WWE '07 - The Show Must Go On!

RAW: Oh, damn, Umaga injured. I'd be pissed if I was the booker, but as a viewer, a title tournament is always exciting! Think positive: at least it happened after Regal and McIntyre's title match, so they can enter the fray... and they did.
I didn't expect any other debut for Cade and Harris, tbh. Will they have a name?
Rhodes as HBK's protégée seems very natural, tbh. I wonder if Cody will turn on Shawn along the way and join Orton, though.
Good main event and a solid show ending. I'm actually wondering if you'll pull a non-contest next week and have Cena vs. Orton vs. Kennedy at Armageddon.

ECW: Weekly open challenges for a title are my cup of tea, specially in ECW, so I'm happy you'll follow that line and Dreamer is the guy to do it. Let's see how long he'll get to keep the title.
Punk beating a huge man via submission is an upset, but I'm ok with it. Burke and Morrison are squaring off next week in a Contendership Match and I think you may need a shake-up in the brand...

SD!: If Hawkins and The Deathmatch King are challenging, I'm backing them up.
I wonder who's Jericho picking as challenger and I'm sure he'll force-pick it next week on Highlight Reel. It would be cool to see Jericho vs. Rey Rey. Also, the Y2J save on Flair actually has me thinking Jericho may replace Batista in next week's title match, but Jericho has too much to handle right now, probably.
Well, forget what I said about Rey Rey challenging for the World Title. Chavo is definitely losing on Armageddon and going to ECW, but I wouldn't be shocked if it was the other way around, as Rey Rey would be a great fit in ECW if you want to value barbed wire city.
Props for having the Cruiserweight Title main eventing SmackDown!

Smart decision to lower the number of PPVs. While I'm a fan of having 14/15 PPVs if some are brand-exclusive ones, that's not the case and so it makes sense for you to have only 12.

RAW: You had a great episode right there with the Tournament and Non-Tournament matches all mattering for something. The match-ups for the tournament were great and we even got an upset win by Cody, as well as his (and Shawn's) feud with Orton developed. Cena's path will now cross that feud as Orton has a title shot to get soon (Armageddon?) and I wonder if HBK will be involved somehow.

ECW: Again, all of ECW's episode felt like something important, which was very rare back in the day. The main reason was the Hardcore title defense. Thank you for making it a weekly thing from now on. Nitro and Burke will probably both be in the title match, or maybe we'll see a Championship Scramble with Burchill and Big Daddy V or so added?

SD!: I was about to comment that SD! was the lesser show this week until the final segments completely stole the show. You booked a very smart title chance, as Batista doesn't need the Tag Team Titles at all and Rey Rey's hot feud with Chavo provides a great excuse for the titles to change hands. Also, Jericho vs. Undertaker is a great title match for Armageddon. Cagematch tells me they never had a 1-on-1 match on PPV and they never had a singles match at all until late 2009, which is just ridiculous. Glad you're doing it.

ORTON CALLS HIS SHOT (93%)
Monday Night RAW kicks off with “Burn In My Light” hitting and Randy Orton coming down to the ring. Orton faces John Cena tonight for the WWE Championship. Orton cuts a promo where he says that the “Age of Orton” is going to start tonight when he fulfills his destiny and beats John Cena to become the new WWE Champ. Orton continues on but is interrupted by the music of “THE GAME” TRIPLE H! Orton looks stunned as he awaits Triple H's arrival and as soon as Hunter appears, Orton gets out of the ring and makes a beeline towards him. Orton meets HHH halfway up the aisle but Orton's punch is blocked and Hunter gets the advantage. Triple H then whips Orton back-first into the entrance barriers before striking him as Orton crawls away. Orton ends up near the timekeeper's area and Triple H clotheslines him over the barricade. Triple H then clears off the RAW announce table but when he goes to get Orton, Orton thumbs him in the eye. Orton then gets back on the right side of the barrier and goes to bounce Triple H's head off the table but Hunter blocks it twice before turning the tables on Orton. Triple H then rolls Orton on top of the table but when he gets on it himself to most likely attempt a “Pedigree,” road agents and extra referees come out to put an end to it and pull Orton off the table. Hunter tried to get by but Orton was back to his feet and stumbled as far away as he could from Triple H. RAW goes to a break as Triple H yells at Orton as he heads to the back.

COACH MAKES MAIN EVENT (88%)
Back from the commercial break, a recap of what just happened is shown. When the replay ends, Randy Orton is shown storming into RAW General Manager, Jonathan Coachman's office and yells “DID YOU JUST SEE THAT OUT THERE?” Coach tries to calm him down but Orton is heated because of his title opportunity later tonight and he says that they have to delay the title match until Sunday. Coach declines the request and Orton goes off saying Triple H's attack puts him at less than 100% for tonight and demands the match take place at Armageddon. Coach asks Orton if that is a threat and Orton flares his nose as he looks at the RAW GM. After a few seconds of awkward silence, Coach says that the fans are expecting a big-time Main Event tonight so with that said, it will be Randy Orton vs. Triple H in tonight's Main Event! Orton freaks out but Coach says he's not finished. Coach says if Triple H wins tonight, he will be added to the Armageddon Title Match and it will be a Triple Threat Match for the WWE Championship. Orton looked like he wanted to scream at Coach but just stormed off in a huff.

MATCH 1: JEFF HARDY VS. CODY RHODES – INTERCONTINENTAL CHAMPIONSHIP TOURNAMENT SEMIFINAL (74%, 2*)
The opening contest for Monday Night RAW was one of the two semifinal matches in the IC Title Tourney. The high-flying, daredevil, Jeff Hardy would take on second-generator superstar, Cody Rhodes. The two tapped hands as the bell rang to show some sportsmanship and Hardy would get on the offense early, grounding Rhodes with an unorthodox drop-toe hold. Hardy would dropkick Rhodes in the face and then hit his signature leg drop to the midsection. However, Rhodes would turn it around after Hardy went for an inverted Atomic Drop and Rhodes landed on his feet behind him and hit a Russian Leg Sweep. Cody then showed that Hardy wasn't the only on who could take to the air and got a near fall on a diving crossbody. After a few more minutes of action, Hardy got the upper-hand, catching Rhodes with a sitout jawbreaker. Hardy went to the top to hit a 'Swanton Bomb' but Rhodes moved out of the way and Hardy crashed hard. Both men were down but got up at the same time and Rhodes applied a surprise inside cradle to get the 1...2...3! A big upset! Rhodes would get his hand raised and Hardy would show respect by shaking his hand and wishing him well in the finals.

'THE RENEGADES' BACKSTAGE INTERVIEW (87%)
A shot goes backstage where Todd Grisham is with 'The Renegades.' Grisham asks the duo about the tag team match that has been added to Armageddon. It will be Lance Cade & Chris Harris vs. Trevor Murdoch and a partner of his choice. The match was a challenge by Murdoch and Cade scoffs and says that on Sunday, Trevor Murdoch will have his last night of relevance. Cade says he can't wait to move on to bigger and better things. Harris then cuts in and talks about showing what they are capable of tonight when they put a beating on “those thugs” called Cryme Tyme. That tag match will happen later tonight.

MATCH 2: BETH PHOENIX VS. MARIA W/SANTINO MARELLA (57%, 0.5*)
Beth Phoenix was in action for the first time since her injury, taking on Maria with Santino Marella in her corner. Women's Champion, Candice Michelle was also present, joining JR and King on commentary. King asked Candice some tough questions about Beth, basically asking her if she was afraid of what would happen on Sunday. Candice talked a strong game but watched as Beth completely wrecked Maria. Beth then finished the match off by pointing toward Candice, hoisting Maria in the air, and holding her up for many seconds before dropping her with a chickenwing facebuster. Beth casually covered Maria while staring into Candice's eyes as the three count was made. Phoenix then stared at Candice intently as her hand was raised, and Candice definitely looked worried.

CENA'S THOUGHTS ON MAIN EVENT (95%)
WWE Champ, John Cena is now with Todd Grisham and is asked about the new Main Event. Cena says he's not surprised that Orton did what he did and he's not happy that he can't defend his championship tonight. Cena then says as far as Triple H goes, he doesn't care what happens tonight. Cena says regardless if it's a singles match or a triple threat match or hell a sledgehammer on a pole match, he will do what he's been doing for the last year plus and that is to fight every match like his life depends on it, and defend the richest prize in the WWE because THE CHAMP IS HERE!!!

MATCH 3: THE RENEGADES [LANCE CADE & CHRIS HARRIS] VS. CRYME TYME [SHAD & JTG] (60%, 1*)
The Renegades took on Cryme Tyme in the next contest and right away it appeared that Cade & Harris had great chemistry. They isolated the smaller JTG from his partner and pulled off a ton of power moves to wear JTG down. Later in the match, JTG would hit a leg lariat to Cade which allowed him to make a hot tag to the big man, Shad. Shad came in on fire and low-bridged a charging Harris, causing him to fly over the top rope. Shad then hit a big boot on Cade while JTG hit a suicide dive on Harris on the outside. After a few clubs to the back, JTG got on the apron and Shad tagged him in. Shad picked up Cade in a fireman's carry and it appeared they were going to try and hit their double team Samoan Drop/front flip neckbreaker combo they call the 'G9' but Harris got back on the apron and viciously knocked JTG off the turnbuckle. JTG spilled to the floor, bouncing face-first off the barricade and this delay allowed Cade to rake Shad's eyes and get down from his grasp. Cade then hit a massive lariat knocking Shad out and covered him for the three-count.

HBK CATCHES UP WITH HHH (90%)
The camera cuts to the locker room where Triple H is sitting down, applying wrist tape, when he rises to his feet upon seeing Shawn Michaels. The two exchange pleasantries and Shawn asks Hunter how he's feeling. Triple H is in business mode tonight and tells HBK to watch later as he'll show Shawn just how well he's feeling when he whoops Randy's ass. HBK is hyped and cheers HHH on as Trips walks out of the picture.

MATCH 4: BOBBY LASHLEY VS. DREW MCINTYRE W/WILLIAM REGAL – INTERCONTINENTAL CHAMPIONSHIP TOURNAMENT SEMIFINAL (61%, 1*)
The second semifinal match in the IC Title Tourney was next as Bobby Lashley took on Drew McIntyre. McIntyre was accompanied to ringside by his mentor, William Regal. McIntyre held his own with Lashley but for the majority of the contest, Lashley would continue to shut down McIntyre when he would gain momentum. Towards the end of the match, Lashley countered McIntyre's next move into an overhead belly-to-belly suplex. Lashley then went into the opposite corner to set up for a Spear but this is when Regal decided to get involved. Regal was pounding on the apron, yelling at McIntyre to warn him about Lashley's Spear attempt. Regal then decided to take matters into his own hands and get on the apron, prompting Referee Jack Doan to come over. With McIntyre getting to his feet, Lashley still went for a Spear but ran into a right hand from McIntyre. Lashley was out cold. What happened??? McIntyre made the cover and got the victory in another shocking upset. Regal entered the ring and celebrated with his young understudy and then replays of the finish showed what happened. JR was disgusted when he realized that Regal slipped McIntyre a set of brass knuckles and that's what knocked Lashley out. Referee Jack Doan missed it as he was dealing with getting Regal down and McIntyre slid the weapon into his tights before making the cover. It will be McIntyre vs. Cody Rhodes for the Vacant Intercontinental Championship at Armageddon.

***MAIN EVENT*** MATCH 5: TRIPLE H VS. RANDY ORTON (91%, 3.5*)
After a commercial break “Burn In My Light” hits and Randy Orton makes his way down to the ring. Triple H then makes his entrance and if he wins, he will be added to the WWE Championship Match at Armageddon. Orton wasted no time and actually interrupted the signature water spit, knocking him off the apron as he went to do it. The match didn't officially get underway for another 3-4 minutes as Orton took advantage of the cheap shot and started beating up on HHH outside. With Referee Mike Chioda demanding Orton bring the action into the ring, Orton disregarded and threw Hunter shoulder-first into the ring steps. Orton then went over to the timekeeper's area and grabbed a steel chair. Triple H was using the steps to regain his footing and Orton went to swing, trying to bash Hunter's head but Triple H moved and Orton swung and missed, hitting the stairs. This caused Orton to drop the chair and shake his hands as the vibration hurt. Triple H then took over knocking Orton down with a right and then bashing his head off the ring apron multiple times. Triple H then went under the ring to grab a SLEDGEHAMMER! but Orton crawled into the ring and when Triple H entered the ring and tried to use it, Chioda said to drop it and rang the bell to officially start the match. The two went another 10 or so minutes trading control of the match and the ending came after Orton hit his inverted headlock backbreaker. Orton then went to the ground and started pounding the mat, waiting for Triple H to get up. Orton went for an 'RKO' but Triple H shoved him away and when Orton charged back at him, HHH hit a Double-A Spinebuster. Triple H waited until Orton got to his feet and booted him in the gut. Trips hooked the arms and went for a 'Pedigree' but Orton twisted out and hit an 'RKO.' Orton went to cover Triple H but the momentum of the move caused Triple H to roll under the bottom rope and fall to the outside. Orton couldn't believe it as he went out to roll Triple H back in. Orton then started getting that look in his eye again and lined up for a punt. With JR screaming on commentary that someone has to stop this, Orton started his punt attempt but Triple H moved his head and then caught Orton with a 'Pedigree.' Triple H made the cover and now the WWE Title Match at Armageddon is a Triple Threat Match!

FACE-OFF TO END RAW (97%)
Triple H had little time to celebrate as “The Game” was quickly interrupted by “My Time Is Now.” The champ, John Cena made his way down the ring and he and Triple H stood face-to-face and started talking. Cena raised his WWE Title but then moved Triple H out of the way as Randy Orton was back up and tried to hit Hunter from behind. Cena would nail an 'F-U' on Orton but then turn around to get hit with a 'Pedigree' by Triple H. HHH grabbed the WWE Title and did his signature arm raise taunt as the show ended.


FOLEY IS GOOD! (84%)
After the ECW opening intro, ECW GM, Mick Foley made his way out to the ring. Foley discussed the spoiled ending to last week's #1 Contenders Match and says that tonight we are going to have a Triple Threat Match to determine who will face CM Punk for the ECW Championship at Armageddon. Foley says this way, business will be handled in the ring and there will not be any disqualifications in this match.

MATCH 1: MIKE KNOX VS. MATT HARDY (69%, 1.5*)
Mike Knox took on Smackdown! superstar Matt Hardy in the opening contest. Both men traded control of the match but it looked as if Knox was going to put it away after catching Hardy with a nasty bicycle kick to the face. However, when Knox was setting up for his finisher, the 'Knox Out,' The Miz's music hit and Miz ran down to the ring. Miz feigned getting involved in the match but Knox took his focus off of Hardy and after tuning back around, he ran into a boot and a 'Twist of Fate.' Hardy made the cover to get the win. As Hardy celebrated, Knox came to and gave Miz a death stare and Miz smirked as he backed up the ramp.

DREAMER PPV OPEN CHALLENGE (74%)
Tommy Dreamer's theme hits and the Hardcore Champion makes his way down to the ring. The 'Heart and Soul of ECW' asks for a microphone and says he would like to take his open challenge to PPV and puts his Hardcore Title on the line at Armageddon. Moments later the music of Matt Striker hits and Striker interrupts. Striker is not happy about last week and tells Dreamer to scram as he is planning on holding a protest in the middle of the ring until Mick Foley apologizes for his actions. Dreamer is intrigued as he stands in the corner and watches as Striker grabs a steel chair and sits down in the middle of the ring. After Striker calls out Foley again, Dreamer stops him and tells him he still needs a challenger for tonight. Striker initially declines but then Dreamer pulls the chair from under Striker and he falls rear-first on the mat. Striker takes off his suit and says he'll take that Hardcore Title.

MATCH 2: TOMMY DREAMER VS. MATT STRIKER – HARDCORE CHAMPIONSHIP (68%, 1.5*)
Referee Marty Elias runs down to the ring and we have an impromptu Hardcore Title Match. As you would imagine, Dreamer had a ton of fun beating up on Striker. Highlights included Dreamer tossing a trash can over Striker's head and hitting it with a kendo stick a few times, taking off Striker's belt and whipping it with him, and then finishing him off with a DDT on the steel chair Striker introduced into the ring.

MATCH 3: ELIJAH BURKE VS. JOHNNY NITRO VS. PAUL BURCHILL – #1 CONTENDERS MATCH FOR THE ECW CHAMPIONSHIP (69%, 2*)
The Main Event was next as a Triple Threat Match would happen to determine who would face CM Punk for the ECW Championship at Armageddon. The match started with both Burke and Nitro going after Burchill, not forgetting what he did to both of them last week. After knocking Burchill out of the ring, Nitro and Burke went at it for a couple of minutes before Burchill re-entered the fray and clocked Burke in the back of the head. Burchill suplexed Burke on top of a downed Nitro and then grabbed Burke and hit a standing moonsault slam dubbed the 'C4.' Burchill only got a near fall and set up for a 'Curbstomp' but Nitro intercepted and knocked Burchill down with a spinning wheel kick. Nitro then went over to Burke, who was near the ropes, and hit 'Starship Pain' but got a near fall. Nitro then hit his springboard roundhouse kick to Burchill, which is now called the 'Flying Chuck.' This knocked Burchill out of the ring and Nitro and Burke were left to fight. However, Burke hit a striking combination which ended with an uppercut, knocking Nitro into the corner. Burke then set up for the 'Elijah Express' but as he charged, Burchill grabbed Nitro's legs and tripped him. This caused Burke to slam his knees into the turnbuckle and fall to the mat while Burchill pulled Nitro out of the ring and sent him into the barricade. Burchill then got back in the ring and finished Burke off with a 'Curbstomp' to get the win and become the #1 Contender.

NOT WAITING FOR SUNDAY! (88%)
Paul Burchill had his hand raised by senior official Scott Armstrong but didn't get to celebrate long as ECW Champ, CM Punk headed down the entrance aisle. Burchill looked ready to go but when Punk entered the ring, Burchill dropped down and rolled out of the ring. Punk then challenged Burchill to get back in the ring but Burchill pointed to his head and said he would wait until Sunday while smirking in Punk's direction. The camera shot went alternated between the two talking trash as the show closed.


LAST WEEK ON SMACKDOWN! (79%)
Smackdown! kicked off with a video recap of last week's show where Ric Flair and Rey Mysterio, subbing for an injured Batista, lost the WWE Tag Team Championship to Hawkins & Ryder because of Chavo Guerrero's interference.

THE RATED-R SUPERSTAR RETURNS! (96%)
“Metalingus” then hits and the crowd goes crazy as the 'Rated-R Superstar' Edge makes his return. Edge hasn't been seen since losing the Hell In A Cell Match against The Undertaker at Survivor Series. Despite being a heel, Edge is cheered in his home country. Edge gets “Welcome back” chants and says he's happy to be back. Edge says while he was away something very exciting happened. Edge says everyone is probably wondering while he is out here alone but that is because he wanted to introduce the NEW WWE TAG TEAM CHAMPIONS...HAWKINS & RYDER!!! The new tag champs come out to new music (“In The Middle Of It Now”) and Edge hugs both of them when they enter the ring. Edge then says how proud he is of them and mentions how in just a couple of months, he has turned these two into winners. Hawkins & Ryder give all the credit to Edge, sucking up as much as they could, and that is when the famous WOOOOOOOO!!! is heard. Ric Flair's music hits and he has had enough of this. Flair talks about wanting a rematch tonight but Edge tells the old man to simmer down. Edge says that the trio is going out to celebrate tonight and that they are not fighting, let alone defending their titles tonight. Flair then challenges Edge to a match tonight and goads him in by mentioning that the last time he was in the ring, The Undertaker took him to hell. That didn't sit right with Edge and he chirped back and said he'd like to make the next memory of Edge being retiring Flair for good. Flair says to try me and we have a match for tonight!

WORLD TITLE MATCH ANNOUNCED! (91%)
Back from a commercial break Michael Cole and Ernest 'The Cat' Miller mention the big news that broke mid-week on WWE.com and that is after 'Taker's appearance last week during Jericho's 'Highlight Reel,' Smackdown! GM Teddy Long has made a match official for Armageddon: Chris Jericho vs. The Undertaker for the World Heavyweight Championship. This will be the first time both superstars will face each other in a 1-on-1 match and Cole and Cat share their excitement on the news.

MATCH 1: MARK HENRY VS. LOCAL TALENT (57%, 0.5*)
United States Champion, Mark Henry, was in action to kick off the in-ring portion of the show. He took on a local talent that was not too much smaller than 'The World's Strongest Man' but Henry would not have any issues and quickly defeated him by hitting a 'World's Strongest Slam.'

CHAVO RUBBING IT IN (70%)
Backstage, Chavo Guerrero is back in the office of Teddy Long, talking to his Aunt, Vickie Guerrero. Vickie visibly shudders when she sees her nephew and Chavo is in her to brag about what he did last week. Chavo says that's nothing compared to Sunday when Rey Mysterio will no longer be a member of the Smackdown! roster. Vickie comes back to Chavo and tells him she can't wait until he's out of her hair. Chavo laughs it off as he leaves.

QUIT COMPLAINING! (87%)
Back from a commercial and Teddy Long is back in his office asking Vickie about what Chavo just said when both MVP and JBL enter his office. Both men are upset about the fact that Teddy gave Undertaker the World Title shot and Long tells them to quit complaining. Long mentions that JBL lost to Kane last week and MVP already had his shot and lost last month. Both men still chirp at the same time and Long tells them enough and makes a tag team match for tonight's Main Event. MVP & JBL vs....THE BROTHERS OF DESTRUCTION! MVP and JBL can't believe it and argue a bit more as Long points for the duo to leave.

MATCH 2: JAMIE NOBLE VS. NUNZIO (69%, 2*)
Cruiserweight action was next as Jamie Noble took on Nunzio. The Amazing Red sat ringside to watch the match and saw a really solid bout between the two, who were showcasing in front of the champ in hopes of a potential opportunity. Towards the end of the match, Sonny Siaki walked down to ringside and got in the champ's face. Red stood up and stood face-to-face with Siaki but Sonny shoved Red on his rear. Nunzio was in control of the match but was distracted by all the commotion happening on the outside. Nunzio went for his tornado single arm DDT he calls 'Arrivederci' but Noble reversed and threw Nunzio off, causing him to land hard on the mat, face-first. Noble then locked in a Dragon Sleeper and got Nunzio to tap to get the win. As Noble celebrated, on the outside Siaki had already walked away but Red was not happy about what happened.

MYSTERIO APOLOGIZES TO FLAIR (87%)
Ric Flair is shown backstage getting ready for his match coming up next when Rey Mysterio walks in. Rey reiterates his apology from last week for costing Flair and Batista the tag titles. Rey says his business got in the way and for that, he's sorry the titles became collateral damage. Ric tells him he appreciates it but it's not necessary and that it's okay. Rey then asks Flair if he's ready for his match tonight and wonders if he needs any backup since it's assumed Hawkins & Ryder would be out there. Flair tells Mysterio that he's good and insists he can handle business himself. Flair walks away as his match is after the break.

MATCH 3: EDGE W/HAWKINS & RYDER VS. RIC FLAIR (82%, 2*)
Ric Flair vs Edge was next and 'The Rated-R Superstar' was a little rusty coming out the gate as Flair chopped away and Edge went to the outside to take a breather. Flair then hit a delayed vertical suplex on Edge and followed it up with a knee drop. 'The Nature Boy' was in firm control until Hawkins & Ryder got involved for the first time and distracted Flair, allowing Edge to turn the tables. Edge would hit the 'Edge-O-Matic' rear mat slam to get the upper-hand and beat up on Flair for a bit. Edge then sent Flair off the ropes and threw him up and over with a back drop. Edge got set up in the corner for a Spear but Flair moved out of the way and Edge bumped his head off the middle turnbuckle. Flair tried to pin with a school boy but Edge just kicked out in time. Flair then stayed on the attack and went for a Figure-Four. Flair locked it in and Edge started screaming as Flair shook his head violently, trying to apply more pressure. Edge tried crawling backward on his hands and as he scooted closer to the bottom rope, Zack Ryder pushed the rope forward, making it easier for Edge to grab and earn a break. Flair held it in until a 4-count and when he broke, Edge pulled himself to the outside. Flair went to the outside but Hawkins & Ryder tried to shield their leader and Flair knocked them both to the ground with his right hand. Flair then walked over to Edge but Edge grabbed him by his tights and Flair bounced face-first off the steel steps. A limping Edge rolled Flair back in the ring and then waited for him to get to his feet before nailing 'Naitch with a Spear. Edge grabbed his leg for a second before hooking the leg and getting the win over Flair. Post-match, Edge called for Hawkins & Ryder to grab a couple of steel chairs in the ring but before Edge could set up a 'Con-Chair-To,' Rey Mysterio ran out and chased the trio off.

Y2J BACKSTAGE INTERVIEW (89%)
Josh Mathews is backstage with the World Heavyweight Champion, 'Y2J' Chris Jericho. Mathews goes on to ask Y2J about having to face The Undertaker in just 2 days for the World Title. Jericho says it's going to be tough but this is what he came back to the WWE for. Jericho mentions he's never faced 'The Deadman' and while this will be a challenge like no other, what's the point of coming back if you are going to take the easy road. Jericho says that 'Taker better bring his best because on Sunday, Y2J is going to show everyone why he is 'The Best In The World.'

WHO WILL BE THE FIRST DIVAS CHAMPION? (81%)
Michael Cole and Ernest 'The Cat' Miller then go over the match card for Armageddon as on-screen graphics coincide with their review. The two big matches are Y2J/Taker for the gold and Rey vs. Chavo where the loser will leave Smackdown! However, some more emphasis is put on the inaugural Divas Championship Match between Michelle McCool and Victoria. This leads to a short video package highlighting the importance of this contest on Sunday.

***MAIN EVENT*** MATCH 4: THE BROTHERS OF DESTRUCTION [UNDERTAKER & KANE] VS. JBL & MVP (86%, 2.5*)
The Brothers of Destruction took on the team of JBL & MVP in the Smackdown! Main Event. JBL & MVP shared the common ground of being upset about Undertaker getting the World Title shot but they rarely, if ever, teamed together. Not having that chemistry came into play as the two argued at times about getting in the ring. That being not wanting to be tagged in because facing Kane or The Undertaker is not an enviable position. The Brothers of Destruction controlled the majority of the match and MVP spent a good amount of time in the clutches of both men. MVP would finally get out of the blocks by sliding off of a Kane powerslam and then dropkicking 'The Big Red Machine's' knee when he charged back at him. MVP then hit a DDT to Kane, who was on one knee and went to tag in JBL. Kane also made the tag, and Undertaker came in on fire, with the crowd going nuts. 'Taker knocked JBL down before making sure MVP didn't try to re-enter the ring. 'Taker then picked JBL and hit 'Snake Eyes' before running off the ropes and hitting a massive big boot. Undertaker did his signature cutthroat taunt and waited for JBL to get up as MVP entered the ring again. This time though, Kane got in and cut MVP off by grabbing him by the throat. The Brothers of Destruction would then hit stereo finishers, Kane, a chokeslam to MVP, and 'Taker, a 'Tombstone Piledriver' to JBL. Undertaker made the cover by crossing JBL's arms and got the win for him and his brother.

STARING DOWN THE BARREL (95%)
The Undertaker's theme began to play as 'Taker and Kane stood victorious in the middle of the ring. 'Taker was about to do his signature winning pose but as he bent down on one knee, “Break The Walls Down” interrupted and Chris Jericho made his way to the ring. Y2J showed no fear and entered the ring with his World Title in hand and went face-to-face with 'Taker, despite the height disadvantage. Kane looked at the development and decided to exit the ring and Smackdown! ended with Jericho raising the World Title high as he and 'Taker had a stare-down.
