WWF LEGENDS RETURN TO MADISON SQUARE GARDEN FOR THE FIRST TIME August 7. 2000 Commissioner Mick Foley came out and called Triple H. Kurt Angle & Stephanie McMahon's a lovers quarrel to the obsession of the WWF Championship. He called out all three, Foley announced that Triple H & Kurt Angle would be having a match at Summerslam to determine the #1 Contender, but then suddenly Hulk Hogan's music played as he came out to a big ovation in Madison Square Garden. Hogan announced that there wouldn't be a Madison Square Garden party without Hulkamania. Hogan told Foley that if Triple H & Kurt Angle wanted to get their hands on each other at Summerslam. That's fine, but he's been in the back listening about the #1 Contendership and he wants to be a part of the match between Triple H & Kurt Angle. Foley made it official, at Summerslam there would be a Triple Threat Match between Triple H. Kurt Angle & Hulk Hogan and the winner would face the WWF Champion between Chris Jericho or The Rock at the next PPV!.
Also returning for the first time in 4 years. Hot Rod himself Roddy Piper during a WWF Hardcore Championship Triple Threat Match between Steve Blackman. Dean Malenko & Perry Saturn. Malenko won the WWF Hardcore Title, but however. The Music of Roddy Piper hit as he came down. Piper stared down Malenko and poked him in the eye and then grabbed a coconut, the same coconut he used on Jimmy Snuka in 1984 and smashed him in the head with it and then covered Malenko to win the WWF Hardcore Title. But as Piper was celebrating!.
Familiar Music Hit and it was Jimmy "Superfly" Snuka. The two rivals exchanged blows with one another with Snuka getting the upper hand and getting retalliation for hitting Piper with a coconut and capturing the Hardcore Championship himself.
However, Greg Valentine would then show up and capture the WWF Hardcore Championship himself by hitting Snuka with a trashcan.
But suddenly he would lose the title to another returning legend Koko B. Ware
But he would lose it to Brooklyn Brawler with Kaientai on Brooklyn Brawler's shoulders.
But Brother Love showed up and hit Brooklyn Brawler with his book and captured the WWF Hardcore Title. But the Shenagians of the WWF Hardcore Championship in the legends didn't last long as Steve Blackman won back the Hardcore Title by hitting Brother Love with a kendo stick to get the win.
And lastly also returning to accept Trish Stratus's first open challenge title defense was Alundra Blayze. Alundra had everything well under her control and did not seem to lose any ring rust at all. But in the end it was Trish that retained the title.

The newest member of the Right to Censor. Mark Henry aided Steven Richards in his fight against Val Venis forcing Val Venis to be a member of the Right To Censor.
Once again the Ninth Wonder of The World became the WWF Intercontinental Champion by defeating Rikishi & Eddie Guerrero in a Triple Threat Match.
Shane had hell to pay coming his way as Steve Blackman looked to regain the WWF Hardcore Championship once more.
Blackman was totally dominant in this match at every turn.
Shane tried escaping for his life against Blackman as they were 50 feet in the staging area but it was Blackman that threw Shane off the stage by hitting a kendo stick and that allowed Blackman to capture the Hardcore Title once more. The Deadman got his redemption on the 500-pound monster The Big Show who almost injured him & Kane and also cost him the WWF Tag Team Titles at Fully Loaded when The Undertaker choked The Big Show by using a chain in an unsanctioned contest.
Note: (Yes, I know Kurt Angle is bald in this pic when he's giving the anklelock to Hogan, but let's just say he had hair when he cleanly made Hogan tap out to win the match and thus win the #1 Contendership. And Summerslam also featured a new WWF Women's Champion. Lita is now the Women's Champion.
But could Lita's friends, The Hardy Boys win the Tag Team Titles in their first ever TLC Match with The Dudleys & the WWF Tag Team Champions, Edge & Christian.
This no doubt in anyone's mind was the thrill of a Tag Team Match for the titles.
Even WrestleMania history was repeated, but Bubba was able to move out of Jeff Hardy's Swanton Bomb unlike last time.
The finish came when Jeff & D'von were hanging onto the titles as Edge & Christian placed the ladder. Jeff kicked D-Von off the ladder.
But a mid air spear by Edge crashed Jeff to the floor.
Edge and Christian were able to survive that match with the titles intact.
Summerslam capped off with two fan favorites colliding for the World Wrestling Federation Championship, Chris Jericho & The Rock.
This was the match that could've gone either way for either man.
The Rock would deliver a Rock Bottom to Jericho on the announce table, but somehow someway Jericho survived.
The match returned to the ring with the two going at it for ten more minutes with The Rock kicking out of Jericho's lionsault and the Walls of Jericho. And Jericho kicking out of the Rock Bottom and the People's Elbow. And as The Rock went for another Rock Bottom. Jericho countered and hit a modified takedown on The Rock and then followed it up with the Walls of Jericho and The Rock tried escaping again, but Jericho had him right where he wanted him and The Rock had no choice but to tap out.
Just one year since August 9, 1999 after his debut. Chris Jericho had officially reached the mountaintop as he was now the World Wrestling Federation Champion. After, The Rock and Jericho shook hands with Jericho taking in the moment as Summerslam ended.

Tajiri made his return to the WWF and defeated X-Pac to capture the WWF Light Heavyweight Championship
Billy Gunn made his WWF Return to accept an open challenge for William Regal's European Title. Although he performed well. Regal was able to retain the European Title against the savy veteran in Billy Gunn.
After the Brothers of Destruction lost. Kane walked away from his big brother The Undertaker.
Latino Heat finally split up as Eddie Guerrero captured the WWF Intercontinental Championship by betraying Chyna.
There was something to celebrate in the Hardy Household as The Hardy Boys captured the WWF Tag Team Championship over Edge & Christian.
The Rattlesnake made his return to the WWF looking to find out who attempted to run him down at the 1999 Survivor Series. The first 2 people that were accused of running down Stone Cold were the two men that faced off for the Hardcore Title. Shane McMahon & Steve Blackman at Summerslam. Austin stunned them both despite them being innocent.
Triple H who had won the WWF Championship over Chris Jericho was back untop of the mountain as he took on Kurt Angle for the title at Unforgiven to finally put this romantic friendship between him, Kurt & Stephanie to rest.
Angle hit the Game with Triple H's signature sledgehammer but it still wasn't enough to put Triple H down.
A Pedigree by The Game looked to settle things for this feud once and for all.
Then Stephanie McMahon came out and pleaded with the two to stop their fighting.
But then Stephanie committed the ultimate act of betrayal as Angle threw The Game into the ringpost and then SLAP!!!! Stephanie slapped her own husband!.
The two then hugged as Triple H watched.
And then Kurt followed it up with another sledgehammer shot to the ribs and then the Angle Slam.
And with the ultimate betrayal. Kurt Angle became the WWF Champion by defeating Triple H.
But the celebration would be spoiled by Stone Cold Steve Austin who was still looking for the hit and run driver from Survivor Series 1999. Austin then stunned Angle and Triple H both at the same time and also hit Stephanie with the Stunner himself.
The Rattlesnake ended Unforgiven by throwing another beer bash, but there were questions leading to answers, who is the driver?. Was he in the building?.
