Triple H & Stone Cold Steve Austin to retain the WWF Championship
Dean Malenko regained the WWF Light Heavyweight Championship again by defeating Yoshihoro Tajiri
One year ago at Armageddon. Chris Jericho captured the Intercontinental Title and now a year later. Jericho was once again challenging for the title as he took on the Monster Kane in a No Disqualifaction Match.
Jericho was able to survive the Demon and regain the Intercontinental Title for the second time.
Edge and Christian once again regained the WWF Tag Team Titles over The Hardy Boys.
But there were massive implications for the WWF Championship and it featured 6 of the toughest competitors inside Hell in A Cell. Kurt Angle was in for the biggest title defense of his WWF Career facing 5 of the former WWF Champions.
When the WWF called it the PPV Armageddon they were not lying, it was totally Armageddon inside Hell in A Cell, A Warzone to say the least!.
It was brutally gruesome and bloody in the match.
Both men brawled through the inside and the outside of the cell.
It felt like we were seeing World War III in the match.
And when The Undertaker emerged from the top of the cell, somebody was in trouble and that someone was Kurt Angle. Taker chokeslammed the WWF Champion untop of a flatbed that Vince McMahon attempted to use to rip open in the middle of the match.
Even The Rock & Stone Cold went at it with both men exchanging blows with one another.
But by some miracle despite being thrown off a flatbed by The Undertaker. Angle was able to return to the ring and somehow pin Owen to retain the WWF Championship after The Rock hit Owen with the Rock Bottom!.
The Match was a total warzone, but Kurt had to be the luckiest man in Uniondale having gone through 5 Challengers!.

The Dudley Boys once again captured the WWF Tag Team Championship over Edge & Christian at the 2001 Royal Rumble.
Drew Carey was forced to be an entrant in the 2001 Royal Rumble as he was talking to Trish Stratus, then Vince McMahon came backstage and announced that Drew Carey would enter the Royal Rumble Match as the #1 entrant. Then as Raven, the WWF Hardcore Champion laughed at him. Raven slipped on a banana peel and that allowed Drew Carey to pin Raven for the 24/7 rule and win the WWF Hardcore Championship.
Both Jericho & Benoit faced off in an epic ladder match for the Intercontinental Championship.
It was a back and forth contest including Jericho hitting the Walls of Jericho on Benoit untop of the ladder.
But Jericho was able to hang on to the Intercontinental Title by retaining it against Benoit in a Ladder Match.
Kurt Angle wanted to start 2001 off with a bang as the WWF Champion and he would face The Rock for the WWF Title!.
The Rock and Angle put on a good match.
Angle almost had put The Rock away by hitting the anklelock, but The Rock desperately hung on.
But it would be The Rock that hit an epic Rock Bottom on Kurt Angle and thus capturing his third WWF Championship.
The Rock now was headed to WrestleMania 17, but the question remained who would he face off against?
The Royal Rumble kicked off with an unusual #1 and #2. The new WWF Hardcore Champion Drew Carey entered at #1 and Kane became the #2 entrant.
Carey tried bribing Kane with a handshake and money.
But Kane wasn't here for all that. He wanted to win the Royal Rumble, Kane grabbed Carey by the throat and chokeslammed him and then violently tossed him over the top rope to the floor. After as Kane did that. Raven entered at #3 and recaptured the WWF Hardcore Title over Drew Carey, but he too was eliminated by Kane.
Kane was very dominant, it seemed like nobody could stop him eliminating 11 men and lasting all the way to the final 2.
Even The Honky Tonk Man who made a surprise return was one of Kane's victims!.
In the midst of Kane's performance. Triple H & The Rattlesnake squared it off in the 2001 Royal Rumble Match as well.
Also making his return to the Royal Rumble Match was Owen Hart who had miraclously survived that horrendous limousine and forklift accident last December by Stone Cold Steve Austin. Owen & The Game continued their alliance against Austin, but Owen was eliminated by The Undertaker.
And it was down to the Rattlesnake & The Big Red Machine. Kane almost went coast to coast by entering at #2 nearly winning the entire thing eliminating 11 guys including his brother, The Undertaker. Stone Cold meanwhile had eliminated 4 guys including Triple H!.
The Rattlesnake persevered despite being busted open by Triple H & Owen Hart and was able to win the 2001 Royal Rumble against Kane, his third Royal Rumble win in a row, Austin vs Rock was now set for WrestleMania 17!. Stone Cold's comeback had just begun.
