Yuke's Takes Over NJPW Video game company Yuke's has agreed to purchase the downtrodden NJPW from Antonio Inoki. After the takeover, management gave notice to head booker Riki Choshu, fired Inoki and sent his son Simon Kelly-Inoki home. | New CEO in NJPW

"Fumihiko-san, I will bring New Japan into the 21st Century pro wrestling. We need to bring style and flash to New Japan pro wrestling. For the first time, we're going to put homegrown New Japan talent first. No more overpaid Gaijin on top". Vader says. He takes a swig from the Boss Coffee on his desk.
"What will do with Champion Lesnar-san? Will Brock drop the title"? Fumihiko asks. "I like big guys. I want to push big guys like Lesnar-san in New Japan. I don't want Junior pro wrestlers to win the World Heavyweight title. Right now, I am not yet able to make a decision on the World Heavyweight Champion" Leon responds. |

The roster, in that time, isn't the best thing in the world. But it wasn't bad either. The best thing about the roster is probably the Jr. Division (it seems odd that Tanahashi is there, as he was already a member of the Heavyweight higher-ranks). With all that said... Masato Tanaka MUST be pushed!!!

Masato Tanaka MUST be pushed!!! Good to hear! Hope you enjoy the diary! I don't have a ton of familiarity with puroresu. I do have some understanding of Japanese culture (and some faint language skills from classes years ago). I've watched a fair amount of 90s WCW -- which had a fair amount of former NJPW talent working for them -- so I plan to draw somewhat from that for the diary. I've had a lot of fun with the save and hope that reflects in the writing. -KYE |
