AEW 2010:History Rewritten

Hype for tonight will include the contract signing for the main event of AEW Slammiversary VIII between AEW World Champion Desmond Wolfe and #1 Contender AJ Styles, as well as the tag team main event of AEW Full Gear Cup Winners Christopher Daniels and Frankie Kazarian taking on ‘Black Machismo’ and a mystery tag team partner.  

After the match Melissa Anderson will grab a microphone and called out Hamada, saying that Hamada knew how close Anderson had to come to beating her at AEW Lockdown back in April, and that she thought she deserved one more chance to fight for the belt.  Larry Sweeney, Awesome Kong and Hamada will come out, with Sweeney saying no…but Hamada will block him off, and accept the match for next week with a nod of her head, leaving Sweeney angry again.

Jeremy Borash will be with Jeff Jarrett saying that Jarrett had asked for this time, and now would he actually speak.  Jarrett will open up that Borash had been with him since the very beginning, the second employee hired by NWA: TNA.  From being just a grunt in the back, Borash had worked his way up to being a commentator at AEW Xplosion, and being the backstage interviewer just like his idol Gene Okerlund.  And if anyone should understand, it should be Borash.  Some new owner came in and is trying to erase the history of the company, changing the name to AEW, and forgetting the people who had made this company.  But Jarrett isn’t going to take it anymore, he has come back to save HIS company.  Here Borash will ask “what about Joe? He’s also been here a long time.”  Jarrett will nod his head and agree, and say that next week when Joe returns after having a few weeks off to calm down, Jeff will go out and explain things to him face to face.

As Beer Money come to the back they are getting ready to do an interview for the AEW website when they will be interrupted by Rob Van Dam and Booker T who will mockingly applaud Beer Money for their victory.  This will lead to an argument and a challenge to a fight, but RVD isn’t healed 100% yet so they agree for a match at AEW Slammiversary VIII.  “See you at Slammiversary sucka’s!”

A clip from the AEW website will be shown from last week where Taz stopped Steve Corino as he was coming through the stage after his loss, and Corino will cut him off before he can say much and say that he will be going home to think about his future and that’s all he wants to say at this point.

In the ring will be Brian Kendrick, Mick Foley, Sting and Tommy Dreamer calling out The Band.  This will lead to a challenge to end things once and for all.  It will be 4 vs 4 at AEW Slammiversary VIII with the winners having the ability to each challenge a Champion of their choice once, while the losers will leave AEW!!  After the match is accepted Scott Hall will get on the microphone and issue a challenge to Brian Kendrick for next week so that Hall can put the little “censored* in his place.  

Abyss will come out for his match against Dr. Stevie, who will use Janice to distract Abyss at the beginning of the match.  Before it can even begin Bob Holly used that distraction to slide in from behind and nail Abyss with a steel chair.  Holly will keep on beating Abyss down, before grabbing Janice and nailing Abyss with that in the midsection (which will be padded under his shirt).  Wrestlers will run in to break that up before any further damage can be done to Abyss.

After his defeat last week against Desmond Wolfe, Gregory Helms will be seen leaving the arena on the cell phone apologizing to someone on the phone who the commentators figure was Jeff Hardy.  Helms will return next week!

Mike Tenay will interview Kurt Angle and Charlie Haas, with Haas angrily accepting a match with Mr. Anderson, but Kurt tries to convince him that it is not worth it, but Haas will not allow Kurt to talk him out of it. 

After the match Curry Man will rip off his mask….and it will be Alex Shelley!  Shelly holds Daniels down while ‘Black Machismo’ goes to the top rope, but Kazarian will pull Daniels out of the ring and start to retreat.  Chris Sabin will run out from the back…and so will Randy Savage!!  They will force Daniels and Kazarian back into the ring where both Kazarian and Daniels will soon fall victim to a flying elbow from the top turnbuckle from ‘Black Machismo’.  After they are thrown out of the ring Randy Savage will get into the ring and the four men will celebrate as the show goes off the air.

Hype for tonight will focus on the debut of Charlie Haas against Mr. Anderson.

Backstage Melissa Anderson will hype up her match tonight with Rhett Titus by his side still holding his neck.  Anderson will convince Rhett to stay behind to try and recover after the Diamond Cutter from DDP.

After the match Anderson will sell being injured by Kong which will confuse Hamada, but she will start to put it together when Sweeney and Kong get into the ring.  While Hamada will be yelling in Japanese, it is quite clear she is upset with Sweeney.  At first Sweeney will try and calm her down, but when Hamada pushes him…..he will tell Kong to attack.  Hamada will be taken by surprise and will soon find herself laid out beside Anderson.

Jeremy Borash will be interviewing the winners of the AEW Full Gear Cup, Christopher Daniels and Frankie Kazarian, and they will be joined by Eric Young and Okada.  Everyone, except Okada, will be complaining about masked wrestlers and what cowards they are.

Immediately after the match Samoa Joe will call out Jeff Jarett to have a talk.  When Jarrett walks out he will at first say he wants to talk with Joe, but will then say that Joe is too angry right now and that he is going to talk with him later when he has had the chance to calm down a bit.  That will lead to Joe hopping out of the ring and Jarrett will head to the back that much quicker, pleading off the entire time.

Technique by Taz will feature Taz going through the Sharpshooter with Nattie Neidhart before announcing that in two weeks (the first AEW Dynamite after AEW Slammiversary VIII) Nattie will make her debut when AEW Dynamite will make its debut in Ontario, Canada.  Nattie will then start to get excited as they announce that there will also be an AEW Womens Championship defense that night when a legendary wrestler makes their debut with AEW.  Nattie and Taz announce that wrestler will be announced next week, at this point Tara will walk by showing how annoyed she is about Nattie knowing who it is, and will then make a passive aggressive comment about needing to get to the ring to wrestle.

Getting the victory was not enough for Tara as she pulled Nora to her feet and connected with the Widow’s Peak, before walking away looking angry still.

After the match Hall will manage to get in a couple of Edge’s before Foley, Sting and Dreamer can stop him.

Footage from after his attack on Abyss will show an angry Bob Holly talking to the camera and challenging Abyss for one final hardcore match at AEW Slammiversary VII….”and if I can’t beat you then maybe I don’t deserve to be in this company anymore.”
