Great show! I did a Fabulous Freebirds vs. Von Erichs 6 Man tag in my Southeastern Championship Wrestling promotion recently. The Von Erichs consisted of Fritz, Kevin and David. Fritz got a 52 rating! I had him get the win with The Claw on Buddy Roberts. The match was in the Alamodome in front of 40,000 fans. The Freebirds are my SECW tag team champions right now. I am working up to them losing their titles because they are just so good and Terry Gordy is getting amazing ratings!

CURRENT CHAMPIONS - WCCW World Heavyweight Champion: Ric Flair - WCCW World Six Men Tag Champions: The Fabulous Freebirds - WCCW World Tag Champions: The Midnight Express - NWA Texas Heavyweight Champion: Dory Funk Jr.
April 1st - 4th 1984
- We made $1.2 millions last month, it was another great result for World Class. Namely, we got $3 millions thanks to ticket sales only. As the roster is getting really competitive, shall I add 30 minutes to the weekly show? Or run a second one? I will think about it, because this will generate more income, as long as it won't hurt creative
- Our merchandise revenue also grossed $1.1 millions and that is huge money too, if we consider that workers get just around 10/20% of it, depending from their individual contracts. David von Erich, despite his hiatus, is by far the top seller
- 3 contracts are expiring soon: Buddy Roberts and The Fantastics. Roberts has a babyface run in him, his turn was a success and his cowboy gimmick seems to be working well. That being said, his physical abilities are slowly declining, despite him only being 38. Same can be said for Rogers and Fulton, as they are about to turn babyface due to their feud with MNX. They are good workers and over enough to be midcarders, but Fulton has some heat with Kerry von Erich and the Rock & Roll Express. I offered a 1 year extension to all 3 of them and it will likely be the last contract for the trio. Let's see if they accept first, anyway
- Ric Flair has complained about Dennis Condrey, saying he's not over enough to be a Horsemen. Ouch. Weird, as Condrey is only 2% less over than Bobby Eaton, who's universally liked and respected. I have no plans to replace of kick Condrey out, as MNX currently have feuds with Fantastics and R&R
- News from the wrestling world: Jumbo Tsuruta has won the Champion Carnival; Pedro Morales has defeated Big John Studd to win the WWF Title
WCCW TV 04.04.1984 Dallas, TX Attendance: 20146 TV rating: 0.86 Show quality: 81
Tito Santana & Rock & Roll Express (w/ Sunshine and Brian Adias) def. Mangum TA, Terry Taylor & Bill Irwin (w/ Sherri) in 8:35 when Santana pins Taylor after a crossbody. Irwin keeps bringing beers in the ring and sides with the Rednecks, turning his back on Texas due to his nemesis Santana (71)
JR and Gary Hart announce the Spring Tag Team Tournament, that will take place at Spring Star Wars! There will be 7 tag matches, all with a 15 minutes time limit, and the winners will enter a Battle Royal. The BR winner will get $10.000 and a match of his choosing! 11 teams have been selected so far: The Funks; Kerry & Kevin von Erich; Midnight Express; Rock & Roll Express; Flair and DiBiase; Taylor & Magnum TA; Santana & Adias; Devastation Inc; Hansen and the returning Brody; Rich & Adams; The Fantastics; 3 spots are available: 1 goes to the Freebirds (they need to choose who will represent them) and the other 2 are to the top talents that are not in a team, Mr. X and Buddy Roberts! They all have 7 days to announce their partners, as the brackets will be released next week. Also, as no titles were on the line at the last Star Wars and they won't be on the next one, they will be defended for the next 4 shows, one match per week! (77)
Devastation Inc. (w/ Skandor Akbar) def. Samu & Gran Markus in 4:23 when Bundy pins Markus (64)
On stage Bill Mercer interviews Mr. X, who is happy about saving his mask and finally defeating Kabuki. Mercer asks about his partner for the tournament and X wishes he could tag with his friend Chris Adams, but he has chosen Tully Blanchard! (70)
Kevin von Erich & Kerry von Erich def. The Fantastics in 8:16 when Kevin pins Fulton. the von Erichs almost lose this match too by countout. Fantastics turn babyface officially during the match due to their attitude (70)
Taped Four Horsemen promo. Ric Flair is furious about him having to defend his title on free TV, while Ted DiBiase says that he should be the one receiving a shot to the Texan title. MNX mock both Fantastics and R&R, while Bobby Heenan can't wait for them to get the $10.000 (82)
WCCW Six Men Tag Titles: The Fabulous Freebirds (c) def. Stan Hansen & The Funks in 13:22 when Gordy pins Dory Jr. after a chairshot and a big boot. Buddy Roberts is on commentary (84)
Postmatch Hansen and Funks are not happy. The von Erichs are on the stage too and so the Birds decide to run away, but before they do Hayes hands Roberts an envelope. What is going on?! (84)
Show notes
- TV ratings are getting up again!
- I have a lot of teams and alliances, so this tag tournament will hopefully bring us a decent show by itself and also enhance some rivalries. We got Parade of Champions and Independence Day shows soon and they are both big ones, so I need to run decent shows without giving too much away at the moment
- The main event went really well, both in ring and with the final segment, let's see if anyone can find out what Hayes handed Roberts. Not going to lie, I thought about running the usual DQ, but Dory accepted to put over Gordy without a fuss
- The Fantastics' turn was a success and it will hopefully boost their careers a bit, also because they almost defeated the von Erichs, who seems to be struggling quite a bit
- So, Brody and Blanchard are currently slated to make a one night only return for the tournament, no plans to hire them as they both had a few issues on their way out
- Irwin with the East Coast Rednecks is more than an idea, it worked well at this show, let's see

First of all, I support the idea of a B TV show, taped in the same day of WCCW TV (which can be renamed to something more sparkly).
Then, I love the idea of the Spring Tag Team Tournament and how you picked the participants. Mr. X doesn't seem very smart basically saying Blanchard was his 2nd option. I'd turn on him instantly! I'm wondering who will Buddy Roberts pick.
Good, good show!

But that's probably too 2000ish. Maybe something related to the state of Texas? Idk, sorry

I think WWF at the time had Superstars and All-American wrestling. You can go with WCCW Main Event, or maybe something like World Class Rivals

CURRENT CHAMPIONS - WCCW World Heavyweight Champion: Ric Flair - WCCW World Six Men Tag Champions: The Fabulous Freebirds - WCCW World Tag Champions: The Midnight Express - NWA Texas Heavyweight Champion: Dory Funk Jr.
April 5th - 11th 1984
- Buddy Roberts, Tommy Rogers and Bobby Fulton have all resigned for another year. As mentioned last week, they have all turned babyface recently and can still do something in the territory. I don't really see them sticking with World Class for more than that, but we will see how it goes
- More contracts are expiring soon (I started offering them last spring, so that makes sense), stay tuned for that because some won't be renewed
- Speaking of contracts, Jose Lothario has been sent to CState to be a coach. Last year, I tried to use Jose in the ring to legitimize Al Madril and to do something with Mr. X, but he wasn't performing well. Lothario still makes $600 per appearance and CState might need an extra road agent I guess
- News from the wrestling world: ASW in Canada has closed down, probably because I renamed by weekly show with their full name; ICW is expanding and they have hired some regional stars like Paul Orndorff and Arn Anderson; Curt Hennig has invented a new catchphrase in AWA and has a great momentum
- BIG NEWS COMING UP!
WCCW All-Star Wrestling 11.04.1984 Dallas, TX Attendance: 20545 TV rating: 0.83 Show rating: 78
Buddy Roberts def. Bill Irwin in 6:11 with a backdrop suplex. Irwin fights while wearing an East Coast Rednecks t-shirt (65)
Postmatch Bill Mercer asks Roberts about the envelope that the Freebirds gave him last week, Birds asked Roberts to pick one of them as his partner for the Spring Tag Tournament, so the other 2 can enter it as well and the Birds can have 2 teams! The Birds approach the ring and Michael Hayes says that what they did to Roberts was just business, just like this is just business, they are happy to give him the $10000 prize as well, as long as they get the "match reward" for themselves. Roberts is not convinced, but Terry Gordy (after Hayes pushes him to) says that he's never laid a hand on Roberts and he still loves him: they can enter together, while Hayes and Garvin do it separately, and then it's all men for themselves in the Battle Royal. Garvin adds that nobody in the back likes Roberts anyway, because he ran with the Birds for a year, so who's he going to have as a partner? Roberts says that he will accept to tag with Gordy for one night only, but once they qualify to the Battle Royal, he will beat them all up! (78)
Michael Hayes & Jimmy Garvin (w/ Terry Gordy) def. Tito Santana & Brian Adias (w/ Sunshine) in 6:57 when Garvin pins Adias after a DDT. Magnum TA and Terry Taylor watch the match from the announcing table and don't have nice words for Santana and Adias (74)
On stage Bill Mercer interviews Kerry and Kevin von Erich, who want to put their differences behind them and win the Spring Tag Tournament. Mercer asks which match they will ask for if they win and Kerry says that he wants the World Title. Kevin doesn't seem impressed and says that they hope to face the Freebirds straight away, as it's not over between them! (80)
Chris Adams & Tommy Rich def. Devastation Inc. (w/ Skandor Akbar) in 8:00 by DQ when the heels attack the babyfaces furiously and the referee stops the match. Mr. X is on commentary and seems upset about the heels attacking Adams, while he doesn't seem worried about Rich (66)
On stage Jim Ross and Gary Hart reveal the first round matches for the Spring Tag Tournament (77) - Ric Flair & Ted DiBiase vs. Stan Hansen & Bruiser Brody - The Funks vs. Terry Gordy & Buddy Roberts - Kevin von Erich & Kerry von Erich vs. Michael Hayes & Jimmy Garvin - Midnight Express vs. The Fantastics - Chris Adams & Tommy Rich vs. Devastation Inc. - Rock & Roll Express vs. Terry Taylor & Magnum TA - Mr. X & Tully Blanchard vs. Brian Adias & Tito Santana
WCCW World Tag Titles: Rock & Roll Express def. Midnight Express (c) (w/ Bobby Heenan) by DQ in 11:21 when Ric Flair and Ted DiBiase interfere (79)
Postmatch the Horsemen grab some chairs for a beatdown, but the Fantastics, the Funks and Stan Hansen arrive for the rescue! The Horsemen leave the ring quickly to avoid the fight and Ric Flair seems upset about having so many enemies! (84)
Show notes
- My worst show in a while, at least when it comes to show rating. It looked quite solid to me, but the advancement towards the tournament can be a bit slow so I get it
- Nonetheless, 20545 is the best TV show attendance that I have ever drawn. The only thing that I have announced were MNX vs. RR for the titles and a von Erichs interview
- Gary Hart will probably go back to solely announcing soon, or maybe managing. I wanted to get Fritz von Erich off TV so he could concentrate on road agent work and not to collude with his boys' angle too much, but he gets great pops all the time, while Hart can come across as a bit awkward, despite his skills
- I'm really happy for the way RR/MNX feud is going, their popularity is getting up thanks to their alliances
- Roberts is already paying dividends storyline wise, but clearly fans are not into him versus the Birds in the way that they are into von Erichs versus the Birds WCCW SPRING STAR WARS 28.04.1984 - Spring Tag Tournament Final: Battle Royal (Prizes: $10.000 and a match of the winner's choosing)
- Spring Tag Tournament First Round: Ric Flair & Ted DiBiase vs. Stan Hansen & Bruiser Brody - Spring Tag Tournament First Round: The Funks vs. Terry Gordy & Buddy Roberts - Spring Tag Tournament First Round: Kevin von Erich & Kerry von Erich vs. Michael Hayes & Jimmy Garvin - Spring Tag Tournament First Round: Midnight Express vs. The Fantastics - Spring Tag Tournament First Round: Chris Adams & Tommy Rich vs. Devastation Inc. - Spring Tag Tournament First Round: Rock & Roll Express vs. Terry Taylor & Magnum TA - Mr. X & Tully Blanchard vs. Brian Adias & Tito Santana
