Event: AJPW Super Power Series - Day 14 Date: Friday, May, Week 4, 1999 Attendance: 16,500 in Nippon Budokan (NO VACANCY!!!) TV Rating: 8.92 (6.693,160 viewers) on Nippon TV Show Rating: 95 A*
The show starts off as per usual with the NTV sports march blasting
In a decent match, CIMA defeated Hayabusa in an Ironman match in 30:00 by two falls to one.
This was a very close match as both men got their first falls incredibly early then fought hard for the rest of the bout.
CIMA is 100% the Number 1 Contender now after this great showing as AJPW continues to make an incredible junior division after years of neglect...
Rating: 75 B-
In a bout that had decent wrestling but didn't have much heat, Yoshinari Ogawa and Yoshihiro Tajiri defeated Gedo and Jado in 11:35 when Yoshinari Ogawa defeated Gedo by pinfall with a Backdrop Hold.
Ogawa after the match grabbed a mic and looked around before making a bold call...
"SUZUKI! SAKURABA! WE WANT THOSE ALL ASIA TAG BELTS!!!"
The team doesn't come out for now of course as they have other matters tonight, but a bold challenge from the Ratboy...
Rating: 83 B+
In a bout that had great wrestling and a decent reaction from the crowd, Sternness (Takao Omori, Owen Hart and Tamon Honda) defeated Mitsuharu Misawa, Kurt Angle and Gary Albright in 19:23 when Takao Omori beat up Mitsuharu Misawa so badly that the referee had to stop the match.
After the match, Omori looked around and nodded at Owen for some reason as they left...?
Rating: 88 B+
In a decent match, Tsuyoshi Kikuchi defeated Naomichi Marufuji in 13:09 by pinfall with a Fireball Bomb. Tsuyoshi Kikuchi makes defence number 1 of his AJPW Junior Heavyweight title.
Marufuji and Kikuchi had a nice blitz match for Kikuchi's first defense and Marufuji's first challenge ever!
This really shown how much potential Marufuji has in AJPW.
Rating: 75 B-
In a bout that had superb wrestling and good heat, Vader defeated Toshiaki Kawada in 13:46 by pinfall with a Power Bomb.
Vader beats one of the pillars very quickly...after the match he grabs the mic and says 3 simple words.
"TRIPLE CROWN CHAMPIONSHIP!"
A clearly delivered message...
Rating: 83 B+
In a bout that had superb wrestling and great heat, Minoru Suzuki defeated Jun Akiyama in 26:46 by pinfall.
Suzuki is able to avenge his lose to Akiyama months ago as he looks down at the defeated Akiyama.
He leaves him in the ring and walk out after spitting down at the broken man...
Rating: 94 A
Post match
Before long, Sternness gets into the ring and looks at Jun having lost his 2nd big match in a row now...
Owen and Omori stand over him for a moment before Honda walks over as well to help him up.
They begin to walk out together...
OMORI, OWEN AND HONDA TRIPLE POWERBOMB AKIYAMA?!?!?!?!
Akiyama lays dead on the floor as Suzuki looks back and laughs before walking out...
The rest of Sternness comes out as they dogpile on Akiyama?!?!?!?
Jun is a bloodied mess after a few minutes and of course, nobody comes out to save him...
Omori grabs the mic after the attack and plants his foot on Jun...
"You remember back Jun you said you hadn't forgot about me and invited me to join your group here? Ya know you wanna talk about how you were always Kobashi's second and how you weren't given enough chances?!?! I WAS YOUR SECOND FOR YEARS AS WE HELD THOSE SECONDARY TAG BELTS YOU BITCH! I WAS ALWAYS YOUR SECOND! I WAS ALWAYS THE GUY BEHIND YOU AND NOW I'M TIRED OF DEALING WITH YOU !I'M STARTING A DYNASTY WITHOUT YOU NOW! YOU ****ING LOSER!!"
as those words pierce through the arena, Sternness leave without it's leader, leaving him bloodied as Jun refuses help to the back, holding his hand over his face as Kobashi's word rang true tonight, they did turn on him the first chance they got...
In a bout that had superb wrestling and good heat, Yoshihiro Takayama and Takeshi Morishima defeated Nobuhiko Takada and Akira Maeda in 21:48 when Takeshi Morishima defeated Nobuhiko Takada by pinfall. Yoshihiro Takayama and Takeshi Morishima make defence number 1 of their AJPW Unifed Tag Team titles.
With Williams in the corner of the Triangle, Suzuki-Gun had no chance against them! Suzuki-Gun might be riding on a wave of momentum themselves, but the Triangle is too in sync and in control for anyone to beat them for these belts right now!
Rating: 84 B+
In an exceptional match, Kenta Kobashi defeated Kensuke Sasaki in 25:25 by pinfall with an Orange Crush. Kenta Kobashi makes defense number 1 of his AJPW Triple Crown Heavyweight title.
Rating: 97 A*
As Kobashi begins to celebrate, Suzuki comes out and looks him up and down before pointing to the Triple Crown, Kobashi nods to acknowledge as he celebrates his first defense of his newly won Triple Crown!!!
Prediction Results

Sterness turn! Didn't see that coming but it's exciting. And I like how we're both doing cool stuff with Omori, he's looking like a stud. Also I went to look at what I missed and realized I forgot to do the tag title match

Woah! Kobashi vs. Suzuki seems promising. I can't quite believe it has only happened once in real life. Sterness completely murdered Jun Akiyama and that's also an interesting point. I was kinda thinking Vader would challenge next, as he literally said he was going for gold, but it seems like he'll wait just a little bit before.

UPDATE
Wow so, it's been a minute to say the least. Last we left off Kobashi had officially defended his Triple Crown for the first time. Jun Akiyama was turned on by Sternness. Misawa's head was concussed. And Vader's push was still strong.
If it wasn't obvious by the name change and PFP change, obviously my life has changed a bit. So where have I been?
Well mostly just focusing on my life for a bit, but this diary is something I've truly loved doing for an incredibly long time. To see this silly little project that I started on a Fantasy Booking server back in 2020 be viewed over 20k times is just mind-blowing to me.
This was my first real wrestling diary that I'd done like this, and to see the love others had for it and the stories I'd told with the character's I'd put into it was truly incredible.
The original platform this was done on, I'd started with the 25th Anniversary Show, with the idea that Kobashi won the 98' CC instead of Kawada with Misawa being given the tour off. As a result, the 98' Dome Match between Misawa and Kobashi would be grand.
The inital plan was to run this save for a single year, tell this story between Kobashi and Akiyama, but as my scope got bigger it became obvious that wasn't possible.
The love for the Triangle became obvious on the discord and with the replies I'd gotten, Suzuki as well, Vader, and I could go on, but this story became so much bigger than I'd first imagined.
It's kinda crazy how all the little stories became big stories and how people had their own routes and paths.
Thanks to everyone for supporting this diary up until this point. It means the world to me.
So what now with this diary?
Well, I still have a lot of ideas now going up to the 27th Anniversary Show (and beyond) as well as something incredibly special planned that'll happen soon.
So, expect the next card to be out within the next couple days.
