HULK HOGAN WINS BACK THE WWF CHAMPIONSHIP FOR THE THIRD TIME January 3, 1987
On the first 1987 of Saturday Night's Main Event, the rivalry between Paul Orndorff & Hulk Hogan continued brewing in a Steel Cage Match for the title. In the middle of the match, both Orndorff & Hogan escaped the cage, the referees raised both men's hands, but the match was ordered to continue. Orndorff had control of the match but Hogan made a major comeback and dropped the leg on Orndorff busting Orndorff open. Hogan attempted to escape the cage with Heenan grabbing Hogan by the ankle. Orndorff attempted to climb the cage himself but Hogan grabbed him and took Orndorff down and then after threw Heenan into the cage. Hogan then climbed the cage with Orndorff attempting to go for the door but he was too late as Hogan successfully climbed the cage and won the WWF Championship for the third time making him the first man to become the first ever 3-time WWF Champion!.

ANDRE TURNS ON HOGAN AND CHALLENGES HIM TO A TITLE MATCH AT WRESTLEMANIA III February 7, 1987
Questions needed to be answered for what happened between the status and the friendship of Andre The Giant & Hulk Hogan since Andre's return at the 1986 Survivor Series and questions lied about who brought Andre back, rumours stated that Hulk Hogan did not bring Andre back, But someone had brought Andre back, and after months of speculation, it all led to a very special edition of Piper's Pit with Hogan & Andre being awarded trophies with Hogan gaining a larger trophy for winning the WWF Championship 3 times and Andre earning a very smaller trophy causing Andre to walk off the set. Andre The Giant won the 1987 Royal Rumble Match, and then afterwards. Hulk Hogan came down to try to congratulate and celebrate with Andre but Andre walked out and had not been seen, on a heated confrontation on Piper's Pit between Roddy Piper & Jesse Ventura. Ventura announced that he would deliver Andre The Giant if Piper delivered Hogan to Piper's Pit with Piper accepting. The epic confrontation was about to be underway with Hogan coming out first, and then as Ventura got ready to announce Andre The Giant. Andre came out with Bobby Heenan with Hogan & Piper standing in total awe and shock. Hogan asked what was going on and questioned Andre of what he was doing with Heenan. Heenan said that Andre was sick and tired of Hogan and what he stood for and that for 3 years as World Champion used him, They gave Andre a smaller trophy but it wasn't good enough and then stated that Hogan was jealous of Andre and said that Andre was undefeated for 15 years. Hogan said that when he won the title, Andre poured champagne on him. Heenan replied saying that Hogan never didn't offer Andre a title match. As Hogan tried to talk to Andre. Andre with no remorse challenged Hogan to a title match at WrestleMania III. Hogan was shocked and said "no". Andre then grabbed Hogan by his shirt and ripped his shirt off and tore the crucifix off his neck.

HULK SAYS "YES" TO ANDRE'S CHALLENGE February 14, 1987
1 Week after the Epic Piper's Pit Betrayal. Roddy Piper returned to the pit with a dejected and depressed WWF Champion Hulk Hogan. Hogan came out to the Pit holding his t-shirt and broken crucifix. Piper told Hogan about what was going on with Andre. Hogan refused to answer at first, but then Hogan said that he worshipped the guy and everything he was Hogan wanted to be like him and that is the reason why he came to the WWF. Hogan said that he thought he and Andre were friends and that Andre was a good sport. He knew he couldn't be as big as him, he wanted to be big like him. Hogan said that Andre changed when he was with Heenan and he was a different man, he knew something was different. He knew it was jealousy, greed and money that got to him and the way he pulled off his shirt and ripped the cross off his neck, he didn't tear it off. He tore his heart out, but he could've just took a steak and drive it into his heart. Piper asked if Hogan was going to accept Andre's challenge for the title at WrestleMania III. Hogan led out a mighty yell saying "YES" and then told Andre he would make him pay for turning his back on him and that he'd be the first man in history to break Andre's 15-year undefeated streak.

After his win at WrestleMania III. Piper seemingly "retired" to make a movie in Hollywood.
In Possibly one of the greatest WrestleMania classics of all time between Ricky Steamboat and Randy Savage for the Intercontinental Championship, this match was back and forth.
But in the end it was The Dragon who ended Randy Savage's almost near 1 year reign as the WWF Intercontinental Champion.
With help from Detroit Rock Singer Alice Cooper, Jake Roberts put his feud with Honky Tonk Man to bed by defeating him and then after, Alice & Roberts had a surprise for Honky Tonk Man's manager Jimmy Hart by putting the snake on Hart.
But perhaps the biggest historic main event match to close out WrestleMania was Andre The Giant taking on Hulk Hogan for the WWF Championship. The match belonged to Andre, but the Hulkster mustered the courage to fight back.
And lifted Andre up for the biggest bodyslam in Wrestling History in which he connected, and then with one leg drop, he retained the title over Andre ending Andre's 15 year undefeated Wrestling Streak.
Hulkamania had truly survived WrestleMania III against the eighth wonder of the world Andre, but you can bet that there would be more obstacles for the WWF Champion to have!.

Rematch Set for the Royal Rumble! January 2, 1988
After Hogan's WWF Championship Match with King Kong Bundy. Andre The Giant came out to attack Hogan and choked him for 2 minutes until The Bulldogs, Junkyard Dog, Hacksaw "Jim Duggan". Strike Force, Jake Roberts & Bam Bam Bigelow all came down to stop Andre from going more further to choke Hogan out. After. In December of 1987, Ted Dibiase tried to buy the World Wrestling Federation Championship from Hulk Hogan but Hogan refused to let Dibiase have it. After, Andre choked out Hogan. Dibiase came to the entryway and asked Andre if he was going to deliver the World Wrestling Federation Championship to Ted Dibiase. Andre accepted the deal but said he wanted to beat Hogan for the title first and then he and Dibiase could talk about it, after the show, a battered and angered Hogan challenged Andre for the title at the 1988 Royal Rumble in the WrestleMania III Rematch with Andre accepting, so it looks like the WrestleMania III Rematch as set will it be deja vu?. Or will Andre finally become the WWF Champion?.
