want to beat Isla, she wants to hurt Isla. This is the same match that aired on the 05/05/2022 episode of NXT UK, only with Dawn now winning.)
Loser Leaves NXT UK Match for the NXT UK Championship:
Ilja Dragunov (c) vs Jordan Devlin
(Following his defeat to Ilja Dragunov at Takeover: Paris, Jordan Devlin has a rematch with The Crimson Menace on the 03/03/2022 episode of NXT UK in an Empty Arena Match, with Dragunov once again prevailing. Afterwards, Devlin does some self-reflecting, saying that he's going to let everyone in on a story from his childhood, it's one of his earliest memories, he remembers his father coming up to him when he was around 3, saying "Son, you can do whatever you want to do, but whatever you do, you make sure you rise. If you want to be in The Army, go be a General, if you want to do Art, make sure you're a Picasso", now he stands as The Irish Ace, and he will not be denied of the NXT UK Championship for a 3rd time, so he's challenging Dragunov to one final match at Takeover: Hamburg, because the winds of change are blowing, and he will become NXT UK Champion. Dragunov says his worst nightmare is to see this blown up Finn Bálor clone become NXT UK Champion, so he suggests that the winner of this match becomes NXT UK Champion and the loser leaves the brand, because he wants to make sure NXT UK never see's Devlin's face again. This is the exact same match that aired on the 12/5/2022 episode of NXT UK, which includes that false finish, and Dragunov definitively winning with The Torpedo Moscow, banishing Devlin from NXT UK permanently.)

NXT Takeover: In Your House III
Date: 4/6/22
Location: Full Sail University, Winter Park, Florida
NXT North American Championship:
Bron Breakker (c) vs Santos Escobar w/Legado Del Fantasma
(Not long after Takeover: Baltimore, Legado Del Fantasma confront NXT North American Champion Bron Breakker backstage, with Santos Escobar saying to Bron that if he wants this title reign to last a while, then he should hand over the title to "El Campeon", or suffer the consequences. Bron responds to Santos, saying thanks, but no thanks, because if Escobar wants a title shot, he has to earn it the hard way. This angers LDF, who attack Bron following a match with Duke Hudson. A week later, Escobar defeats LA Knight and Nathan Frazier in a triple threat match to become number one contender. Breakler wins after Tony D’Angelo, sitting in the FSU crowd and making his unofficial debut after months of vignettes, distracts Escobar and allows him to be hit with a Spear. Bron then successfully defends the NA Championship against Kyle O’Reilly 3 nights later on NXT, a match that is KOR’s last before he heads off to have neck fusion surgery.)
Triple Threat Match for the NXT Tag Team Championship:
The Creed Brothers (c) w/Diamond Mine vs Grizzled Young Veterans w/Ava Raine vs MSK
(Following their huge win over The War Raiders in Baltimore, Zack Gibson & James Drake make it clear that they are the next in line for a shot at NXT Tag Team Championship. MSK (because in this universe, Nash Carter doesn’t do N*zi salutes and lose his job thanks to a manipulative woman like Kimber Lee) beg to differ, saying that they should be the ones who get the next title shot. Shawn Michaels then sets up a number one contenders match between both teams, only for it to end in a double count-out, leading to HBK making the match a Triple Threat. GYV employs psychological warfare in the build up by trashing The Diamond Mine Dojo. Also during this time, Roderick Strong brings in Damon Kemp to join Diamond Mine to also help The Creed Brothers train for their title defence. Gibson and Drake say that they're scared about what they're going do to those 2 water-boys, because they can't lace the boots of the GYV, who are soon to be recognised as the next NXT Tag Team Champions. MSK say that it's been 8 long months since they held the NXT Tag Team Championship, and it’s time they correct course and and take the belts back from The World's Greatest Tag Team ripoff. The Creed Brothers say that Gibson & Drake are always the bridesmaids and never the bride, they never seem to win the titles whenever they have a shot at them, and MSK’s championship window closed months ago, and at In Your House, the status quo stays intact. After the match, Nash Carter shockingly attacks Wes Lee, breaking up MSK and turning Carter heel.)
Singles Match to determine the #1 Contender to the NXT Championship:
Cameron Grimes vs Grayson Waller
(Shortly after Takeover: Baltimore. Cameron Grimes enters into a mini-feud with Grayson Waller, after Grimes interrupts Waller in a backstage interview, with both men getting into a brawl. This leads to Shawn Michaels making a match between both men at IYH, announcing that the winner will be the number one contender to the NXT Championship. Waller says that if he had a dollar for every time Grimes said "to the moon", he'd enough money to fly Grimes back to that dumpster fire in North Carolina where he came from, because he's NXT’s biggest disappointment, and after In Your House, it’ll stay that way. Grimes says Waller has a point, for the past 3 years in NXT all he has done is disappoint time and time again, but that changes at In Your House, he gets a chance to get one step closer to fulfilling what he told his Dad right before he died, become NXT Champion, so at In Your House, he will cave that low budget Miz's head in and go to the moon. Grimes gets the win after countering Waller's Rolling Stunner with a Cave In, followed by another Cave In, to become the number one contender.)
Title vs Contract Match for the NXT Women's Championship
Priscilla Kelly (c) w/Piper Niven vs Dakota Kai
(Following Dakota Kai’s return at Takeover: Baltimore, The Captain of Team Kick invokes her rematch clause for the NXT Women’s Championship at In Your House. In the buildup, Priscilla Kelly raises the stakes for the match, stating that Kai has been in NXT for 5 years, and she has done nothing but stink up the joint since she arrived, she's outstayed her welcome, so she wants Dakota to put her NXT contract on the line, because she gets to rid the NXT locker room of the cancer that is Dakota Kai, and at In Your House, after Dakota is gone, she better not let the door hit her on the way out. Kai accepts PK’s challenge to put her contract on the line, saying that she's done all there is to do in NXT, she's been NXT Women’s Champion, she’s competed in WarGames, she's even represented NXT at WrestleMania, so she has nothing left to lose, but that doesn't mean she doesn't want to kick that smug look off PK’s face and become a 2-time NXT Women's Champion. Kelly scores the win, meaning Kai is (kayfabe) fired from NXT.)
Two-out-of-Three Falls Match for the NXT Championship:
WALTER (c) w/Imperium vs Tommaso Ciampa (2-1)
(On the NXT after Takeover: Baltimore, Tommaso Ciampa addresses his return and confrontation with WALTER. Ciampa says that he wants one more match with WALTER, he needs to prove to everybody that he can defeat WALTER, because he remembers all the hell he went through to get back Goldie and javing to relinquish the title due to neck surgery, which was for the sake of his career, a career that he thought was over as the doctors said he was "living on borrowed time" if he ever came back, but that 2 and a half-year wait was worth it after all the setbacks, all the betrayals, the sacrifices, and this time, it's about conquering 1 man, because at In Your House, he's invoking his rematch clause, this is his last stand against WALTER, and he's not coming up short, because he will do everything in his power to ensure he leaves NXT In Your House as a 3-time NXT Champion. WALTER responds the following week, saying that Ciampa is resilient, he just doesn't know went to quit, and in this great sport, that goes a long way, but you can't do that when you're up against Der Ring General, you have to know when enough is enough, and for someone who keeps on clinging onto the past like Ciampa does, he's a complacent fragile old man, and if he wants to get his beloved Goldie back so bad, then he'll have to defeat Der Ring General twice in one night, because at In Your House, it will be a Two out of Three Falls match for one of the most prestigious prizes in this great sport, and he will prove why he is the superior athlete on this sacred mat. The Psycho Killer shockingly takes an early lead by scoring the first fall over WALTER with a roll-up within minutes of the match beginning, forcing Der Ring General to have to play catch up throughout the match, which he manages to succeed in doing, as WALTER overpowers Ciampa to score the next two falls to win the match and retain the NXT Championship after a 25+ minute banger inside Full Sail University. Cameron Grimes appears in the aisle after the match, motioning to WALTER that he’s coming for the title.)

Hell in a Cell 2022
Date: 19/6/22
Location: United Center, Chicago, Illinois
Hell in a Cell Match:
Cody Rhodes vs Seth Rollins
(On the SmackDown after Backlash, Cody Rhodes’ Intercontinental Championship match with Isaiah "Swerve" Scott is interrupted by Seth Rollins, who attacks Cody and hits him with a Curb Stomp on the announce table. The following week, The American Nightmare addresses Rollins’ attack, saying that Rollins has been trapped in this pandemonium purgatory of his own design for the past 6 years, and Seth is hellbent on dragging him back down to that same spot he was in for almost a decade, but if Seth wants to succeed with that mission, he's going have to kill him. Rhodes declares that he wants one more match with Rollins… inside Hell in a Cell! Rollins accepts, saying that Cody may have stolen his spotlight twice, but the decision to challenge him to a Hell in a Cell match is the biggest mistake he's ever made in his life, even worse than his ridiculous neck tattoo. On the go home episode of SmackDown, The Visionary cuts a scathing promo on Cody, saying how he wasn’t good enough during his first WWE run, which leads to a brawl between both men, with Rollins trapping Cody's right arm between the ring post and steel steps, and hitting the steps with a sledgehammer, injuring Cody's right arm in the process. Despite the injury, Cody wins with a sledgehammer shot after 20 minutes of chaos in the same marsh it was an real life. Five days later on SmackDown, as Cody gives a speech about how we will be "going away”, Rollins interrupts and appears to shake Cody’s hand, only for his offering of respect to be a ruse and attacks Cody with the same sledgehammer, further aggravating Cody’s torn pec and writing him off of TV.)
Elias & Mustafa Ali vs The Hurt Business (Bobby Lashley & Cedric Alexander) w/MVP
(Following Backlash, Elias and Mustafa Ali’s troubles with MVP and The Hurt Business continue. Elias & Ali challenge The Hurt Business to a tag team match at Hell in a Cell, which MVP accepts, saying the fact that Elias & Ali have taken beating after beating for the past few months, and are still standing, to which he'll give them credit for, but they're severely outmatched, and they need to give up for their own good. Shelton Benjamin goes down with a minor injury that sidelines him for a while, which means Bobby Lashley has to team with Cedric Alexander for this match. Elias scores the win with Drift Away on Alexander.)
Intercontinental Championship:
Isaiah "Swerve" Scott (c) w/Hit Row vs Happy Corbin w/Madcap Moss
(Happy Corbin wins a number one contenders battle royal to earn a shot at the Intercontinental Championship. In the build up, Corbin says that nobody wants to see this Wiz Khalifa reject doesn’t deserve to be Intercontinental Champion, and it’s time for someone like him to have more gold on his resume. Swerve says that’s he been a fighting champion week in and week out, night in and night out, and month in and month out, and he isn't going to let cueball take the belt away from him.)
Keith Lee & Matt Riddle vs Los Lotharios w/Zelina Vega
(Having turned babyface at Backlash, Keith Lee becomes the main target of his old stablemates, Los Lotharios. Luckily for Lee, he gains an ally in Matt Riddle, with The Original Bro offering to be Lee’s partner for this match. Zelina Vega promises that her men will humiliate Lee for walking out on them, and not only that, that giggling stoner man-child he calls a tag team partner will once again show the world why he was a failure in RK-Bro, and still is. Lee scores the win with a Spirit Bomb on Carrillo.)
SmackDown Tag Team Championship:
The Usos (c) vs EC3 & Shinsuke Nakamura
(On the SmackDown after Backlash, a visibly frustrated EC3 comes out, but something about his entrance is off. EC3 addresses the controversy surrounding his World Heavyweight Championship match with Roman Reigns at Backlash. He says he had the match won, he had Roman dead to rights, and had the World Heavyweight Championship in his grasp, but thanks to that slimy scumbag known as Paul Heyman, that weasel called Sami Zayn snuck into the ring and low-blowed him, and just like that it, he was robbed of the title. But now he wants his rematch, and if Roman Reigns doesn’t come down to the ring right now, he’ll drag him out. Paul Heyman then comes out and reveals that Roman Reigns isn't in the building, he's taking another well-deserved vacation. This enrages EC3 and he trashes the ringside area. Later on in the show, EC3 is extremely frustrated that he can't get his rematch, so he takes out his frustrations backstage on some of the lower midcard heels, despite the attempts of a sympathetic Adam Pearce to calm him down. After a squash victory over Jinder Mahal, The Usos attack EC3 until Shinsuke Nakamura runs down to make the save, leading to this match being made by Adam Pearce. Throughout the match, EC3 tags in Nakamura a little too stiff, and is more unhinged than usual. Near the end of the match, EC3 prepares to hit the One Percenter on Jey Uso, only for Roman Reigns’s music to start playing. This causes EC3 to yell for Roman to come out, distracting him in the process and allowing Jey to roll up EC3 and grab a handful of tights to retain the titles. It’s later revealed that it was Sami Zayn who helped The Usos win.)
Raw Women's Championship:
Alexa Bliss (c) vs Shayna Baszler
(With Kay Lee Ray now in her rear-view mirror, Alexa Bliss finds herself the target of Shayna Baszler. In the build up, The Queen of Spades claims that Alexa is a bad look for the Raw womenKs division, that she has no idea which personality Bliss is pretending to be, and the fact that a screwed up little girl is what's standing between her and the Raw Women's Championship is absolutely pathetic. Alexa says that no one fears Shayna anymore, no one has feared her ever since she lost the title a year ago, and that she is lingering on as a parody of herself. Bliss scores a big win over Baszler with Twisted Bliss. Following the match, both women are attacked by a returning Lacey Evans, who throws Baszler into the barricade and knocks out Bliss with the Woman’s Right.)
Six-Man Tag Team Match:
AJ Styles, Finn Bálor & Dolph Ziggler vs Judgment Day (Edge, Damian Priest & Joe Gacy)
(On the Raw after Backlash, Joe Gacy explains why he joined Judgment Day. Gacy says that in NXT, he was facing his inner self, just like Edge, and he wasn't standing out because of that, but when he amounted to little more than a enhancement talent for the old guard of NXT, the gatekeepers, to humiliate, and when he found himself looking up at the lights night after night, he began to embrace himself for who he was on the inside, and not only that, Edge reached out to him, Edge saw the uphill battle he was facing, Edge helped him find that violent side that he had locked away within in his soul, and Edge wanted him by his side. In the build up, Judgment Day defeat The Dirty Dawgs, with Edge giving Robert Roode a Conchairto, which writes Roode off of TV for neck fusion surgery. They then try to do the same to Dolph Ziggler the following week, until Finn Bálor and AJ Styles run out to make the save, which leads to a mass brawl. Sensing the hostilities between all 6 men, Adam Pearce announces a six-man tag team match. AJ says it’s cute that Edge’s new group thinks they’re the new Ministry of Darkness, when in reality, they’re a poor man’s Brood. A back and forth battle sees Edge score the win for Judgment Day after avoiding a Coup De Grace and hitting Bálor with a Spear.)
I Quit Match for the SmackDown Women’s Championship:
Liv Morgan (c) vs Becky Lynch
(Liv Morgan’s rivalry with three of the Four Horsewomen reaches it’s climax. On the SmackDown after Backlash, Sasha Banks turns face and saves Liv from a beatdown at the hands of Becky Lynch. The next week, Sasha approaches Liv backstage and apologises for everything that has happened between them over the past few months, an apology that Liv accepts. Not taking kindly to Banks’ new change of heart, Becky challenges The Boss to a number one contender’s match to the SmackDown Women’s Championship, but only if Sasha puts her career on the line. Sasha agrees and Adam Pearce reluctantly makes the match. This match ends up being Sasha’s last match in the WWE. Post match, Becky feigns a hug and savagely beats down Sasha for "betraying their horsewomen friendship", and concludes the assault with 3 Conchairtos, writing Sasha off TV permanently. The following week, Becky goes over the history between her and Sasha, criticising Sasha for her 'betrayal', saying that Sasha got what she deserved for thinking she was bigger than the WWE itself, and at Hell in a Cell, Liv Morgan will get what’s coming to her. Liv lays into Becky for her actions, saying that she's disgusted with what Becky has done, that Sasha was someone who was like a sister to Becky, and she finds it baffling that she once looked up to and aspired to be like Becky, but now she wants Becky to experience nothing but karma, because she wants to end Big Time Becks… in an I Quit Match! Both women batter each other in an all-out war all over the arena, with Liv paying homage to The Boss with a steel chair assisted Bank Statement, which causes Becky to say "I Quit!", and allows Liv to retain her title.)
Triple Threat Hell in a Cell Match for the WWE Championship:
Karrion Kross (c) w/Scarlett vs Kevin Owens vs Samoa Joe
(After coming up short at Backlash, Kevin Owens is far from finished with Karrion Kross. On an episode of Raw, KO says when he was picking the pieces of broken glass out of his face, it made him realise that if he wants to get the WWE Championship back, he’ll have to go farther than he’s ever gone before, he’ll have to walk through hell itself and kick Kross’s ass to succeed, and he won’t stop until Kross gets what’s coming to him. Samoa Joe (having recently left NXT after losing an NXT Championship match to WALTER) makes his return to Raw a week later after a year away from the red brand, with Joe staking his claim to be the next WWE Champion, saying that when he faced Kross a year, he saw fear in Kross’s eyes, he saw that same fear in Kross’s eyes when he punked him out at the Royal Rumble, because Kross fears him, he's the only guy who can break his undefeated streak, and one way or another, he’ll get that chance. A non title match between Kross and Joe ends in a No Contest after both men get into a brawl at ringside, leading to Adam Pearce making a Triple Threat Match for the WWE Championship between Kross, Owens and Joe inside Hell in a Cell. In the buildup, Kross says that he has been haunting these 2 men for a long time, because every night when they sleep, they see a demon in their dreams, a demon that is going to torture them, because he is that demon, and that's exactly what Owens and Joe are in store for at Hell in a Cell. Joe says Kross is trying too hard to be perfect, he's not focusing on what could end him, he doesn't know what Hell in a Cell is like, and that will be his undoing. KO says that Kross has been a black cloud that has hung over Raw for far too long, he’s out-stayed his welcome, and in Chicago, it'll be his honour to end the rule of that Mickey Knox reject, and to take back the WWE Championship. All 3 men go nearly 20 minutes, destroying each other with whatever weapons they can find, with the action even spilling to outside the cell as Joe suplexes Kross through the wall during the match. In the end, it's Kross who prevails after a Kross Hammer to KO with a steel chair wrapped around KO's head.)

Money in the Bank 2022
Date: 2/7/22
Location: MGM Grand Gardens Arena, Las Vegas, Nevada
Women’s Money in the Bank Ladder Match:
Rhea Ripley vs Bianca Belair vs Raquel Gonzalez vs Tegan Nox vs Becky Lynch vs Shotzi Blackheart vs Toni Storm vs Sarah Logan
(Not much story here. All eight women want to be Mrs Money in the Bank. Becky Lynch and Raquel Gonzalez come into this match as the heavy favourites to win. Shotzi Blackheart doesn’t botch several times in this match either. At the end of the match, Becky looks like she’s about to win until Rhea Ripley sets up a ladder next to Becky and begins to climb up. Becky desperately tries to push that ladder over, only for Rhea to use her foot to stop it and use the ropes to set it back up, and kick Becky off her ladder. Rhea then unhooks the briefcase to become Miss Money in the Bank.)
No Holds Barred Match:
Asuka vs Kay Lee Ray (by Submission)
(After her return at Backlash, Asuka sets her sights on Kay Lee Ray. In the build, Asuka says that KLR cost her months of her career, and while she was gone, she led Raw like the tyrant that she is, treating the women’s division like it was a dictatorship, and now that she’s back, she will reap what she sows. KLR says that Asuka is a coward, she fled Japan because she knew that one day, Raw’s Forever Champion would come there and tear down everything she built up, so she abandoned her legacy and fled to WWE, but when WWE’s greatest foreign export showed up and began writing her own legacy, becoming the second longest reigning Women’s Champion of the modern era, Asuka got "injured" and began ducking her, but she's glad Asuka has finally decided to be brave, because she's going to receive the beating of a lifetime. Asuka gets her revenge by countering a Gory Bomb and spraying green mist into KLR’s eyes, allowing The Empress of Tomorrow to apply the Asuka Lock and make The Psychotic Queen of Scots tap out for the first time in her WWE career.)
Raw Tag Team Championship:
Alpha Academy (c) (Chad Gable & Otis) w/Drew Gulak vs The Street Profits
(The Street Profits defeat The New Day and Los Lotharios in a triple threat match on Raw to become number contenders to the Raw Tag Team Championship. Chad Gable says that if The Street Profits know what's best for them, they better turn right around and leave when the bell rings, because they don't have a chance in hell of dethroning The Alpha Academy. Montez Ford & Angelo Dawkins say that they're going to slap Gable’s Napoleon complex and Otis' little t-rex arms all the way back to the Jurassic period.)
United States Championship:
Finn Bálor (c) vs Edge w/Judgement Day
(Following their six-man tag victory at Hell in a Cell, Judgement Day set their sights on Finn Bálor, with Edge wanting to become a Grand Slam winner by winning the United States Championship. Edge says that Bálor has the potential to be a force of nature in WWE with The Demon that lies deep within, but he associates himself with losers like AJ Styles, he hasn’t let it out for almost two years, and in order for Finn to come to his senses, he should hand over the title to Judgement Day. Bálor says that Edge must have taken way too many chair shots to the head over the years, because he still seems to think it's 1999, where he was cosplaying as a vampire reject, but it’s 2022, and he’s not getting his hands on his United States Championship. Damian Priest and Joe Gacy try to interfere in the match, but AJ Styles runs out to stop them. This allows Bálor to land a Coup De Grace on Edge and retain the title.)
SmackDown Tag Team Championship:
The Usos (c) vs Hit Row w/Isaiah "Swerve" Scott & B-Fab
(Hit Row defeat The Brawling Brutes, The War Raiders and The Mighty in a fatal-four way match to become number one contenders to the Smackdown Tag Team Championship. Top Dolla says that The Usos are about to go broke after they lose those titles, and they won't be able to wear those Nike’s that make them "cool and hip" anymore, so they'll have to settle for crocs. The Usos say that this is the most exposure that bargain basement Michael B Jordan and the NFL reject who's only other talent is being an uber driver, will ever receive, because their in ring skills are the colour of the money they’re after - green. Controversy occurs at the end of this match as The Usos hit Ashante "Thee" Adonis with a 1D, with the referee failing to notice that Adonis’ shoulder was up, allowing Jimmy and Jey to escape with the titles intact. Post match, Hit Row get into an argument with the referee, even shoving the referee to the ground, teasing a slow heel turn.)
Smackdown Women's Championship:
Liv Morgan (c) vs Bayley
(Bayley, now sporting red hair, returns a little earlier from her year long knee injury more earlier than she did in real life to confront Liv Morgan on an episode of SmackDown. Bayley says that if Liv wants to be considered a great Smackdown Women's Champion, she needs to get past her, someone who she's never beaten one-on-one, the same woman who's going to take her title away from her, so she better hand the title over, or else she'll end up like two of her previous best friends. Liv says that the day Bayley is her worst enemy, is the day she signed her own death warrant, because she's the one who ended the career of one of her best friends, she’s the one responsible for the woman she’s become, and she needs to do something she's never done before, beat Bayley, and finally put her in her place.)
Eight-Man Tag Team Symphony of Destruction Match:
Elias, Mustafa Ali & The New Day vs The Hurt Business
(After being victorious at Hell in a Cell, Elias challenges The Hurt Business to one final match. Initially, The Drifter requests to face MVP in his speciality, a Symphony of Destruction Match, to which MVP surprisingly accepts. However, MVP reveals that Elias will be facing the entire Hurt Business and that he has to find three other fools to join him in facing the music in Las Vegas. Elias recruits Mustafa Ali and The New Day to go to war with him. At the climax of this match, Lashley accidentally hits a Spear on MVP, with Ali adding insult to injury by hitting The Almighty with a drum. Elias finally gets his hands on MVP, hitting him over the head with his guitar and following up with Drift Away to end this rivalry.)
Triple Threat Match for the Raw Women’s Championship:
Alexa Bliss (c) vs Shayna Baszler vs Lacey Evans
(Following her return at Hell in a Cell, Lacey Evans (Still heel, but now with her new Homelander knockoff gimmick and not flip flopping between heel and face due to bad creative) addresses her actions on Raw. Lacey said she had to sit on the sidelines for far too long and watch the Raw Women’s division become a toxic cespool in her absence, but that changes now that she's back, because she's taking that Raw Women's Championship. Shayna Baszler interrupts, saying that everyone forgot Lacey even existed, when she went away on maternity leave, the wrestling world moved on and left her behind, and now she has to reinvent herself as this patriot to try and become relevant again, but it's not going to happen at her expense. Alexa Bliss then comes out and says it’s sad that Lacey went from being stuck in the 50’s to literally thinking she's some Homelander wannabe, because she doesn’t generate controversy, she generates crickets, and as for Shayna, she gave her one of the toughest fights of her life at Hell in a Cell, but she likes it when her back is against the wall, because if she has to get through both Shayna and Lacey, then so be it. The match ends when Evans knocks out Baszler with a Woman’s Right, but Bliss quickly hits Evans with a snap DDT and follows up with Twisted Bliss to retain her title.)
Men's Money in the Bank Ladder Match:
AJ Styles vs Austin Theory w/The Miz vs Matt Riddle vs Keith Lee vs Drew McIntyre vs Seth Rollins vs Ricochet vs Sami Zayn
(Not much story to this one. Seven of the eight men in this match want to be Mr Money in the Bank, except for Sami Zayn, who only wants to win it so he can prevent everyone else form cashing in on Roman Reigns. Seth Rollins and Ricochet also come into this match feuding with each other, with both men trying routinely upstage each other. John Morrison interferes in the match to cost Austin Theory as well, hitting a Flying Chuck on Theory as he’s climbing up the ladder. The match ends when Riddle hits an RKO on McIntyre off a ladder and climbs toward the briefcase, only for Zayn to shove Riddle off the ladder and unhook the briefcase himself, becoming Mr Money in the Bank.)
Last Man Standing Match for the WWE Championship:
Karrion Kross (c) vs Samoa Joe
(On the Raw after Hell in a Cell, Samoa Joe defeats Kevin Owens to earn one final match against Karrion Kross at Money in the Bank, with Adam Pearce announcing a Last Man Standing Match to serve as the big blow off. Kross guarantees that this will be the end of Samoa Joe, this is the final nail in his coffin, and at Money in the Bank, he will put him down with extreme prejudice. Joe says Kross is going to suffer, but unlike what happened in NXT, he's making sure Kross never gets back up, and he'll be the last man standing become the new WWE Champion. Scarlett is not at ringside for this match.)
Triple Threat Match for the World Heavyweight Championship:
Roman Reigns (c) w/Paul Heyman vs Shinsuke Nakamura vs Sheamus w/Pete Dunne & Ridge Holland
(On the SmackDown after Hell in a Cell, Roman Reigns returns to SmackDown. After a ridiculously long entrance, Roman gets in the ring and says that the show needs him, and now that he’s back, it’s business as usual. EC3 interrupts, reminding Roman that they have some unfinished business, insinuating that Roman hasn't been taking a 'well earned vacation', he has been sitting on his ass at home, and that if Roman has the balls, he’ll give him his rematch. Shinsuke Nakamura then interrupts, saying that initially, he was done with The Bloodline a year, but after The Usos took out Rick Boogs, he's got a renewed purpose for take Roman permanently this time. Sheamus interrupts, saying that Nakamura doesn't deserve a damn thing considering he's been irrelevant for the last six months, and EC3 is just a crybaby who got embarrassed at Backlash, because there’s only one man who deserves to face Reigns and that’s The Celtic Warrior. Eventually, Adam Pearce makes his way out to the ring, and sensing the conflict between all four men, declares that Reigns will defend his World championship in a Fatal Four Way Match at Money in the Bank. A week before the event, Sheamus faces EC3 in a match with the stipulation being that whoever loses by pinfall or submission will be removed from the aforementioned fatal four way and the match will be a triple threat. Sheamus wins thanks to interference from The Usos, which causes EC3 to snap and destroy the ringside area, tearing apart the announce table, and assaulting several WWE officials. Pearce then tells EC3 that he is suspended indefinitely for violent conduct. On the go home episode of SmackDown, Vince McMahon makes a surprise appearance to confront Pearce, saying that EC3 will be reinstated, and since he was denied his rightful rematch, he will face the winner of the MITB triple threat at SummerSlam. The Tribal Chief retains his title after a Spear on Nakamura. After the match, EC3, sporting a much darker look, comes through the crowd and attacks Roman, laying him out with a One Percenter, and hoisting up the World Heavyweight Championship as Money in the Bank draws to a close.

NXT Takeover: Pittsburgh
Date: 9/7/22
Location: PPG Paints Arena, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania
Pre-Show:
Apollo Crews vs Bronson Reed
(On the NXT after In Your House, Apollo Crews makes a shock return to NXT for the first time in 6 years, cutting basically the same promo that he did in real life, further adding that for a year, he believed himself to be Nigerian royalty, that he was being unfairly held back by management, and for a while, acknowledging his roots brought him success, but when he was relegated to Main Event week in and week out, he knew the writing was on the wall. Now that he’s back where he belongs, the second age of Apollo needs a fresh start. Bronson Reed (having turned into a monster heel since the turn of the year) begins targeting Apollo, saying he's caught up in the past, and a lot has changed in the 6 years he's spent on Raw and SmackDown masquerading as a false prince, so if he's come back to NXT to turn over a new leaf, he should just leave, because if he decides to stick around, his career will turn out worse than it was before. Reed misses a Tsunami Splash, and Crews somehow gets NXT’s Resident Thick Boi up for a Spin-Out Powerbomb to pick up a huge win.)
Main Show:
Loser Leaves NXT Match:
Tony D’Angelo vs Santos Escobar w/Legado Del Fantasma
(Heel vs heel. After failing to capture the NXT North American Championship at In Your House, Santos Escobar is pissed. On an episode of NXT, Escobar unleashes an angry tirade about how he hasn’t gotten any respect from anyone in the NXT locker room ever since he arrived 2 years ago, and that it makes him sick to his stomach that some nobody sitting on the crowd was able to cost him another opportunity for "El Campeon" to finally claim gold, because Tony D'Angelo is a dead man walking. On the same night, Legado Del Fantasma confront D’Angelo following a squash victory for the latter. D’Angelo says they got off on the wrong foot, so as a peace offering, he tries to convince LDF to let him join as an honorary member, but Santos declines, saying LDF doesn’t need D'Angelo’s presence. In the weeks proceeding, D’Angelo & Santos cost each other matches, with the final straw seeing Tony cost Santos a match with Cameron Grimes. This causes Escobar to snap and say when he looks at D’Angelo, he sees a cheap, second-rate wannabe who doesn’t deserve to be in NXT, and that the brand isn’t big enough for the both of them. Santos proposes one final match, where if Santos wins, D'Angelo is gone for good, but if The Don of NXT wins, then Santos is gone from NXT. D’Angelo accepts, saying nothing else will give him more satisfaction than seeing Santos Escobar gone from NXT permanently. Following Escobar’s loss, LDF are left leaderless. Two nights later, Escobar shows up in an SUV outside Full Sail University. telling them "You didn't think I was going to leave without you? Get in". LDF hops in the SUV and join Santos on his journey to the main roster.)
Wes Lee vs Nash Carter
(MSK implode! Following his heel turn at In Your House, Nash Carter explains his actions on NXT. ZNash says that everybody saw Wes as the star of MSK, everyone thought he was just riding Wes's coattails, because it's always Wes Lee this, and Wes Lee that, and he's had enough of it, so whether or not the fans like it, he's taking his career back into his hands. Wes returns the following week and challenges him to a match at Takeover: Pittsburgh. Wes says that Nash was like a brother to him, they've been teaming with each other for 7 years, he put them first instead of him, but Nash couldn't handle being outshined, so he decided to throw 7 good years away, and he's going to inflict a world of hurt on Nash. After Nash picks up the win, he places a steel chair around Wes’s neck, and pushes him into the ring post, writing Wes off TV for a while.)
NXT North American Championship:
Bron Breakker (c) vs Carmelo Hayes w/Trick Williams (by Submission)
(Following his battle with Santos Escobar at In Your House, Bron Breakker moves on to Carmelo Hayes, a man whom Bron eliminated from the NXT Championship tournament a year ago. Hayes says it's been 3 months since he got screwed out of the title that he elevated, a title he made "The A Championship" on NXT, and ever since Steiner junior stole that championship from him, he hasn't even scratched the surface of the success that he accomplished as North American Champion, and in Pittsburgh, he takes his title back, cause Melo don't miss. Bron says that while Hayes has been sitting in the back liking photos of Instagram models, he's been putting in the work as North American Champion, he’s been beating the best of the best and earning their respect, and in Pittsburgh, that work continues. Bron wins after making Hayes tap out to The Steiner Recliner. This is Hayes’ last match in NXT before he is called up to the main roster.)
NXT Tag Team Championship - with Ivy Nile as the guest referee:
The Creed Brothers (c) vs Diamond Mine (Roderick Strong & Damon Kemp)
(Following their successful title defence at In Your House, The Creed Brothers are still on shaky terms with Roderick Strong, who is still as strict as ever with them. After Diamond Mine loses a 6-man tag to Nathan Frazer, A-Kid and KUSHIDA, this leads to Roddy losing his cool backstage and getting an NXT Tag Team Championship Match set up between himself & Damon Kemp and The Creed Brothers to determine who the best tag team in Diamond Mine is, with Ivy Nile being made the special guest referee.)
NXT Women's Championship:
Priscilla Kelly (c) w/Piper Niven vs Roxanne Perez w/Cora Jade
(After ridding NXT of Dakota Kai, a number one contenders tournament is set up to determine who will challenge Priscilla Kelly for her NXT Women's Championship at Takeover: Pittsburgh. Initially, Cora Jade makes it to the semi-finals of the tournament after scoring wins over Ivy Nile and Nikkita Lyons, where she unfortunately suffers an ankle injury before her match with Blair Davenport, that forces her to have to withdraw from the tournament, leaving her spot in the finals open. This leads to Roxanne Perez (who debuted in May and quickly formed an alliance with Jade) takes her place in the finals of the tournament, where she scores a shock win over Davenport to become #1 contender to the NXT Women's Championship. Despite being a last minute replacement, Roxanne says that she knows she can restore the title to the honour and prestige that previous title holders brought to it, because someone like PK is just dragging that title through the mud, and that comes to an end in Pittsburgh. PK says that nobody cares that if she knows how to be an honourable champion, just because she learned how to be one in a dying promotion that cut her loose because she just wasn’t good enough, all that matters is what happens in the ring, and what will happen at Takeover: Pittsburgh is her walking out still NXT Women's Champion, because this title is staying around the waist of The Toxic Attraction of NXT. At the beginning of the show, Perez is found attacked in the parking lot, and nobody knows who did it. Jade is later interviewed backstage and accuses PK and Piper Niven of being the culprits. PK responds later on and denies any involvement in the attack. As PK makes her entrance to the ring and instructs the referee to begin counting to 10 to allow her a win via forfeit, the count is cut off by a visibly inured Perez, who limps out and insists the match go ahead, despite Jade’s pleas. PK constantly remains 1 step ahead throughout the match, until a small glimmer of hope allows Roxanne a chance to fight back, She hits PK with a Codebreaker that causes PK to roll outside the ring, with Roxanne following up with a suicide dive. But as Roxanne then rolls PK back into the ring, Niven begins to distract the referee. Jade grabs a kendo stick from underneath the ring and whacks Perez’s injured back with it, turning heel. PK then hits a PK Driver on Perez to retain the NXT Women's Championship. After the match, Jade gets in the ring with her skateboard, and tells Roxanne "You're pathetic. I made you. I brought you here and this is what you do. You're selfish". Jade then lifts up her skateboard (which doesn't comically break) and breaks it on the back of Roxanne, cementing her heel turn.)
NXT Championship:
WALTER (c) w/Imperium vs Cameron Grimes
(With Tommaso Ciampa now firmly in his rear-view mirrors WALTER moves on to his next challenger - Cameron Grimes. WALTER says a match of this magnitude is a long time coming for Grimes, he's worked his way up from jerking the curtain to competing for the most valuable prize in this great sport, the NXT Championship, because he has everything to gain and nothing to lose, but at Takeover: Pittsburgh, he becomes just another casualty in the title reign of Der Ring General on this sacred mat. Grimes says it may seem like he has nothing to lose, but for WALTER, it's just another title defence, he's the longest reigning NXT UK Champion of all time, he’s a man who takes himself so seriously, but someone like him decided to put all his chips in the middle and decided to go all in on the NXT Championship, and now it's all or nothing, no backup plan, but he guarantees that will become NXT Champion and go To. The. MOON! Despite a gutsy performance from Grimes, WALTER gets the win after countering a Cave In with a Powerbomb, following up a series of more Powerbombs to retain his title. After the match, as WALTER is celebrates in the ring with Imperium, his music is cut off by a very familiar theme, one which belong to Jordan Devlin (Not JD McDonagh). The Irish Ace (now a tweener), gets in the ring and squares off with WALTER, warning him that he’s coming for the NXT Championship.)

NXT UK Takeover: Blackpool III
Date: 23/7/22
Location: Empress Ballroom, Blackpool, England
Note:
(On the 07/07/2022 episode of NXT UK, Ilja Dragunov suffers a foot injury during a successful defence of the NXT UK Championship against Wolfgang. The following week, Dragunov vacates the NXT UK Championship to said aforementioned injury. Johnny Saint sets up an 8-man tournament to crown a new champion.)
NXT UK Championship Tournament Semi-Final Match:
Dave Mastiff w/Jack Starz vs Trent Seven
(Following the title being vacated, the tournament begins. NXT UK Heritage Champion Dave Mastiff defeats Charlie Dempsey to progress past the quarter-finals, whilst Trent Seven (who is now a heel, more on that later) makes it past Wolfgang to make it to the semi-finals. Seven wins after hitting The Bomber with two Seven Stars Lariats.)
NXT UK Championship Tournament Semi-Final Match:
Tyler Bate vs Joe Coffey
(Over on the other side of the bracket, inaugural NXT UK Champion Tyler Bate defeats Noam Dar to get to the semi-finals, whilst Joe Coffey gets through Mark Andrews to set up a showdown with the Big Strong Boi.)
NXT UK Tag Team Championship:
Pretty Deadly (c) vs Grizzled Young Veterans w/Ava Raine
(Heels vs heels. After reclaiming the NXT UK Tag Team Championship from Moustache Mountain at Takeover: Hamburg, Pretty Deadly say that now that the titles are where they belong, you can expect more dominance from the 2 tastiest snacks in NXT UK. Former NXT UK Tag Team Champions, the Grizzled Young Veterans, surprisingly interrupt, saying that they've been waiting almost 2 long years to get a fair shot at gold, gold that they made relevant, because these two 2 delusional bell-ends aren’t bringing class to those titles, they dragging them through the mud, and they won't allow that to happen again, because they’re back to complete the circle and become two time NXT UK Tag Team Champions. Pretty Deadly says that Zack Gibson and James Drake just can't cut it over in America, so they've stumbled all the way back across the Atlantic to foolishly try and dethrone the greatest tag team in NXT UK history. The GYV look to have the match won as they set up Sam Stoker for a Ticket to Mayhem, but Lewis Howley intercepts Gibson with a clothesline, while Stoker rolls up Drake and grabs a handful of tights to escape with the titles.)
Casket Match for the NXT UK Women's Championship:
Isla Dawn (c) vs Meiko Satomura
(Meiko Satomura defeats Emelia McKenzie, Xia Brookside and Stevie Turner in a fatal four-way match to earn one more shot at Isla Dawn's NXT UK Women's Championship. Satomura says that Dawn's black cloud has reigned over the championship she once defended so honorably for far too long, and she’ll put a stop to that. Dawn says that she has already defeated Meiko twice, and the third time will be the final nail in the career of Meiko Satomura, because she wants to finish Meiko... in a Casket Match! The old saying ”the third time’s the charm" proves to be real for The Final Boss, as she hits 2 Scorpio Risings on Dawn before rolling her into the casket and becoming the first ever 2-time NXT UK Women's Champion.)
NXT UK Championship Tournament Final:
Trent Seven vs Tyler Bate
On the NXT UK after Takeover: Hamburg Trent Seven cuts a promo saying that he genuinely believes he was quite honest with himself for the last few months when he said that he didn't know what he was going to do if Moustache Mountain ever lost the NXT UK Tag Team Championship, and obviously losing the belts has compounded that, so he thinks he's only wise that he's honest to himself and all the fans that he makes a decision, so he asks Tyler Bate to come down to the ring. When Bate shows up, Seven says there’s no way he could have done all this without him, especially at this stage in both his life and career, and he thinks of all the opportunities he had with both Tyler & Pete Dunne, all the moments they've had traveling the length and breadth of the world, from the crazy nights in Canada, to Australia, to a circus tent in Kuala Lumpur and obviously America, but there's no place like home, and it reminds him of exactly of the moments they've had in NXT UK, where they became the first-ever 2-time NXT UK Tag Team Champions, and of course, that moment when they sold out The Royal Albert Hall and won the NXT Tag Team Championships, all of those moments were so special, and they're going to be such fond memories for him for the rest of his life, so he wants to say thank you to not only Tyler, but to everyone for being a part of this ride. Trent & Tyler then hug it out, only for Trent to shockingly low blow Tyler, ending Moustahce Mountain and turning heel. Seven then tells that Bate never needed him, before hitting a Birming-Hammer on Bate. The following week, Seven explains his actions, saying that what he did was absolutely beautiful, because it represents a turning point, it represents the most important moment in British Sports history, because it's the moment that he saved the industry, and everybody knows full well that it was because NXT UK was a dying brand, but now that the moment has passed everyone by, the brand is alive and well, because Trent Seven is on top, and that is exactly where he likes to be, right on the top, because he's the centre of attention now, and he and Tyler were the centre of attention when they were in British Strong Style, and all of this is to show that it isn't him who changed, it's Tyler who changed, he never lost his killer instinct, he was always doing to whatever it took to win, but Tyler lost his nerve, he’s lost his fighting spirit, because Tyler Bate is the same little weak boy he knew when the brand was born, while he is NXT UK, he is this brand, he is British Strong Style, he is Moustache Mountain. That segment concludes with Seven assaulting a fan. The following week, Seven scores a victory over Sam Gradwell, and continues to assault Gradwell after the match, only for Bate to make his return to NXT UK and force The Don of NXT UK to retreat. In a backstage interview that same evening after his return, Bate says that Trent may have broken his heart, but he can't run forever, because he's coming for him. Before this match begins, both Trent and Tyler do separate backstage interviews. Bate says life has a pretty funny way of bringing things full circle, you think you know someone, and then just like that, everything changes, and he replays that moment in his head when Trent betrayed him, because Trent gave him a home in the UK wrestling scene, his belief in him let him believe that he was capable of something special, and when he became the first ever NXT UK Champion, he got to share that moment with his best friend, his brother, it made that moment so much more sweeter, because he wouldn't be the man he is today without Trent Seven, but after Trent cut him deep, it's up to him to once again become the face of the brand and become a 2-time NXT UK Champion. Trent says that 12 years ago, there was a training school in Birmingham, and one of those kids that was training there was Tyler Bate, and he thought that if that kid just had a little bit of guidance, then the sky was going to be the limit for him, so the goal for him was to get Tyler the best training possible, and when that goal was completed, all the success came Tyler's way, but it felt like he was just there, and that urged him to make those changes that he needed to make, and his moment, his zenith, will comes at Tyler's expense, because we finally get to see the demise of the Big Strong Boi, and the rise of The Saviour of Brittish Sports, Trent Seven. This is the exact same match that aired on the final episode of NXT UK, with Bate winning with one definitive and final Tyler Drive 97 to become a 2-time NXT UK Champion.)

Pre-Show:
Madcap Moss vs Happy Corbin
(Following Money in the Bank, Happy Corbin and Madcap Moss lose a number one contenders match to Hit Row on an episode of SmackDown. Corbin berates Moss following the loss, with this finally bringing Moss over the edge and leading to him attacking Corbin, turning face. The following week, Moss (dumping the jokes and becoming more serious) addresses why he turned on Corbin. Moss says that the old Madcap Moss is dead, the new Madcap Moss doesn't take crap from Corbin week after week, this Madcap Moss doesn't just laugh off the abuse, and now he's he's going to give Corbin all the frustration that has been building up for almost a year now, and he wants to do it at The Biggest Party of The Summer. Corbin saying that Moss has made the biggest mistake of his career costing him a chance to become a two time Money in the Bank winner, and he'll gladly teach his old stooge a lesson in humility. Moss wins clean with the Punchline.)
Raw Tag Team Championship:
Alpha Academy (c) (Otis & Drew Gulak) w/Chad Gable vs The New Day
(The New Day defeat The Hurt Business, Los Lotharios, and The Mysterios in a fatal four-way match on to become number one contenders to the Raw Tag Team Championships. In the build-up, The New Day saying that AA are the dumbest group in the history of WWE, and that they are much more intelligent than Kurt Angle lite and his goons, because that intelligence is what will lead them to becoming 6-time Tag Team Champions at SummerSlam. Alpha Academy say that The New Day are washed up, they're nothing without Big E, they haven't even been near a championship in 3 years, and they're lucky to even be in the same ring as the most smartest trio in WWE history.)
Main Show:
SmackDown Women’s Championship:
Liv Morgan (c) vs Becky Lynch
(Despite failing to win the Women's Money in the Bank Ladder Match, Becky Lynch defeats Shotzi Blackheart on an episode of SmackDown to earn 1 more shot at the Smackdown Women's Championship. In the build up, Becky says lately, everyone thinks she's washed up, but she needs to prove to everyone and herself that she still has what it takes to be the face of the women’s division, so this isn't her wanting to beat Liv Morgan, it's her needing to beat Liv Morgan to become a 4-time Smackdown Women's Champion. Liv says that despite everything that has happened between them over the past number of months, she still respects Becky for everything she's done for the women's division in her career, but it’s time for Becky to step aside and let the future take it”a course. Becky also suffers a separated shoulder in this contest. After the match, a dejected Becky shakes Liv’s hand in a show of respect, and the two embrace, which turns Big Time Becks face. As Becky leaves and heads to the back, Liv celebrates her victory in the ring. All of a sudden, the music of Kay Lee Ray (traded to SmackDown on the go-home episode of Raw in exchange for Bayley going in the opposite direction) hits and she walks down to the ring, but then stops at ringside. KLR is then joined by two former NXT Women’s Champions in Dakota Kai (kayfabe fired from NXT after losing to Priscilla Kelly) and Io Shirai (NOT Iyo Sky and making her return after 3 months out with an ankle injury). All three women surround the ring until Becky runs back out to give Liv some back up. KLR, Kai and Shirai leave the ring, with KLR gesturing to the title on Liv’s shoulder. Damage CTRL is formed here.)
Ricochet vs Seth Rollins
(After both men failed to win the Money in the Bank Ladder Match, Seth Rollins and Ricochet continue their rivalry. In the weeks leading up to SummerSlam, Rollins costs The One and Only a match with Sami Zayn, while Ricochet returns the favour by costing The Visionary a match with Dominik Dijakovic. Realising that both men can’t be controlled, Adam Pearce sets up a match between both men at SummerSlam. Ricochet scores a shock win by dodging a Curb Stomp and rolling Rollins ijto an inside cradle. Rollins snaps and attacks Ricochet after the match, peeling back the mats at ringside and laying him out with a Curb Stomp on the concrete.)
Intercontinental Championship:
Isaiah "Swerve" Scott (c) w/B-Fab vs Shinsuke Nakamura
(After coming up short at Money in the Bank, Shinsuke Nakamura turns his attention back to the Intercontinental Championship, defeating Pete Dunne, Dominik Dijakovic and Ridge Holland in a fatal four-way match on SmackDown to become number one contender. In the build up, Isaiah "Swerve" Scott says that Shinsuke is a man of many things, he's extremely talented, and he’s Nakamura has done a lot of things 2-time, but he won’t be winning the IC title for a third time, and the third time won’t be the charm with The Realest around. Shinsuke says that Swerve is a marked man, and he won't stop until he is Intercontinental Champion for the third time. Swerve wins after countering a Kinshasa into a rollup, using the bottom rope for leverage, and further teasing Hit Row's heel turn.)
John Morrison & Logan Paul vs The Miz & Austin Theory
(After costing Austin Theory the Money in the Bank Ladder Match, The Miz & his protégé go after John Morrison, challenging Morrison to one final match at SummerSlam. In the build up, Miz dares Morrison to find someone in the back that would even want to team with him. Morrison says that he has the perfect partner in mind, because there's a man who wants payback on The Miz for what he did to him back at WrestleMania, because in Nashville, he will be teaming with none other than... Logan Paul! Miz says that he taught Logan everything he knows, but he didn't teach Logan everything that he knows, so at SummerSlamLogan is going to wish he never came back to WWE, when he receives the beating of a lifetime. Logan says that all Miz does is talk, it's the only thing Austin Theory is currently learning from him, and after Miz double-crossed him at WrestleMania, only 1 thing has been on his mind since then, shutting up Miz, and that is what he & The Guru of Greatness will do at SummerSlam.)
Falls Count Anywhere Match:
AJ Styles vs Edge w/Judgment Day
(AJ Styles and Edge’s fierce rivalry reaches it’s conclusion. Adam Pearce announces that both men will settle their differences once and for all, in a Falls Count Anywhere Match. In the build up, Edge says ever since he returned from his neck injury 2 years ago, he's injected a breath of fresh air into this company, and there's been moments when he's been unstoppable, untouchable, and unbeatable, he's supposed to be invincible with Judgment Day by his side, but AJ made him look like a fool when he cost him the United States Championship, AJ just has to keep on coming, and at SummerSlam, he’ll make sure AJ stays down permanently. AJ says Edge has been having an identity crisis that’s been going on for months. He's abandoned The Rated R Superstar persona, a persona that made him a 11-time World Champion, in favour of becoming a poor man’s Undertaker, but he remembers what Edge said about him before WrestleMania - that he "was washed up", - when in reality, it's the other way around, Edge threw all the respect out the window 4 months ago, so at SummerSlam, that same respect gets beaten back into him. The Phenomenal One finally lays this rivalry to rest with a Phenomenal Forearm off a balcony through two tables.)
Smackdown Tag Team Championship - with Jeff Jarrett as the special guest referee:
The Usos (c) w/Sami Zayn vs Hit Row w/Isaiah "Swerve" Scott & B-Fab
(After poor officiating denied them at Money in the Bank, Hit Row secure a rematch against The Usos after defeating Happy Corbin & Madcap Moss to become number one contenders. Adam Pearce decides to hand pick a referee for this match to call it right down the middle, and that referee is none other than Nashville's own Jeff Jarrett. Hit Row say that they'll whack The Usos so hard they'll think they're back in their face painting days. The Usos say that because the referee couldn't do his job at Money in the Bank, they now have to embarrass Mid Row again. The Usos win after hitting a 1D on Top Dolla, with Sami Zayn preventing Ashante "Thee" Adonis' from breaking up the pin.)
Tag Team Street Fight:
The Mysterios vs Los Lotharios w/Zelina Vega
(On the Raw after Money in the Bank, Los Lotharios attack Samoa Joe and put him through the announce table. Before Angel Garza & Humberto Carillo can inflict further punishment on Joe, The Mysterios run down for the save. Over the next couple of weeks, Zelina Vega, now dressed in black leather trousers, a black tank top and carrying a baseball bat, tries to recruit Dominik Mysterio as her latest client, telling Dominik that what happened to Samoa Joe was justice for the old guard, justice for the way things used to be, and Rey Mysterio needs to face that he’s washed up and has nothing else to offer his son anymore, all he has is a mask to hide behind, while someone like her has something more to offer to Dominik, a whole new way of life, and he's more than welcome to join her & Los Lotharios, because he needs to step out of his father’s shadow, or continue to suffer alongside him, because she can lead Dom to success, unlike Rey, who is not only a bad leader, but a bad father. Dom declines Zelina's offer, saying that her words are disrespectful, because there's no one he would rather learn from than his own flesh and blood, and if she has a problem with that, then her 2 clowns can face him & his father in the ring at SummerSlam. On the go-home Raw before SummerSlam, Rey Mysterio celebrates his 20-year anniversary in WWE at Madison Square Garden, only for it to be ruined by Los Lotharios and Zelina Vega, who disrespect Rey by unmasking him and add insult to injury with Zelina hitting Dom with her baseball bat. This leads to The Mysterios requesting to Adam Pearce that the match now become a Street Fight so they can batter Los Lotharios all across Nissan Stadium. Towards the end of the match, LL appear to be winning, until Samoa Joe to make his return and gives both Angel Garza and Humberto Carrillo a Muscle Buster. Rey & Dominik then hit a Double 619 on Garza, and Rey follows up with a diving splash to pick up the win.)
Bobby Lashley w/The Hurt Business vs Carmelo Hayes w/Trick Williams
(After being embarrassed in the Symphony of Destruction Match, Bobby Lashley & the rest of The Hurt Business come out on Raw to address what's next for them. Lashley says that MVP never wanted to admit it, but his arrogance cost them at Money in the Bank, and Elias now has the respect of The Almighty. Lashley is then cut off by Carmelo Hayes (who has now joined Raw after being called up from NXT) and his partner, Trick Williams. After introducing himself, Hayes begins berating The Almighty, saying that he's gone soft without MVP’s guidance, that he’s not that same guy who’s been the WWE Champion & the World Heavyweight Champion, he's just some jacked up old man who thinks he can still dominate, but The A Champion wants a match with Lashley to show the new school is taking over from the old school. Lashley accepts this challenge, saying that Hayes will be a stud one day, but he’s just shot himself in the foot by coming out here and interrupting The Almighty, because now he's in for a world of hurt at SummerSlam. During the closing stages of the match, a ref bump occurs, and Williams jumps in the ring to try and attack Lashley, but Cedric Alexander & Shelton Benjamin stop him. MVP then comes down to the ring and hits Hayes with his cane. MVP then helps Lashley to his feet… and low blows him! MVP then gets Hayes up to his feet and shakes his hand! Hayes then hits Nothin’ But Net to pick up the shock win. After the match, a smug MVP informs everyone that Bobby Lashley is now out of The Hurt Business, and introduces Williams and Hayes as the two newest members, to loud boos from the crowd.)
Belfast Brawl to determine the #1 Contender to the World Heavyweight Championship:
Drew McIntyre vs Sheamus w/Pete Dunne & Ridge Holland
(Drew McIntyre and Sheamus renew hostilities after Money in the Bank, with both men staking their claim to challenge for the World Heavyweight Championship at Clash at the Castle. Sheamus says Drew has made a big mistake in challenging him, because he's already denied Drew the WWE Championship at the Royal Rumble a year ago, and at SummerSlam, Drew will be denied again, because it will be The Celtic Warrior going into the belly of the beast at Clash at the Castle and becoming a 2-time World Heavyweight Champion, but he doesn't just want to beat Drew in an ordinary match, he wants to beat Drew, he wants to decimate Drew, and he wants to hospitalise Drew in a match that he so happens to be an expert in… a Belfast Brawl! McIntyre accepts and says that he’s known Sheamus for 20 years - they travelled up and down continents together, they signed with WWE together, and they both their worked arses off for opportunities to make it to the top of the WWE, but somewhere along the way, that Sheamus disappeared, and Sheamus became an entitled bitch when he cost him the WWE Championship last year, but they have a chance to main event the first UK stadium show in 30 years, because Roman Reigns is holding this company hostage, and we need a real World Heavyweight Champion, a workhorse, a warrior, because he knows Sheamus still has it in him, and that is the warrior he wants to face, because he will not be denied again. This is the same match that happened on the 07/29/2022 episode of SmackDown.)
Six-Pack Challenge for the United States Championship:
Finn Bálor (c) vs Damian Priest w/Joe Gacy vs Kevin Owens vs Keith Lee vs Matt Riddle vs Bronson Reed
(All six men want to be United States Champion. On an episode of Raw, Finn Bálor demands to face the best competition that the Raw roster has to offer. Adam Pearce responds to Finn’s request and sets up a six pack challenge at SummerSlam, with a series of qualifying matches set up to determine Finn’s opponent’s. Damian Priest, Kevin Owens, Keith Lee, Matt Riddle, and the debuting Bronson Reed (called up to Raw after Money in the Bank) all win qualifying matches to earn a shot at the title. Priest says that Finn got lucky at Money in the Bank,, but now, he’s got no back up, because Judgment Day will collect gold when he becomes a 2-time United States Champion. KO says that the US title was the first title he won in WWE, and he needs it in order to get back on track. Lee says that when he was U.S. Champion, he was under the wrong guidance, but this time he wants to do it the right way. Riddle says now that he's on his own, he needs singles success, and he’ll make that happen when he becomes a 2-time United States Champion. Reed vows to crush the competition and walk out of Nashville with his first piece of main roster gold. Bálor says that all 5 of these men are world class competitors, but they aren't going to dethrone The Prince at SummerSlam.)
Raw Women’s Championship:
Alexa Bliss (c) vs Bianca Belair
(Bianca Belair wins a six woman gauntlet match on an episode of Raw, overcoming Tegan Nox, Shayna Baszler, Mia Yim, Asuka, and Kay Lee Ray to become number one contender. In the build up, Belair says that Alexa Bliss is someone she's always wanted to step into the ring with ever since she first stepped foot in a WWE ring 6 years ago, and she knows that Lexi has almost a decade of experience on her side, that’s she been the first Women’s Money in the Bank winner, as well as the 6th woman to have held the Raw & Smackdown Women's Championships, but this is a challenge for her, and just like she did in the main event of WrestleMania 37, she knows when to step on up to the plate when it's time to make history. Bliss says that Bianca is doing a great job at being a role model for the new generation of women working their way up through WWE, she's a trendsetter who’s already main evented WrestleMania, but she has been nowhere near as dominant as The Goddess has been across her whole career, and at SummerSlam, she’s walking out of Nashville with the Raw Women's Championship. The match ends when Bliss attempts to hit Twisted Bliss, but The EST of WWE counters it into a KOD, then follows up with another KOD to become the 7th woman in WWE history to have won the Raw and SmackDown Women’s Championship.)
Raw Women’s Championship - Money in the Bank Cash In:
Bianca Belair (c) vs Rhea Ripley
(As Belair celebrates in the ring with her newly won Raw Women's Championship, the lights go out, and Judgment Day's music hits. Edge, Damian Priest and Joe Gacy come out to the ring, but they stop at ringside, and Edge just smirks and begins to laugh. This distraction allows Rhea Ripley to come through the crowd and hit Belair in the back of the head with the Money in the Bank briefcase. Now sporting black hair, new gear, and new makeup, Rhea smirks at Judgment Day and hands the briefcase to the referee. She’s cashing in! Edge pressures the referee into ringing the bell. The Nightmare quickly hits a big boot and follows up with the Riptide to crush Belair’s dreams and become a 2-time Raw Women’s Champion.)
WWE Championship:
Karrion Kross (c) w/Scarlett vs Brock Lesnar
(On the Raw after Money in the Bank, Karrion Kross defeats Elias (who earns this shot thanks to an impressed Adam Pearce) in the main event to retain the WWE Championship. Brock Lesnar than makes a shocking return to confront Kross, laying him out with an F-5 and indicating that he wants the WWE Championship. Kross returns the favour by invading SmackDown and attacking The Beast by locking him in the Kross Jacket. A week later, Kross says he's been visualising the day that he steps in the ring with Brock Lesnar for 7 years now, but last week, Brock made him look weak, so he sent The Beast a message. He is the emperor of Raw, he is invincible, unstoppable and omnipotent, and he will make Brock fall and pray at SummerSlam. Brock says he doesn't know who Kross is, nor does he care, all he cares is that he has the WWE Championship and he wants it, because he’s going to eviscerate Kross in Nashville. This match is a stiff sprint from the start, with Kross & Brock suplexing each other all across the ring, and there’s also an F-5 into a Kross Jacket counter. A distraction by Scarlett allows to The Herald of Doomsday to hit an Avalanche Doomsday Saito Suplex on Brock, and then follow up with two Kross Hammers to pick up the biggest win of his career, further solidifying his dominance.)
Last Chance Steel Cage Match for the World Heavyweight Championship:
Roman Reigns (c) vs EC3
(The rematch between these two. In the build up, EC3 says all it takes is one bad day to reduce the most sane man to lunacy, and now that he is in control of his narrative, this is an EC3 who is going to kick Roman Reigns' ass and become the World Heavyweight Champion, because Reigns is just a man who hides behind tribal necklaces, a so-called 'wiseman’, cousins who he uses to do his dirty work, a homeless creep who acts as his bootlicker, and false monikers such as The Head of The Table and The Tribal Chief, he's none of those, he’s a false idol who has been in way over his head for almost 2 years now, carrying a championship that is the equivalent to the weight of the world on his back, and at SummerSlam, he will relieve Roman of the burden that is the World Heavyweight Championship and restore his sanity. Adam Pearce raises the stakes and makes this match a Steel Cage match to prevent The Usos and Sami Zayn from interfering, with the added stipulation that if EC3 loses, he's barred from challenging for the World Heavyweight Championship as long as Reigns is champion. Reigns says The Bloodline broke EC3 at Backlash, because he did what everyone did when they stepped in the ring with The Tribal Chief, fail, and that failure is eating him alive, and now EC3’s back is against the wall, it's do or die for him, either he finally does the unthinkable and becomes World Heavyweight Champion, or he becomes just another statistic who will acknowledge The Tribal Chief. On the go-home episode of SmackDown, EC3 takes out Paul Heyman and gives him a One Percenter through the announce table, writing The Wise Man off TV for a bit. Despite being all on his own, Roman prevails after putting The Top One Percenter away decisively with 2 Spears, walking out the cage door to retain the title. As Roman leaves the ring, Drew McIntyre’s music hits and he comes out to stare down Roman as SummerSlam goes off the air.)

NXT Takeover: Cincinnati
Date: 13/8/22
Location: Heritage Bank Center, Cincinnati, Ohio
NXT North American Championship:
Bron Breakker (c) vs Nash Carter
(With Takeover: Pittsburgh now in the rearview mirror, Nash Carter, who is riding a wave of momentum after his victory over Wes Lee, sets his sights on the NXT North American Championship.l Carter says there is a difference between himself and all the other losers that have faced Bron Breakker, they were just competing against Bron, and he's gonna dissect Bron and send him on a one way trip to the hospital right next to Wes Lee. Breakker says that Nash is just a guy with chip on his shoulder, because he couldn't handle that Wes was the bigger star than him, and because of that, he has to go above and beyond to try to be perfect every time he's in this ring, but he's running into a brick wall in Cincinnati. A low blow followed up with a Senton Bomb allows Carter to become the new North American Champion.)
Apollo Crews vs Grayson Waller
(After sending Bronson Reed to the main roster, Apollo Crews moves on to another Australian native in the form of Grayson Waller. Waller says that on behalf of the NXT locker room, Apollo is not welcome around here, because they don't have room for failed main roster talents, so if Apollo doesn't leave, he'll end up like Johhny Gargano. Crews responds by challenging Waller to a match, saying Waller is just some Miz knockoff with half of Miz’s tslent. Waller wins thanks to exploiting an eye injury suffered by Crews in the match, allowing Waller to hit his patented Rolling Stunner and pick up the win.)
Roxanne Perez vs Cora Jade
On the NXT after Takeover: Pittsburgh, Cora Jade explains why she turned on Roxanne Perez. Cora says that for the past 10 months, she's been the face of the NXT Women’s division, because after her performance in WarGames, the fans couldn't stop talking about her, but then she brought Roxanne Perez into NXT, and from day 1, all the fans attention went from her to Roxanne, because all of a sudden, Roxanne thought she was now the next big breakout star, and when the #1 contender’s tournament began, she was the favourite to win, because she's the Personification of Greatness, and you can't have a tournament without greatness like Cora Jade, and Roxanne shouldn’t have been anywhere near that tournament with how little experience she has here in NXT, and when she made it to the semi-finals, she got injured, and because of her injury, she had to pull out, and who was there to compete on her behalf! Roxanne. And when Roxanne won and decided to keep the title shot for herself, she knew their friendship was a lie, because Roxanne is a selfish bitch, and she was the one who attacked her before Takeover: Pittsburgh, and it felt so damn good whacking her in the back with that kendo stick, because that moment right there marked the end of naive little Cora Jade and the true beginning of The Generation of Jade. A few weeks later, Roxanne returns and costs Jade a match against Blair Davenport, with both women getting into a brawl and Shawn Michaels making a match between both ladies in order to resolve their disputes. Roxanne says that Cora wanted this, and now she has nowhere to hide, because Cora made her bed, and now she has to lie in it. Roxanne comes into this match all fired up and aggressive, which almost gets her disqualified. This allows Cora to capitalise and win clean with a Double Underhook DDT.)
Tommaso Ciampa vs Tony D’Angleo
(A few weeks after Takeover: Pittsburgh, Tommaso Ciampa cuts a promo, saying that the past 7 years of his career have been the best, night in and night out he's had the time of his life in NXT, but he's done all there is to do, so that is why, he informs everyone that after Takeover: Cincinnati, he will be leaving NXT. Ciampa is then interrupted by Tony D'Angelo, who says he has a lot of respect for Ciampa, enough respect to confront him face to face, and after he sent Santos Escobar packing from NXT, he still doesn't feel like he's the man around here, he's been wondering who can he beat to earn that status, and if Ciampa is planning on leaving NXT behind, then he wants to be the last one to go toe-to-toe with him, cause it would be an honour. Ciampa accepts D’Angelo’s offer, before being laid out by The Don of NXT. On the go home episode of NXT, D’Angelo says that he didn't come out to pay tribute to Ciampa, he set up The Psycho Killer, hook, line and sinker, and Ciampa the bait, because just like Santos Escobar before him, Ciampa gets sent on his way out of NXT. Ciampa says that Cincinnati may be his final chapter, but he's writing his own fairy tale ending, and it’ll be a tragic one for D’Angelo. This is the same match from Stand & Deliver as it was in real life. Following the match, the crowd gives Ciampa a standing ovation with "Thank you Ciampa" chants. As Ciampa walks up the aisle one last time, Triple H's music hits, with The Game making a one-off return to NXT after a year away. Triple H embraces Ciampa, and Ciampa rides off into the sunset.)
NXT Women's Championship:
Priscilla Kelly (c) w/Piper Niven vs Blair Davenport
(On the NXT after Takeover: Pittsburgh, a #1 contenders battle royal is held to determine the next challenger to the NXT Women's Championship. In a backstage interview before the match, Blair Davenport talks about how much she wants to win the match and go on to challenge Priscilla Kelly. PK berates Davenport, saying that she went from being a top prospect in Japan, to being the biggest disappointment to ever step foot in NXT. This causes Davenport to snap and begin brawling with PK, which turns The Commonwealth Queenpin face. Davenport then goes on to win the battle royal and become the #1 contender. Davenport says that when Priscilla badmouthed her backstage, it awakened a fire inside her, and that fire will lead her to the NXT Women's Championship, because she knows how dominant she can be, she ruled an entire continent while PK was signing divorce papers. PK says she is going to embarrass Davenport so bad that she’ll wish she was still performing to near silence in Japan. PK wins after interference from Piper Niven.)
NXT Championship:
WALTER (c) w/Imperium vs Jordan Devlin
(Following his staredown with WALTER in Pittsburgh, Jordan Devlin explains why he came to NXT. Devlin says that back in his homeland of Ireland before he made NXT UK his stomping ground, he was a hero in a promotion called OTT, he was their top champion, every single great foreign wrestler who came into the country got taken out by The Irish Ace, except for one man - WALTER. And time and time again, he replays that loss in his mind, and he may have gotten that win back, but he wasn't that motivated, and he wants to beat WALTER at his best and ensure The Irish Ace becomes NXT Champion. WALTER says that Devlin is still haunted by that one night in Dublin, that was the night when he was lying on the sacred mat that we walk on, and now he's come all the way to NXT, to have the same thing happen to him in Cincinnati. WALTER gets the win after a Frog Splash. After the match, as Imperium celebrates in the ring, Tyler Bate theme hits. The NXT UK Champion makes his way down to the ring to confront Der Ring General, with WALTER & Bate hoisting up their respective titles, setting the stage for Worlds Collide.)

World's Collide 2022
Date: 3/9/22
Location: Motorpoint Arena, Cardiff, Wales
British Rounds Rules Title Unification Match for the NXT North American Championship & NXT UK Heritage Championship:
Dave Mastiff (Heritage) vs Nash Carter (North American) (1-2)
(In the weeks leading up to Worlds Collide, NXT North American Champion Nash Carter is left without an opponent, which enrages him. On the go-home episode of NXT, Carter cuts a promo, saying that he has only been North American Champion for a couple of weeks and already he's being disrespected by management not offering him a match, so he will not be taking his talents to Worlds Collide. NXT UK Heritage Champion Dave Mastiff then shows up to interrupt Carter. The Bomber says that out of all these title unification matches taking place at World's Collide, there's 1 missing, and he wants to unify that North American Championship with his Heritage Championship. Carter accepts. saying that Mastiff only wants this because since it's for his title that he carries around, a title which nobody cares about, and though he may be a rookie to the British Rounds Rules stipulation, he's still far superior to Mastiff in every way. Mastiff responds by saying some days you’re the bug, and some days you’re the windshield, and Carter will be the bug he’s going to squash in Cardiff. With the match tied at one fall apiece, Mastiff prepares to hit Into The Void, but Carter moves and Mastiff lands back first on an exposed lower turnbuckle that Carter removed earlier. Carter then follows up with a Senton Bomb to unify both titles. Mastiff leaves the WWE shortly after due to NXT UK being discontinued as a brand.)
Six-Woman Tag Team Match:
Blair Davenport, Tegan Nox & Nikki Cross vs Priscilla Kelly, Piper Niven & Mandy Leon
(On an episode of NXT a week after Takeover: Cincinnati, Priscilla Kelly scores a routine victory over Kacy Catanzaro. PK’s celebrations are interrupted by Blair Davenport, who runs out to attack PK. Blair is then blindsided by a hooded fan, who jumps the barricade to assault The Top Gaijin. The assailant reveals herself to be…. Mandy Leon! The former ROH alumni (having signed for NXT in early April) joins PK and Piper Niven in beating down Davenport, with Hell’s Favourite Harlot gaining a new ally. On the go-home episode of NXT before Worlds Collide, Piper Niven scores a victory over Nikkita Lyons in a singles match, with PK cutting a promo post match and saying that nobody can lace her. Mandy or Piper's boots, because they are better than everybody else in the NXT women’s locker room, and since she's so good, she'll compete twice at World's Collide. Davenport then interrupts and says if the Powerpuff Girl rejects want to back up their words, then she’ll face all 3 of them at Worlds Collide. PK, thinking it’ll be Handicap Match, eagerly accepts and says Davenport just made the biggest mistake of her life. Blair then says "Who said anything about a handicap match?" Raw alumni Tegan Nox & Nikki Cross then make their shocking returns to NXT, revealing themselves to be Davenport’s partners. All six women get into a brawl, which leads to this match. Niven scores the win for her team with a Piper Driver on Cross.)
Fatal Four-Way Title Unification Match for the NXT Tag Team Championship & NXT UK Tag Team Championship:
The Creed Brothers (NXT Tag Team) vs Pretty Deadly (NXT UK Tag Team) vs The War Raiders vs Gallus w/Joe Coffey
(After Takeover: Cincinnati Heat Wave, tensions within The Diamond Mine begin to intensify. The Creed Brothers accuse Roderick Strong of trying to destroy what they've built. Roddy explains to The Creeds & Damin Kemp that he brought them into Diamond Mine because they are one-of-a-kind athletes with endless potential that needed guidance and look at what The Creeds have done under his guidance, they've won the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic and became NXT Tag Team Champions, and that they've got big things ahead of them. Gallus then make a shocking appearance and attack Diamond Mine, with Joe Coffey laying out Strong with All the Best for the Bells. A week later, Gallus say that for over 3 years, they made NXT UK their kingdom, and now they intend on doing the same on the other side of the Atlantic, and that starts by beating what they beat into everyone back at home into The Creed Brothers and taking those NXT Tag Team Championships. Pretty Deadly get in on the action, saying that The Creeds are too worried about those 3 wild animals, when they should be focusing on the team that wants to unify those tag team championships, the longest reigning NXT UK Tag Team Champions of all time, and that’s Pretty Deadly. The War Raiders make a shocking return to NXT a few weeks before Worlds Collide, saying that they’re still hungry for gold, the raid never ended when they left NXT, and they can't think of a better way to represent the NXT Tag Team Championship than by bringing the belts to SmackDown. The Creed Brothers respond to their opponents, saying that Gallus never were the top guys in NXT UK because other teams were better than them, and they won’t be coming out on top, and as for Pretty Deadly, they racked up fluke win after fluke win in their title reign, they could never win clean, so at World's Collide, The Creed Brothers will be walking out the Unified Tag Team Champion, and as for The War Raiders, the sport moves on, and so do they, so they'll send them back to Smackdown empty handed. Before the show, Strong is attacked in the parking lot by an unknown assailant and it’s unclear who did it. Eventually, a referee bump occurs and Lewis Howley prepares to hit Julius Creed with a chair, only for Damon Kemp to run down and take out Howley. Kemp then gets Julius up to his feet, with Julius then preparing to hit a Sitting Lariat on Howley, but before he does, Kemp turns heel and hits Julius in the back with a steel chair. As Kemp leaves the ring, the referee recovers as Pretty Deadly hit Spilled Milk on Julius and the three count is logged. Pretty Deadly have unified the belts.)
Title Unification Match for the NXT Women’s & NXT UK Women's Championship:
Meiko Satomura (NXT UK Women’s) vs Priscilla Kelly (NXT Women’s) w/Piper Niven & Mandy Leon
(On the NXT after Takeover: Cincinnati, Priscilla Kelly gloats about her successful victory over Blair Davenport, when sheis cut off by none other than the living legend herself, Meiko Satomura. Meiko says that Priscilla has been very dominant in her reign so far, but she doesn’t have that same level of dominance The Final Boss had for nearly a year, because there is one title that she hasn't won yet in her illustrious career, she wants to add the NXT Women's Championship to her trophy case, and she wants it at Worlds Collide. PK says if she wanted a challenge, she'd hop on a plane to Japan, because nobody knows who Meiko is, nobody watches NXT UK and if they say they do, they’re lying, nobody watched WCW because they weren’t born yet, and she wouldn't mind adding another title to help her cover herself up during photoshoots, because at this point in her career, Meiko isn't The Final Boss, she's The Tutorial Stage, and she doesn't need any cheat codes to get past a goddamn old lady at Worlds Collide.)
Title Unification Match for the NXT and NXT UK Championship:
Tyler Bate (NXT UK) vs WALTER (NXT) w/Imperium
(On the NXT after Takeover: Cincinnati, Tyler Bate confronts WALTER. Bate says that he is the flag bearer of NXT UK, the brand that WALTER left behind, and with NXT UK coming to a close, he wants to give the title that he was the first holder of a proper send off, it's a redemption story for him, because 3 years ago, he challenged WALTER for the NXT UK Championship and came up short, but WALTER didn’t finish the job, and here he stands 3 years later, once again challenging WALTER, but this time, it's different, because at Worlds Collide, he is going to re-write that wrong and finally slay the beast so he can unify the NXT & NXT UK Championships. WALTER responds to Tyler, saying that 3 years ago, he made a man out of The Big Strong Boi, they put on a clash for the ages that will continue to be talked about for generations in this great sport, but he just doesn't have what it takes to surpass Der Ring General, and if he wants to talk about doing the NXT UK Championship justice, the only way to do it justice is for its final holder to be the man who was the longest reigning NXT UK Champion, And at Worlds Collide, he will do exactly that, because the mat is sacred. Both men put on a another banger of a match just like they did back in Cardiff in 2019, where WALTER walks out victorious, after hitting Bate with his trademark Lariat, becoming the final NXT UK Champion.)
