Attendance: 550 (SELL OUT!)

TV Rating: 0.51 (--)

Match #1: AEW World Tag Team Championship: The Motor City Machine Guns © vs. La Parka Jr./ Octagón

Additional Information: The commentators have been told to talk about La Parka Jr. and Octagón being a successful tag team in AAA, but should not mention their recent victory of the AAA tag team titles so to make sure it does not look like we are burying those belts.

Notes for match: These two teams were told to start the show off with a bang throwing high spots out there in a traditional lucha style sort of match. During the match Alex Shelly should look like he lands awkwardly on his shoulder and favour it for the rest of the match.

Notes about the match: Octagón is starting to slow down with his age, and was showing some exhaustion by the time the match was over, but this was a fun way to start the show off with a lot of action before the Guns managed to defeat the team from AAA who were celebrating just having won the tag team titles in AAA the past week.

Result: In a bout that had a decent reaction from the crowd but sub-par wrestling, The Motor City Machine Guns defeated Octagón & Parka Jr. in 7:40 when Chris Sabin pinned Octagón with a Made in Detroit. The Motor City Machine Guns make defence number seven of the AEW World Tag Team titles.

Grade: 55

Mauro and Callis should hype the Main Event tag team match, but also hype next week’s very special AEW Dynamite that will be the first held north of the border. A special surprise for the fans in Calgary should be promoted.

Match #2: Shawn Spears vs. Tyler Black

Additional Information: AEW World Television Championship Tournament Quarter Final

Notes for match: These wrestlers were given permission to try and steal the show.

Notes about the match: Perhaps the weakest match of the tournament, these two wrestlers still managed to put on a good showing including Tyler Black hitting the move of the night with his Phoenix Splash to eliminate Shawn Spears from the tournament (and send him back to EVOLVE for some more development time).

Result: In a bout that had decent wrestling but little heat, Tyler Black defeated Shawn Spears in 7:39 by pinfall with a Phoenix Splash.

Grade: 57

Taz segment! This time Taz looks at the ladder match, explaining the rules of the belt hanging above the ring and how someone needs to climb the ladder with various shots of ladder matches from the past. The finish of the segment will be Taz talking about how Jeff Hardy has the experience edge with TWENTY-SIX (yes I went back and counted) ladder matches to a whopping ZERO matches for Desmond Wolfe with the ladder stipulation.

Match #3: Lacey Von Erich vs. Maison Rayne vs. Sarita vs. Taylor Wilde

Additional Information: Winner will face Hamda for the AEW Womens Championship at AEW Full Gear

Notes for match: Hamada will come out and stand on the ramp with the AEW Womens Championship to watch this match

Notes about the match: While not everything hit properly, these four women tried to do a lot in this match to impress the fans, before Taylor Wilde got the big victory and earned herself a shot at the AEW Womens Championship, although as she mentioned last week there was something else she still wanted to take care of before AEW Full Gear.

Result: In a poor match, Taylor Wilde defeated Sarita, Madison Rayne and Lacey Von Erich in 11:52 when Taylor Wilde pinned Lacey Von Erich with a Northern Lights Suplex.

Grade: 40

Generation Me will catch up with the Motor City Machine Guns in the back and look worried about Alex Shelley’s injury. While they are talking with him, Paul Heyman will come in and announce that at AEW Full Gear the Guns will face a tag team picked by the fans! The four losers of the AEW Full Gear Cup Quarter Final matches will be put in a vote by the fans, and the winning team will get a shot at the AEW World Tag Team Championshp at AEW Full Gear.

A brief video clip will be shown with Kurt Angle looking like he is about to undergo surgery, although for what is not made entirely clear by the video.

Match #4: AJ Styles vs. Chris Harris

Road Agent: Court Bauer

Notes for the match: Chris Harris happened to be in the area so I figured I would throw him a bone for this match, where they were told to tell a story with AJ Styles being very angry about his loss of the AEW World Championship.

Notes about the match: Chris Harris was definitely still out of shape, as anyone who saw Braden Walker knows, but fortunately AJ Styles was his usual amazing self and he managed to get something decent out of this match.

Result: In a decent match, AJ Styles defeated Chris Harris in 7:51 by pinfall with a Styles Clash.

Grade: 64

After the match Styles should grab a microphone and demand his title shot, which will bring out Mr. Anderson to once again point out that Styles lost and he should be getting the title shot. Finally Paul Heyman will come out and tell Styles that there is no automatic rematch clause in AEW, and that in AEW they only try and give automatic rematches for a good reason, and while Heyman did not like how it happened, the truth is Wolfe beat Styles in the middle of the ring. But…Heyman will say that since both men are worthy of getting a shot at the title, they will face each other at AEW Full Gear and the winner will get the title shot at AEW Slammiversary VIII!

Match #5: Danny Doring vs. Tommy Dreamer

Additional Information: Hardcore Match

Notes for match: A hardcore match to let Dreamer be himself.

Notes about the match: Yup, Doring just does not have it anymore at this was another bad match. And not only that, but Tommy Dreamer was also injured with a Whiplash Neck Strain, but he fought through and managed to get the victory.

Result: In a bout that didn't have much heat and terrible wrestling, Tommy Dreamer defeated Danny Doring in 8:20 by pinfall with a Death Valley Driver.

Grade: 46

After the match The Band will come out, with Nash and Hall surrounding the ring but not wanting to enter lest they get injured before their match next week against Beer Money. With things looking bad for Tommy Dreamer…out will run BRIAN KENDRICK with a Singapore Cane to chase Steiner and Waltman off and stand triumphant with Dreamer.

After the commercial Abyss will be in the ring with Janice and will say it is the last chance for Dr. Stevie to come out like a man, or Abyss would hunt him down. That would bring out Dr. Stevie, Daffney and Raven with Dr. Stevie saying that while Holly and Rhino were injured there was still one man who stood between him and Abyss….and he would be facing Abyss at AEW Full Gear…..in a Raven’s Clockwork House of Fun match! (Raven should look surprised about this announcement, while Abyss will be pleased in the ring stroking Janice)

Match #6: AEW X-Division Championship: Doug Williams© vs. Consequences Creed

Referee: Mark Johnson

Road Agent: Jerry Lynn

Notes about the match: These two really put on a good show, with Creed showing how he has developed and Williams being his usual awesome self. In the end Williams got the pinfall with the Chaos Theory, but it was very close!

Result: In a decent match, Doug Williams defeated Consequences Creed in 10:51 by pinfall with a Chaos Theory. Doug Williams makes defence number three of the AEW X-Division title.

Grade: 60

After the match Homicide will join Doug Williams and it will look like the two are going to injure Creed just like Williams did to Sabu, but The Amazing Red will run out and chase them away while Mauro and Don will talk about the AEW X-Division match that will occur at AEW Full Gear between Williams and Red.

Mike Tenay will have a sit down interview with Beer Money who will lament their year thus far, and how big the AEW Full Gear Cup Tournament is to them as an opportunity to get back in the title picture. Rob Van Dam and Booker T will actually walk on to the set, annoying Mike Tenay and will get in a face to face with Storm and Roode, but RVD & T will back down (RVD is “injured” after all) with Storm getting in his “Sorry ‘bout your Damn Luck” catch phrase.

A clip from last week will show that as The Great Sasuke walked to the back after his loss to Okada he was jumped and attacked by Cody Deaner and Matt Bentley until El Masked Ronin made the save.

Match #7: Christopher Daniels/Frankie Kazarian vs. Mick Foley/Sting

Additional Information: AEW Full Gear Cup Quarter Final Match

Notes for match: Samoa Joe and Jeff Jarrett should come out after the match to have a staredown with Daniels and Kazarian as the show comes to an end.

Notes about the match: What I could not expect when I booked this match, was just how great this match was going to be. It was right up there with Styles/Angle as the best match of the AEW era thus far. What Foley and Sting may lack in athleticism they make up in psychology, with Foley pulling off some great bumps to help put over Daniels and Kazarian along the way. With Daniels and Kazarian picking up the victory it ensured that Samoa Joe would have a shot to get his hands on both of them at AEW Full Gear in the Semi-Finals of the AEW Full Gear Cup.

Result: In a bout that had great heat and good wrestling, The Fallen Angel & Kazarian defeated Mick Foley and Sting in 15:46 when Christopher Daniels pinned Mick Foley with BME.

Grade: 78

In a terrible match, Awesome Kong and Hamada defeated Lisa Moretti and Su Yung in 8:06 when Awesome Kong pinned Su Yung with a Flying Splash. (45)

In a bout that didn't have much heat and terrible wrestling, Brutus Magnus defeated Jesse Neal in 8:29 by pinfall with a Twisting Samoan Drop. (47)

After the match Eric Young gets in the ring to talk about the match between Brutus Magnus and D’Angelo Dinero, an AEW World Television Tournament Quarter Final Match, as well as his own match against Tomko and hyped up “The Rising Son” Okada some more.

In a bout that had sub-par wrestling and non-existent crowd heat, "The Rising Son" Okada defeated Shawn Spears in 7:33 by pinfall with a German Suplex. (41)

Match #1: Brutus Magnus vs. D’Angelo Dinero

Additional Information: AEW World Television Championship Tournament Quarter Final

Referee: Brian Hebner

Road Agent: Jerry Lynn

Notes about the match: The fans in Calgary were immediately given a match in the AEW World Television Tournament to get them off their feet, and maybe they weren’t as into these two men as much as I wanted, but I felt that Magnus and Dinero worked hard to try and get a good match going here. In the end Dinero managed to get the victory and will face the winner of the Eric Young/Tomko match in the Semi-Finals.

Result: In a bout that had sub-par wrestling and little heat, D'Angelo Dinero defeated Brutus Magnus in 13:25 by pinfall with a D.D.E..

Grade: 55

Mauro and Callis should hype the Main Event tag team match, promoting Roode’s Canadian homecoming and the dream match nature of Beer Money facing off against Nash and Hall.

Match #2: Randy Myers vs. Scott Steiner

Referee: Traci Brooks

Road Agent: James Maritato

Notes for match: A story was crafted for this match with Steiner looking like he was going to snap at any moment and grab a weapon of some sort to beat down Myers, before settling down and going back to wrestling.

Notes about the match: As mentioned, the story here was simple with Steiner looking to out wrestle Myers, until Randy managed to get a two count. At that point Steiner left the ring and went and grabbed a steel chair and it looked like he was going to use it, before he was able to calm himself down. But he would go back to the chair a couple more times before he finally just finished Myers off with the a Steinerline and Steiner Recliner.

Result: In a bout that didn't have much heat and terrible wrestling, Scott Steiner defeated Randy Myers in 7:43 by submission with a Steiner Recliner.

Grade: 49

After the match Scott Steiner should grab a microphone and talk about how angry he was that he had to resort to garbage wrestling with weapons to win a match, and that he wants a match with Tommy Dreamer at AEW Full Gear that would be a simple wrestling match. Of course, it is expected that Scotty will say that in his own way, probably using the word “fat” in there somewhere.

Match #3: Daffney {RIP} vs. Tara

Additional Information: Commentary should take a big part of this match to discuss the Abyss/Dr. Stevie storyline at the expense of the action in the ring.

Notes for match: Atter the match Tara should take some time to acknowledge the fans and get them to cheer for her.

Notes about the match: Tara was making her debut after being kept off TV for a couple of months after she had lost the AEW Women’s Championship. This match was just meant to help ease her back into being on screen with a victory over a wrestler the fans would know.

Result: In a bout that had terrible wrestling and non-existent crowd heat, Tara defeated Daffney in 7:50 by pinfall with a Widow's Peak.

Grade: 44

Match #4: Beef Wellington/Rick Victory vs. Cody Deaner/Matt Bentley

Notes for the match: These four wrestlers should lean into their brawling skills to try and make up for the fact that the fans may not care much about them.

Notes about the match: As expected, the fans were not that happy about this match but it was nice to see Cody Deaner get a win in front of his fellow Canadians. The bigger deal will be after the match when Deaner and Bentley challenge El Masked Ronin for a tag match for next week!

Result: In a bout that had terrible wrestling and non-existent crowd heat, Deaner & Bentley defeated Beef Wellington and Rick Victor in 8:30 when Cody Deaner pinned Rick Victor with a Lariat.

Grade: 21

AEW World Champion Desmond Wolfe and Ric Flair will make their way to the ring to say negative things about Jeff Hardy which will bring out……

….CALGARY’S OWN…..LANCE STORM! An exchange of words between Storm and Flair will lead to Desmond Wolfe attacking Storm, before Jeff Hardy rushes out to make the save.

Match #5: Homicide vs. Shawn Spears

Additional Information: Consequences Creed will be at the commentary table as it is announced that Cree will face Homicide at AEW Full Gear to determine the next #1 Contender to the AEW X-Division Championship.

Referee: Earl Hebner

Road Agent: James Maritato

Notes about the match: While Homicide got distracted at times yelling at Creed, at the end of the day Spears had no chance against the veteran and he went down to the Gringo Killer.

Result: In a bout that had sub-par wrestling and non-existent crowd heat, Homicide defeated Shawn Spears in 7:37 by pinfall with a Gringo Killer.

Grade: 54

Mike Tenay will have a sit down interview with Christopher Daniels and Frankie Kazarian, citing that he tried to get an interview with Jeff Jarrett but Jarrett turned him down again. This will annoy Daniels and Kazarian who will point out they have no beef with Jeff, but when Tenay starts to push Kazarian for some answers we will finally get some. Kazarian will talk about how he thought Joe was one of his best friends, but two years when Kazarian decided to walk away from wrestling Joe didn’t try and change his mind, even though he knew how much Kazarian loved wrestling. Instead it was Daniels who had been calling for two years straight begging Kazarian to come back, so when Kazarian did return of course he was going to be loyal to his REAL friend and at AEW Full Gear Joe was going to get what was coming to him.

Jeremy Borash will interview Taylor Wilde who will discuss that the one thing she wants to take care of before getting her shot at the AEW Womens Championship at AEW Full Gear is to get closure when it comes to Rhett Titus so she will challenge him to a match for the next week!

Taz will interview Tommy Dreamer with them acknowledging their history, before Dreamer will accept the challenge from Scott Steiner to a wrestling match with an impassioned speech about how Dreamer is more then just a garbage wrestler. As the scene cuts Dreamer will look at Taz and say “hey, you were pretty good at that wrestling stuff weren’t you…maybe you could give me some pointers?”

Match #6: Brian Kendrick vs. Kid Kash

Notes about the match: A clash of different generations of high flying wrestlers provided a bit of a treat for the fans, who were quite happy to see Brian Kendrick get the victory.

Result: In a bout that had decent wrestling but little heat, Brian Kendrick defeated Kid Kash in 9:41 by pinfall with a Sliced Bread #2.

Grade: 56

After the commercial break Mauro Ranallo will be standing in the middle of the ring which should be sold as a surprise to the fans and he will say something along these lines:

“Thank you, fans, it is wonderful to be here in Canada for this very special first of its kind AEW Dynamite! It doesn’t take much digging to see the long and illustrious history of wrestling in this great country from coast to coast. From the Atlantic Grand Prix Wrestling, to the fabled territories in Quebec where Andre the Giant (yes, that Andre the Giant look it up) and the Rougeau’s and Dino Bravo and so many more managed to bring a Golden Age of wrestling to this country to Toronto….yes, out here we know that they think they are the center of the wrestling universe in Toronto but there is no denying the importance of Maple Leaf Wrestling and the Tunney family. Out west I will always have a soft spot for the company where I first cut my teeth, but when it comes to legacy of wrestling in this country…..look around you. The fabled Corral, this is where Stampede Wrestling would hold its biggest shows every year. Andre the Giant fought here, Harley Race fought here, there was bloody brawls with Abdullah the Butcher, the Junkyard Dog, Jake Roberts and so many more. High flyers like Dynamite Kid, Tiger Mask, Brian Pillman, Chris Jericho and even Jushin Liger demonstrated that wrestling can be great, and it can be fast, and it cane take to the skies…right here! And of course, how could we talk about wrestling in Canada and not mention the Hart family, some of which are here in the front row right now (he will point to Hart family members in the front row). Stu, Bret, Owen, Bruce, Keith, Dean, Ross…every single Hart family member worked in this arena in one shape or another. And it extended from them to family members like Davey Boy Smith, Jim the Anvil and the next generation of Teddy, Harry Smith and even TJ Wilson. So many great wrestlers, what a dynasty…what a legacy. And now….the legacy continues right here in AEW…..please rise and welcome the newest member of the AEW roster….the next generation of this amazing Canadian wrestling history…….

Nattie will be able to thank Mauro for the introduction and then take in the ovation from the fans before speaking about how she has come to AEW because this is where strong, female wrestlers are appreciated not just for their looks, but also for their abilities. She will speak about how everyone talks about how Stu would take on anyone…..except the strongest member of the Hart family, he Grandma Helen. And right here in Calgary, with family and friends surrounding her, Nattie will swear to carry on that legacy, she will make the Hart family proud, and one day she will return to Calgary wearing the AEW Womens Championship and she will celebrate with everyone who has supported her and her family along the way.

Before the Main Event it will be announced that in addition to the final AEW Full Gear Cup Quarter Final Match between Team 3-D and Bad Intentions next week there will be a special tag team Main Event pitting the team of AJ Styles and Jeff Hardy against Desmond Wolfe and Mr. Anderson in a preview of the AEW Full Gear Main Events.

Match #7: Beer Money vs. The Band (Kevin Nash/Scott Hall)

Additional Information: AEW Full Gear Cup Quarter Final Match

Notes about the match: While not the classic encounter that last weeks Main Event was, that doesn’t mean it wasn’t amazing to see these two teams in the ring at the same time. A true dream match up between two of the great tag teams of their respective eras of tag team wrestling. Hall and Nash managed to isolate Storm and worked him over for a bit, but when they got cocky and Storm was able to tag Hall with a Superkick it set up an amazing hot tag to the Canadian Roode and there was no looking back as Beer Money put it all together and got the big victory to advance to AEW Full Gear and the Semi-Finals in the AEW Full Gear Cup.

Result: In a decent match, Beer Money defeated The Band in 15:04 when Robert Roode pinned Scott Hall with a D.W.I..

Grade: 62

Additional Information: AEW World Television Championship Tournament Quarter Final

Notes for match: This match should be presented by the commentators and everyone as a “feud-ender” of sorts dating back to when Rob Terry was kicked out of the World Elite

Notes about the match: A good way to start off the show with the feud between The World Elite and Terry/Tomko coming to the head with Young needing to cheat to win, but win he did and with that he got himself into the Semi-Finals and a match against D’Angelo Dinero.

Result: In a bout that had a decent reaction from the crowd but sub-par wrestling, Eric Young defeated Tomko in 12:43 by pinfall with a Victory Roll after nailing Tomko with a foreign object.

Grade: 53

The big opening from Mauro and Don will focus on the Main Event, AEW Full Gear and a recap video of Nattie Neidhart joining AEW last week in her home city of Calgary, AB with the promise that she will be at AEW Full Gear as a special guest commentator for the AEW Womens Championship match between Hamada and Taylor Wilde.

A backstage segment from a couple weeks ago, filmed in secret, will show Raven getting angry at Dr. Stevie about being forced into a match with Abyss, but Richards has a plan!

Match #2: Abyss vs. Jake Manning

Additional Information: Abyss should making a big deal about leaving Janice at the commentators desk

Notes for match: While not a hardcore match, these two wrestlers were told to have a wild brawl as that played to their strengths.

Notes about the match: A fun brawl that saw Abyss get the big victory he needed before his match against Raven on Sunday.

Result: In a bout that had sub-par wrestling and little heat, Abyss defeated Jake Manning in 7:49 by pinfall with a Black Hole Slam.

Grade: 56

Notes about the match: Not surprising that the fans didn’t care much about this match, but this match was entirely meant to help set up what was to come before the night was over.

Result: In a bout that had terrible wrestling and non-existent crowd heat, "The Rising Son" Okada defeated Jaysin Strife in 7:53 by pinfall with a German Suplex.

Grade: 27

A fun segment will play with Tommy Dreamer trying to learn some amateur wrestling holds with Sting, just to have Mick Foley cut that off to point out how it’s easier to just smack someone with a weapon, while Brian Kendrick looks on shaking his head and having a hard time holding it together.

Match #4: Cody Deaner/Matt Bentley vs. El Masked Ronin

Notes for the match: No specific instructions were given to this fan, but I was curious to see how Liger would build off his excellent match from the past week against James Maritato.

Notes about the match: While not as great as that match, this was actually still a really good tag team match, and the best match of the evening thus far, that certainly impressed me with how smoothy everyone was during the match.

Result: In a bout that had decent wrestling but little heat, El Masked Ronin defeated Deaner & Bentley in 8:14 when Cody Deaner was disqualified when he hits El Vagabundo with a steel chair.

Grade: 61

After the match The Great Sasuke should try and save El Masked Ronin from a beatdown, but he will be intercepted at the entrance by Okada and the two men will fight until security breaks everything up.

Match #5: Bad Intentions (Giant Bernard/Karl Anderson) vs. Team 3D

Notes for the match: Another match where the competitors were told they could go out there and have a brawl.

Notes about the match: These two tag teams know a bit about tag team wrestling and it showed in this match that turned out pretty decent and had the fans guessing right until the end when the team from NJPW pulled off the big victory and earned a match against Beer Money at AEW Full Gear.

Result: In a decent match, Bad Intentions defeated Team 3D in 13:07 when Giant Bernard pinned Brother Devon with a Corner Splash.

Grade: 68

Up next will be the segment with Taylor Wilde and Rhett Titus. Titus will use a microphone to try and put Taylor Wilde down, finally pushing it too far with a sexual comment that will result in Wilde giving him a forearm to the face. The fight will be on, but with no referee out there to actually make it a match, until finally ‘Black Machismo’ Jay Lethal will make an appearance and will end up putting Titus on his back with a Powerslam…..just to have Taylor Wilde connect with the big elbow from the top turnbuckle much to the shock and delight of ‘Machismo’ who will then count the three for Wilde. Taylor will celebrate as the commentators wonder if the same thing will happen at AEW Full Gear.

Jeremy Borash will interview Jeff Jarrett and Samoa Joe, with Borash pointing out that Jeff had asked for Borash over Mike Tenay will Jeff talking about how he had been very annoyed at Tenay “stalking” him. Joe will cut him off with a bit of a sideways glance, before responding to Frankie Kazarian and pointing out he had supported him as a friend, trying to put Frankie’s best interest first, while Daniels only thought about himself. And at AEW Full Gear, Frankie was going to find out why coming back may have been the worst decision he has ever made!

Match #6: Consequences Creed/Super Crazy/The Amazing Red vs. The World Elite (Brutus Magnus/Doug Williams/Homicide)

Notes about the match: Not surprisingly, this match was a really great match, with The Amazing Red and Doug Williams really putting on a great show. Creed once again managed to show his ability to pin Homicide setting up their match at AEW Full Gear.

Result: In a decent match, Super Crazy, The Amazing Red and Consequences Creed defeated The World Elite (Homicide, Brutus Magnus and Doug Williams) in 7:29 when Consequences Creed pinned Homicide with a TKO.

Grade: 70

A split screen interview with Alex Shelly, Chris Sabin and Mauro and Callis will be next as the Motor City Machine Guns talk about the four teams they could potentially face at AEW Full Gear (James Maritato/Kid Kash, Mick Foley/Sting, Kevin Nash/Scott Hall, Team 3D) with the fan vote and they find ways to praise and mock all four teams. As this segment ends a video will be played announcing that a very special guest will be in Chicago to present the AEW Full Gear Cup to the winner of the tournament. While it won’t be announced who that wrestler is the video will contain the song…pomp and circumstance…..

Larry Sweeney will berate Hamada, pointing to what had happened with Taylor Wilde and Rhett earlier as a reason that Hamada needs to get back to listening to Sweeney and staying away from Wilde and Sarita. Hamada will not look impressed, but neither will Kong who will look threatening in the background with saying anything at all.

Match #7: AJ Styles/Jeff Hardy vs. Desmond Wolfe/Mr. Anderson

Notes about the match: There appears to have been something in the water tonight, because this was the perfect capper for the evening as these wrestlers put on an absolutely great match. Styles played his part perfectly as an angry, out of control, wrestler just wanting to get revenge for the way he lost the title. This resulted in Styles distracting the referee and leaving Hardy at the mercy of Wolfe and Anderson. Finally Styles got tagged in, but Wolfe would not tag in to face him, so Styles tagged back out. Wolfe quickly got back in, and Styles waited while Wolfe and Hardy fought, but finally he tried to fly into the ring with a Flying Forearm but connected with Hardy instead. While Hebner got Styles out of the ring, Wolfe was able to then connect with the Jawbreaker Lariat to get the pin fall victory days before AEW Full Gear.

Result: In a bout that had superb wrestling and great heat, Desmond Wolfe and Mr. Anderson defeated AJ Styles and Jeff Hardy in 18:04 when Desmond Wolfe pinned Jeff Hardy with a Jawbreaker Lariat after Jeff Hardy and AJ Styles miscommunicated.

Match #1: Bad Intentions (Giant Bernard/Karl Anderson) vs. Beer Money

Additional Information: AEW Full Gear Cup Semi-Final Match

Notes for match: These two teams should brawl to get the fans engaged into the match.

Notes about the match: This match started off with all four men brawling while referee Brian Hebner desperately tried to get some control. When things settled down, Beer Money managed to keep Karl Anderson isolated with a series of tag team moves. Things turned around when Giant Bernard got tagged in and started throwing his weight around. Near the end of the match it was once again a battle of all four men in the ring with Storm and Giant Bernard battling it out, and Roode and Anderson on the other end of the ring. With Storm and Bernard getting some separation, it was enough space for Giant Bernard to go for a Bicycle Kick, but Storm dropped down and Bernard got caught up in the top rope. That allowed Storm to send him over the ropes and out of the ring. Meanwhile Karl Anderson attempted to connect with a Gun Stun on Robert Roode. Roode managed to push Anderson off…right into a Superkick from James Storm. That allowed the two of them to connect with a D.W.I and the match was over with Beer Money moving onto the Finals!

Result: In a decent match, Beer Money defeated Bad Intentions in 13:26 when James Storm pinned Karl Anderson with a D.W.I..

Grade: 59

Match #2: Christopher Daniels/Frankie Kazarian vs. Jeff Jarrett/Samoa Joe

Notes for match: The focus of this match should be on the story between Samoa Joe and Jeff Jarrett.

Notes about the match: When the bell rang, Samoa Joe was determined to start the match off looking for revenge but he only got a few moves in before Jeff Jarrett called for the tag. Reluctantly, and with a look of annoyance, Joe tagged out so that Jeff could get into the ring. What proceeded was Jarrett taking a lot of time to stall and try to get the fans to cheer for him, including his two fingers pose and a strut off of a shoulder block on Daniels. When Kazarian got tagged in he actually sent Jeff out of the ring and he stopped to talk with the fans. Samoa Joe dropped off of the ring apron and went over and gave him a push before telling him to get his head in the game. When Jeff got back into the ring this continued for a bit longer, until finally Joe made a blind tag and got himself back into the ring. Joe proceeded to wrestle most of the match himself, but that only worked for so long as Daniels and Kazarian managed to work him down. After an STO, Joe desperately tried to make the tag…..but Jeff dropped off of the ring apron and started to make his way to the back shaking hands with the fans on the way. All by himself, Joe fought bravely against his two enemies, but soon the numbers game was too much and Joe was defeated by a Bicycle Kick from Frankie.

Result: In a good match, The Fallen Angel & Kazarian defeated Samoa Joe and Jeff Jarrett in 7:56 when Frankie Kazarian pinned Samoa Joe with a Bicycle Kick. During the match we also had Jeff Jarrett desert Joe.

Grade: 70

Match #3: Consequences Creed vs. Homicide

Additional Information: Winner will be the #1 Contender to the AEW X-Division Championship

Notes for match: These two were told to go out there and have a car crash with lots of spots and chaos

Notes about the match: This match started off quickly with Creed running out for his entrance and sliding into the ring and going right at Homicide who tried to attack him as he was getting in. Punches and kicks were thrown, before both men hit some high risk, high impact moves that kept the match going at a high pace. There was no doubting the intensity as on one Lariat from Homicide, it almost looked like Creed was knocked out. He did manage to recover and even got a close fall off of his Top Ropewalk Elbow Drop. Homicide did manage to eventually go for Da Gringo Killa, only to have it reversed into a very close two and a ½ count. Angry, Homicide came to his feet and grabbed Creed by the hair and threw him very roughly through the ropes to the outside. Without taking a break Homicide followed that up with a Tope Con Hilo, with the momentum causing both men to go crashing through the guard rail and into the front row of the crowd. Both men were down and out, as were some fans who got in the way. In the ring Mark Johnson looked unsure whether he should start a count or go and check on the two men, but he finally settled on starting the ten count. Neither man were able to make it back into the ring and so the match ended in a count out draw! Immediately after the bell started to ring, Mark Johnson did hop out of the ring to go and check on the two men with security and medical personality.

Result: In a decent match, Homicide drew with Consequences Creed in 7:59 following a double count out.

Grade: 60

A quick video on Nattie Neidhart will lead to her coming out to wave at the fans and then replace Mike Tenay at the commentary table for the following match.

AEW Womens Championship

Notes about the match: Unlike previous matches, this match was only intended to be a wrestling match without much in the way of distraction. While they may have missed a move here or there, there is no doubting that both women were working their butts off for the fans. Both women were so exhausted that by the end of the match when Taylor tried to end the match with her Wilde Ride German Suplex she was unable to keep bridged long enough and simply collapsed breaking the hold. Wearily the two fought some more, before Hamada managed to finally take her down with La Ayakita, looking to get the submission victory. Fighting through the pain, Taylor managed to get her foot on the bottom rope causing the break. Reluctantly Hamada dropped the hold which allowed Taylor to roll under the rope to the outside. As the Challenger climbed to her feet, Hamada locked up with her and attempted to bring her back into the ring with a Suplex. Dropping off of the ring apron, Wilde dropped Hamada across the top rope with a Hangman across the top rope. It sent Hamada flying to her back, and Taylor tried to capitalize by going to the top turnbuckle quickly and coming off with a Missile Dropkick…that missed! Landing on her chest knocked the wind out of her, and as she came to her feet she was easily picked up and dropped with a Hamada Driver allowing Hamada to retain the AEW Womens Championship!

Result: In a bout that didn't have much heat and terrible wrestling, Hamada defeated Taylor Wilde in 13:01 by pinfall with a Sitout Scoop Slam (Hamada) Driver. Hamada makes defence number six of the AEW Womens title.

Match #5: Scott Steiner vs. Tommy Dreamer

Notes for match: The story of this match will be Dreamer trying to show himself as a wrestler and not just an extremist.

Notes about the match: This match began with some jawjacking between both wrestlers, before Tommy Dreamer got down on his hands and knees in the referee position from amateur wrestling. Scott Steiner was incredulous, but did eventually try to go down and flip Dreamer over, but Tommy managed to escape from him which angered Steiner. Coming to his feet Steiner unleashed a tirade, before telling Dreamer it was his turn as he went into the referee position. The two men struggled again, but Dreamer managed to get him on his back with a half-nelson. With Steiner only getting angrier, the next lockup was from a neutral position on their feet. After a back and forth struggle, Dreamer actually managed to pick Steiner up and drop him on his back with a German Suplex. This time Scott rolled out of the ring and let loose a bunch of swear words aimed at the announcers table, resulting in a need to bleep them out. When Steiner got back into the ring he was no longer attempting to wrestle, and instead started brawling with Dreamer who was willing to fight back. Impressively at one point Scott Steiner managed to connect with the Frankensteiner, but the momentum was enough to send Dreamer out of the ring. When Steiner was finally able to roll him back into the ring, Dreamer was able to kick out at two. Steiner did his flex and elbow on Dreamer and went for another pin fall, but again it wasn’t enough. Obviously sucking air, Steiner was slow to try and pull Dreamer up which allowed Tommy to change his position and pick Steiner up for the Death Valley Driver! Tommy was worn out and unable to go for the pin, and Steiner rolled out of the ring. When he returned to the ring it was with a Singapore Cane that he had found under the ring. Before Tommy could get out of the way Steiner nailed him in the ribs with the Cane, resulting in an immediately disqualification. That wasn’t enough or Steiner as he used the Cane to lock in a Steiner Recliner, pulling back as far as he could while Dreamer was desperately trying to fight out of it. Finally Scott let go and dropped Tommy, where he yelled at him some more before leaving the ring to go to the back.

Result: In a bout that had good heat and decent wrestling, Tommy Dreamer defeated Scott Steiner in 7:42 when Scott Steiner intentionally got disqualified by using a Singapore Cane on Dreamer, before locking in the Steiner Recliner with the Cane for leverage.

Grade: 60

AEW X-Division Championship

Notes for match: Knowing how great these two competitors are, they were given permission to go out there and try to steal the show.

Notes about the match: While this match was exactly what we would expect, Williams technical wizardly vs. Amazing Red’s aerial expertise, it was also used to highlight Williams mean streak. In this case it meant that while Williams was trying to keep Red grounded, he did so by going after his neck similar to when he put Sabu away at AEW Lockdown. As Don West watched on from the outside, Williams set Red up for a knee drop from the top rope, but he crashed into the mat! That allowed The Amazing Red to come to his feet and turn the tide with a spinning enziguri. Eventually the match came down to Williams connecting with the Chaos Theory, but referee Hebner missed the fact that Red had managed to get a foot up on the second ring rope and the count should not have counted!

Result: In a bout that had good wrestling and a decent reaction from the crowd, Doug Williams defeated The Amazing Red in 13:08 by pinfall with the Chaos Theory. Doug Williams makes defence number four of the AEW X-Division title.

Grade: 73

Notes for match: These two should be allowed to explore their love for hardcore matches in this one.

Notes about the match: Raven had Janice as a distraction hanging as part of the setup for the Clockwork House of Fun match. This resulted in Abyss immediately tying to go for it which resulted in Raven being able to attack him from behind with a garbage can. While Raven used weapons to try and keep Abyss down, finally Abyss did manage to recover and go on the offense and soon it looked like Abyss was going to get the victory. That was until Dr. Stevie interfered with a Stevie-Kick that allowed Raven to get a two count. Two Raven Effect DDT’s on a closed steel chair looked like it would be the end, but still Raven found a way to kick out. Furious, Dr. Stevie interjected again throwing in the back of thumbtacks. But as Raven spread those out Abyss recovered and managed to get his hands on Janice, even with Daffney screaming on the outside. When Raven turned around Abyss took a swing with Janice, that fortunately missed and resulted in Abyss actually losing his grip on Janice as it dropped out of the ring. That did not matter as Abyss managed to end the match shortly after with a Blac Hole Slam into the thumbtacks, looking at Dr. Stevie as he made the pin. But Dr. Stevie had managed to get his hands on Janice, and thus even as Dr. Stevie was retreating he still had Abyss’ deadly weapon in his possession.

Result: In a decent match, Abyss defeated Raven in a 1 vs. 1 Clockwork House of Fun match in 8:18 by pinfall with a Black Hole Slam into thumbtacks.

Grade: 56

Prior to the AEW World Tag Team match the four teams the fans will be voting on (James Maritato/Kid Kash, Mick Foley/Sting, Kevin Nash/Scott Hall, and Team 3D) will be on the stage with The Band and Foley/Sting being on opposite ends) with it being announced that the fans had voted for….Team 3D! As Team 3D heads towards the ring the other teams will start to head to the back, which leads to a brawl starting off when The Band and Foley and Sting get close. Security rushes in to break that up, but it does distract Team 3D who are dived on by Shelley and Sabin to get the match started!

AEW World Tag Team Championship

Notes for match: With the quick start, these two teams were told to go out there and have a wild brawl style of match.

Notes about the match: The early started for the Machine Guns saw that have the early advantage over the veteran tag team of Team 3D. Team 3D tried to slow things down by turning the match into a fight that left the ring and was on the floor, but they just always seemed to be a step behind in the ring and so it was not much of a surprise when the AEW World Tag Team Champions managed to retain, even if they had been surprised by their opponents for the evening.

Result: In a good match, The Motor City Machine Guns defeated Team 3D in 10:27 when Chris Sabin pinned Brother Devon with a Made in Detroit. The Motor City Machine Guns make defence number eight of the AEW World Tag Team titles.

Grade: 74

Notes for match: No special notes were given for these two men as I have the utmost faith in AJ Styles to put on a great match.

Notes aboutthe match: Since Mr. Anderson has joined AEW I have been a bit underwhelmed by his performances in the ring outside of his first match against Kurt Angle. On the opposite end of that, AJ
Styles has been having perhaps the best year in the ring of any wrestler in the history of the company perhaps. Therefore I was not sure which way things were going to go in this match, but boy am I
glad these two were booked against each other as this match blew away just about everything else in the company this year. After the initial distraction of the arrival of Kurt Angle, this match settled into being just about the action in the ring. The story of a fired-up Styles trying to get a shot at the AEW World Championship, whereas Mr. Anderson played it a bit more laid back. There was a bit of everything
in this match as there was some wrestling, some brawling, and some high flying from Styles. The finish of the match saw Mr. Anderson catch Styles coming off of the top rope looking for his Flying Forearm, and Anderson set up for the Mic Check, but Styles managed to block that and reverse into the Styles Clash to earn his rematch for the AEW World Championship!

Result: In a superb match, AJ Styles defeated Mr. Anderson in 17:57 by pinfall with a Styles Clash.

Grade: 84

AEW Full Gear Cup Finals

Match #10: Beer Money vs. Christopher Daniels/Frankie Kazarian

Notes for match: During the match Rob Van Dam and Booker T will be shown watching the match from the crowd

Notes about the match: Prior to the match a modernized version of pomp and circumstances will play and of course out will come “Macho Man” Randy Savage basking in the adulation of the fans while it is announced he will present the winner of this match the AEW Full Gear Cup. This match was not going to be able to follow up after the previous match, but it was still a good tag team match that saw the two teams work an old school tag team style with Robert Roode being the one who was isolated by Daniels and Kazarian. When Roode finally did manage to make the tag to Storm the crowd erupted as the Cowboy ran wild on Daniels and Kazarian. The end of the match saw Storm going for the Last Call Superkick on Daniels, but the veteran ducked it and even managed to sneak in a low blow that referee Mark Johnson missed seeing. Desperately Storm tagged out to Roode, but Roode was still weakened and soon fell victim to the Angel’s Wings ending the AEW Full Gear Cup.

Result: In a bout that had good wrestling and a decent reaction from the crowd, The Fallen Angel & Kazarian defeated Beer Money in 16:03 when Christopher Daniels pinned Robert Roode with an Angel's Wings. The Fallen Angel & Kazarian win the AEW Full Gear Cup.

Grade: 69

After the match “Macho Man” Randy Savage will enter the ring to present the AEW Full Gear Cup, just to be blown off by Christopher Daniels and Frankie Kazarian who will spend a few moments bragging about their “bad intentions” for the AEW tag team division before the segment comes to an end.

A final video will play showing the history between Desmond Wolfe and Jeff Hardy.

AEW World Championship

Notes for match: These two were given the opportunity to put on a spectacle for the fans. A big deal was made by the commentators about the referee for the match, the newest addition to the AEW referee corps….Scott Armstrong!

Notes about the match: Wolfe actually encouraged Jeff to bring a ladder into the ring, so that was exactly what Jeff did. But that allowed Wolfe to attack him, and work him over a bit to start the match without involving the ladder. That did not last long though as the ladder was soon used as a weapon, which was to Jeff’s advantage as the commentators reminded the fans of Jeff Hardy’s experience in ladder matches. At one point Wolfe was on the outside of the ring and Jeff was climbing the ladder when Ric Flair tried to interfere and push the ladder over while Jeff was on it. Instead, Jeff dropped off, gave Flair a kick to the gut and dropped him with the Twist of Fate. As Flair rolled out of the ring, Wolfe rolled back in and the fight was on. Eventually two ladders were wrecked in the fight and both men were down and out. Outside the ring Flair had recovered and was setting up a table. In the ring Wolfe managed to get to his feet first and set up the Jawbreaker Lariat, but Jeff caught him with a Twist of Fate and put Wolfe on one of the ladders that was broken and collapsed. Going to the top turnbuckle….SWANTON! Using his feet Jeff pushed the broken ladder, with Wolfe still out on it, out of the ring dropping both to the ground. He then went outside and grabbed the tallest ladder he could find, sliding it back into the ring. Slowly Jeff started to climb, and the fans were all on their feet as his hand touched the AEW World Championship. Except that was when Flair made his return and pushed the tall ladder over!! Jeff flew through the air and crashed through the table that Flair had set up earlier. With Flair’s help Wolfe made his way back into the ring and made his way up the latter managing to retrieve the AEW World Championship and end the match!

Result: In a superb match, Desmond Wolfe defeated Jeff Hardy in a Ladder match in 18:27 when Desmond Wolfe retrieved the AEW World Championship belt. Desmond Wolfe makes defence number two of the AEW World title.

Grade: 72

After the match Ric Flair will waste no time collecting Jeff Hardy from the wreckage of the table and rolling him into the ring so that Desmond Wolfe could lock the London Dungeon on the injured arm. Suddenly the fans all came to their feet as…..

….GREG HELMS runs out to make the save chasing Wolfe off. The show will go off the air with Helms checking on Hardy, while Wolfe will be walking up the aisle holding the AEW World Championship belt.

Overall Show Grade: 79
