Unforgiven 2003 Live from the Giant Center in Hershey, Pennsylvania
RAW PPV
Theme: "Enemy" by Sevendust
Sunday Night Heat Maven vs. A-Train
- After failing to defeat RVD at SummerSlam, A-Train was fuming. Bischoff couldn't grant him a rematch, but he could feed him a body in Maven, albeit on Heat. Maven didn't take this opportunity lying down. He actually managed to get a school boy pinfall over A-Train on the RAW prior in a tag team match. Will Maven ride this momentum to another victory? Or will A-Train steamroll on through him?
Main Card
6-Man Tag Team Tables Elimination Match
La Resistance (Sylvain Grenier and Rene Dupree) and Robert Conway vs. The Dudley Boyz (Bubba Ray Dudley, D-von Dudley, and Spike Dudley)
- These two teams first met in 6-Man Tag Team action the night after SummerSlam. Ever since, things have slowly escalated until Steve Austin made a rematch for Unforgiven in a Tables Elimination Match. However, the story going in isn't just the match itself. Two weeks before Unforgiven, La Resistance injured Spike Dudley's neck with a botched Au Revoir through a table outside the ring. The week after, Bischoff forced Spike to wrestle Conway in another tables match or he'd be fired. Spike wrestled, but after a Powerbomb through a table, is Spike in any condition to compete? Can The Dudleys survive yet another unfair situation? Or can La Resistance continue their domination and once again put down those damn Dudleys?
Billy Gunn vs. Chuck Palumbo
- The night after SummerSlam was a busy night, and it started out in another unfortunate loss by Billy and Chuck. It was one loss too many for Palumbo, who took his frustrations out on his long time tag team partner. The following week, the two men confronted each other, with Billy aware of Chuck's history and that he was frustrated by their recent rollercoaster type success. Chuck agreed to try and patch things up that night, but it was all a ruse. The match started and ended just as quickly when Christian, Storm, and Palumbo unleashed a 3-on-1 assault on Gunn. Chuck was so incensed by Billy that he hit him with a new finisher onto the floor, calling it the Natural Thriller. Chuck debuted a new look the following week, looking not too dissimilar to his time in WCW and the Invasion, before he first started teaming with Billy. He defeated Val Venis the following week, upon which Billy and him started to brawl. Bischoff made this match for Unforgiven, hoping these two tag team partners would settle things in the ring. Can Billy Gunn get revenge on his former partner (in more ways than one)? Or will Chuck Palumbo thrill Billy to defeat and finally bury this part of his career?
Matt Anoa'i, Mark Henry, and Rodney Mack with Theodore Long and Rico vs. Goldust, Val Venis, and Al Snow
- 3 Minute Warning dissolved by way of Steve Austin in early August. Ever since, the newly rechristened Matt Anoa'i has been on a tear. In early September, he started aligning himself with Theodore Long's Thuggin n' Buggin Enterprises. Rico and Long have started getting along, to the point where some those bullied by them have started taking notice. On the RAW before Unforgiven, Austin made this last minute match in hopes of getting some revenge on behalf of those bullied by Henry, Mack, and the vicious Anoa'i. Can the RAW superstars defeat this colossal crew? Or will this newfound alliance topple the RAW team?Goldberg vs. Booker T
- At SummerSlam, Goldberg interfered in the WWE Title Match, costing both The Rock and Booker T the match. This retired The Rock, but Booker T was still around, and wanted revenge for both himself and The Rock. Goldberg didn't answer, but Booker answered for him when he avoided a Spear and hit him with a Book End. Booker stood his ground as Goldberg left the ring. The match was made official the following week. Ever since, Goldberg has tried to Spear Booker, but every time, Booker has avoided it. One week, Goldberg was sent through the barricade. The next, Goldberg was sent through a wall. The next week, Goldberg drove himself off the RAW stage. Finally, on the go home show, Booker went one-on-one with Chris Jericho in a barnburner. It didn't end well for Booker T, who finally was susceptible to a Spear following a Scissors Kick to Jericho. Goldberg beat down Booker, finally hitting him with a Jackhammer in the ring. Can Booker outsmart Goldberg one more time when it matters most? Or will the monster Goldberg continue his undefeated streak by tearing through Booker like he has everyone else in his path?WWE Intercontinental Title
Rob Van Dam (C) vs. Jeff Hardy - RVD has officially been the Intercontinental Champion for over a year. And Eric Bischoff has given up his hunt. He has given total control of booking the title to Austin. Following SummerSlam, he gave four superstars an opportunity at the Intercontinental Title. Christian beat Goldust to advance and the next week, Jeff beat Lance Storm to advance. They met the following week with Jeff Hardy defeating Christian to earn this match against RVD. This will be a rematch from WrestleMania earlier this year, one that ended with RVD coming out on top. Will a fresh and revitalized Jeff Hardy find what it takes to unseat RVD? Or will the Whole Dam Show continue his phenomenal reign as he steadily approaches that record setting 454 days?
No Holds Barred Match
Hulk Hogan vs. Shane McMahon - At WrestleMania, Shane McMahon inserted himself into Hulk's life by supporting his father after the two's match. At Bad Blood, Shane McMahon put himself back into Hulk's spotlight by being at ringside for Eric's match and interfering to try and get Eric to win. At SummerSlam, Shane decided to take matters into his own hands, and cost Hulk Hogan a shot at the WWE Title. The night after SummerSlam, Shane explained himself by saying he only did what his father would've done...and what WCW should've done. The following week, Hogan returned and challenged Shane to a match at Unforgiven. Shane said no, but Austin had other plans. He said that if Hogan beats a person that Shane chooses later that night, than Hogan gets his match against Shane. Shane chose Matt Anoa'i. Despite the obvious size difference, Hogan held his own. Alas, Shane set things up and blasted Hogan with a chair mid-match. Shane accepted Hogan's match, but said that he talked to Eric earlier, and it was now No Holds Barred. The two continued to bicker over the course of the following weeks, mostly about Hogan's politicking history in WCW and WWE, but also about Shane's history with WWE with the Ministry, WCW during the Invasion, and now here on RAW with Eric Bischoff. It came ahead on the go-home show, where Shane lured Hogan into a forgiveness. Shane hit Hulk low and got out a lead pipe. He then beat down Hulk until he was a bloody heap on the mat. Shane then brought Hulk (with help from Matt and Thuggin n' Buggin) to the stage. He got a ladder, and after whacking Hogan onto the announce table, hit an elbow drop from the ladder to Hulk through the announce table. Can Shane continue his domination over Hogan? Or will the Immortal one finally defeat yet another McMahon when it counts?
WWE Title in an Elimination Chamber Match
Triple H (C) with Ric Flair vs. Randy Orton vs. Chris Jericho vs. Shawn Michaels vs. Christian vs. Lance Storm - The week after SummerSlam, Shawn Michaels and Triple H looked ready to have another showstealer for the WWE Title. Hunter had a different idea in mind, and when the match seemed like it was just getting going, a lieu of heels interfered including Orton, Jericho, Christian, and Storm, all to attack and dismantle HBK. The crowd were furious, and so was Austin. He said that he had spoken to Bischoff about this happening, and since he was right, of course, that means that Austin gets to choose the next course of action. He says that Shawn WILL get his proper WWE Title match at Unforgiven, meaning it will be Triple H vs. Shawn Michaels...and Christian...and Chris Jericho...and Lance Storm...and Randy Orton! Bischoff has chosen the opponents, and Shawn will run the gauntlet, but it will not be for Triple H's benefit. As these six men will step...inside the Elimination Chamber. When Austin is confronted over the choices, he tells Shawn that Bischoff went right to Vince and got the match participants approved, but Austin knows that Shawn Michaels of all people can defeat the odds. The weeks going forward don't look great, but even as Shawn Michaels defeats Christian and Storm in a handicap match, Orton and Flair in a handicap match (though he is left bloodied afterwards by some brass knuckles), and even Chris Jericho in a WrestleMania rematch, things are looking bad as the numbers game always plays the advantage. On the go-home show, after defeating Chris Jericho, Triple H introduces the sledgehammer, bloodying Shawn once again and leaving him to the wolves. Things get tense as Jericho, Storm, and Christian all start to eye the title on HHH's shoulder. Is this alliance fairweather, or can they hold on long enough to prove the odds in their favor? Or can Shawn Michaels do what he's always done and overcome the unthinkable to once again be crowned the WWE Champion?

Theme: "Enemy" by Sevendust
Sunday Night Heat
Before we get to the match itself, we head backstage where The Dudley Boyz (sans Spike) are seen brawling with La Resistance. Security and agents roll in and keep them separated. Bischoff and Austin approach not long after. Bischoff asks the Dudleys if they still want their match tonight. They say yes, so Bischoff makes it a 2-on-3 Handicap Tables Elimination Match. Austin adds that since they have the disadvantage, it's only fair that they make it for the World Tag Team Titles. Bischoff is hesitant for a few seconds, but then goes along with it. La Resistance are pissed, but agree and exit. Maven vs. A-Train
Winner: 4:13
Result: Maven manages to get a few licks of offense in, but this is 95% A-Train just dominating Maven. Eventually, A-Train hits a Baldo Bomb that rocks the ring and Maven enough for a three count.
Afterwards, A-Train looks to leave, but reverses course and reenters, hitting a Bicycle Kick to Maven before resuming the beating. One Train Wreck and another Baldo Bomb later, A-Train gets on the mic and tells Bischoff and Austin either he gets suitable competition, or he will go and find it, because this train is going to keep on rolling through whomever they put in his path.
Main Card
We start with the intro. "Gone are the days of good and evil." The video package goes on from there, detailing a "desire for revenge" and focusing on Hogan vs. Shane, the chamber match, and Goldberg vs. Booker. It also mentions "the pride of gold" and brings up RVD vs. Jeff. We then delve into the Chamber Match and how Triple H, Jericho, and Michaels express their remorse for having to step back in, but then brings up all six competitors and how willing they are to do it just to become the WWE Champion. With Hogan and Shane, it's about revenge, and that Shane took the thing Hogan wants most from him, and he'll make sure he pays. Goldberg vs. Booker is about conquering a monster, and that Booker has been on a tear as of late. Jeff vs. RVD is about the title and that these two faces will go into battle as friends, but wage war like enemies. It culminates in the narrator mentioning that "some acts are too dire, some rivalries too personal, some prizes too valuable, and some costs too steep, but tonight, we will find out who will face atonement, and who will remain...Unforgiven."
2-on-3 Handicap Tables Elimination Match
La Resistance (Sylvain Grenier and Rene Dupree) and Robert Conway vs. The Dudley Boyz (Bubba Ray Dudley and D-von Dudley)
Winners: The Dudley Boyz at 12:17
Result: 1. La Resistance really use their numbers to their advantage. The Dudleys try their best to keep them separated, but it quickly catches up with them when D-von has Robert ready for a Superplex. Conway gouges the hell out of D-von's eyes, leading to Sylvain and Rene hitting a double powerbomb through a table to him. 2. Things die down a little bit from there up until Bubba is able to back body drop Rene out of the ring and then hit a Bubba Bomb to Conway. D-von throws Rene into the steps just as Sylvain attacks Bubba from behind. Sylvain goes for a DDT, but Bubba reverses it into a Samoan Drop. After a bit of posture, Bubba hits a Powerbomb to Sylvan through a table set up in the corner. 3. D-von and Bubba focus on Conway for a bit, beating on him until eventually setting him up for an Au Revoir. They look to just hit him with it, but D-von stops them. He points out the tables on the outside and they hit the Au Revoir over the top rope through one of the tables, with Conway's neck catching another one right behind it in a near perfect reenactment of what happened to Spike. 4. Rene manages to hit D-von with a low blow from behind. He catches Bubba with a kick down low as well. Rene tries to get Bubba through a table a few times, but every time, Bubba is able to slide off. He lets his frustration escalate to the point where he focuses on beating on Bubba and not on putting him through a table. Eventually, he does a weird dance over Bubba, hitting him with a forearm that leaves JR and King confused. This wasteful use of time is enough for D-von and Bubba to really take it to him. They whack Rene with the French flag and hit a 3D to him through a table to recapture the World Tag Team Titles.
------------------
Before the next match, we go backstage where Ric Flair is giving an interview with Terri Runnels about the Chamber and about how Flair saw Triple H suffer last year and get nothing for it. Well tonight, Triple H will endure all that pain again, and remain on the top of the mountain. Before Flair can continue, he is interrupted by Austin. He confronts Flair, telling him that he seems confident. Flair and Austin have a bit of a confrontation before Austin tells Flair to get dressed, because he is going to have a match tonight against a mystery opponent. Flair is incensed, but Austin leaves before he can protest too much.
After that, we get a promo detailing the history and recent betrayal between Gunn and Palumbo featuring "Suffocate" by Cold.
Billy Gunn vs. Chuck Palumbo
Winner: Chuck Palumbo at 11:56Result: The two start off hot with Gunn not waiting for the bell. Once they start going to blows, the bell does ring, but it quickly heads outside of the ring. Gunn throws Chuck into the barricade, the steps, and then the ring post. Gunn breaks up the count, which is enough for Chuck to try for a cut-off. Gunn ducks a clothesline though, and hits a back suplex to Chuck, crotching him on the barricade. Gunn then clotheslines Chuck to the floor. Gunn starts to get the crowd into it, tossing Chuck back into the ring. Gunn goes for a Fameasser, but Chuck rolls back out of the ring. Gunn goes after him. He tries to beg Gunn off, but Billy isn't having any of it. Gunn hits a scoop slam onto the floor before grabbing a chair from under the ring. He goes for Chuck, but the ref grabs it before it can strike. That's enough for Chuck to Superkick Gunn. Chuck gets Gunn back in and goes for the pin, but he kicks out. Chuck then keeps Billy down for a little bit, hitting him with slams and suplexes and strikes, not to mention illegal chokes on the rope. Eventually, Chuck goes for a move in the corner, but Billy back body drops him out of the ring. Gunn hits a hip toss into a suplex to Chuck onto the mats on the outside. He then pulls the mats up, taking time to break the count and get the crowd excited. Billy then goes for a Fameasser to Chuck on the exposed concrete, but Chuck ducks out of it. He hits his Natural Thriller on the exposed concrete, promptly taking the wind out of everyone's sails. A still weakened Chuck takes some time but manages to get Billy back in the ring. He goes for it, but that timeframe is enough for Billy to get a shoulder up. Chuck is incensed and argues with the ref for a bit. Chuck then goes for a Superkick, but Billy ducks, nearly taking the ref's head off. Billy charges for Chuck, who dodges. Billy also stops before he hits the ref. When Billy turns around, Chuck Superkicks him, earning yet another two count. Chuck goes for a Natural Thriller, but Billy fights out of it and starts wailing shots onto Chuck. Eventually, Billy reverses an Irish whip into a Cobra Clutch slam, which JR rightly calls the One and Only. It only nets a two count though. Billy goes for one last Fameasser, but Chuck dodges it and hits a pop-up Spinebuster that nearly whiplashes him. Chuck follows that up soon after with the Natural Thriller to seal the win.------------------
After a brief commercial for Trish Stratus' DVD, we head backstage where Jericho and Christian are seen in their locker room. They are talking about tonight and how their alliance can continue to survive if they just work together. Jericho seems hesitant, but before Christian can convince him, the door is knocked on. Austin comes in and tells them that one of them will be competing tonight against a mystery opponent. Before they can complain too much, he tells them that that match is next. Christian and Jericho argue for a bit before we head to the ring. After a bit of stalling by JR and Lawler, the opponent is revealed to be Tommy Dreamer. He comes out right to the ring with some weapons, but they let the fans know that it isn't a Hardcore Match. After a bit more stalling, Jericho's music plays and he comes out. He looks less than pleased as he heads to the ring, with JR and King mentioning that Christian (or the Creepy Little Bastard as JR calls him) somehow weaseled his way out of this match, convincing his "good buddy" Chris to compete instead.Tommy Dreamer vs. Chris Jericho Winner: Tommy Dreamer at 6:13Result: Jericho takes it to Dreamer, as this match is really 95% him. Dreamer gets a few licks of offense, but things really take a turn when Shawn Michaels' music plays. He doesn't show up, but it's long enough for Dreamer to school boy Jericho and steal the win.
Afterwards, Jericho is incensed, going on a tear at ringside and complaining wildly. He gets a chair and blasts Dreamer with it, busting him open. Jericho beats on Dreamer's back before locking in the Walls of Jericho. Some referees eventually arrive, getting Jericho separated before he heads to the back. ------------------
Before the next match, we see La Resistance recovering from the Tables Match in the EMT's room. Christian comes in, telling them that they've been through a war. Christian doesn't blame them. Instead, he blames Austin for them losing their World Tag Team Titles. He blames Austin for allowing that match to happen, and blames Austin for Jericho losing to Dreamer. Christian takes a few more moments to jab at Y2J about that, but then tells them that Austin is to blame. He's a bully, a coward, and a failure as a GM. When Rene asks "well what are we going to do about it?" Christian tells them that they should rest and recuperate. He will make sure Austin pays for this.
Matt Anoa'i, Mark Henry, and Rodney Mack with Theodore Long and Rico vs. Goldust, Val Venis, and Al Snow
Winners: Matt Anoa'i, Mark Henry, and Rodney Mack at 9:16Result: Goldust tries to be sexual to throw Matt off his game, but Matt proceeds to beat the hell out of him with splashes and slams. Matt gets Henry in, who goes for a Big Splash. Goldust dodges and tags Venis in. Venis and Henry have a confrontation, with Venis doing gyrations. Henry looks to be getting into it until Long yells at him. Henry gives Venis a hug before turning it into a Bear Hug. Venis eventually fights out of it, tagging in Snow, who lights up like a house of fire on all of them. Rodney gets the tag off Henry while Goldust and Venis get Matt and Mark out of the ring. Goldust hits a senton from the apron onto Matt while Venis hits a Money Shot to the outside onto a standing Henry. This leaves Snow in the ring with Mack, who reverses a Snow Plow into a uranagi. Mack locks in the Blackout, and Snow eventually taps out.
Afterwards, Goldust and Venis try to attack Mack, but a distraction from Rico (who gets a punch from Venis for his troubles) is enough for Henry and Anoa'i to pop in. World's Strongest Slam to Venis, pop-up Samoan Drop to Goldust. Matt hits a Flying Big Splash to Goldust while Henry hits a Big Splash to Venis, all while Mack keeps the Blackout locked in on Al Snow. Anoa'i and Thuggin 'n' Buggin head to the back, leaving a mass of bodies in their wake. ------------------
Before the next match, A-Train is backstage. We get an interview with Marc Lloyd, replaying what happened earlier on Heat when he dismantled Maven. A-Train tells Marc that he wants competition, and he told everybody earlier that he was going to find it if he isn't given it. A-Train says that he went to Austin, and has been given a match tomorrow night against whomever wins the Intercontinental Title match tonight. Not long after, he is interrupted by Maven, who has his ribs taped up. He beats on A-Train for a bit until producers and referees interfere to keep Maven back. A-Train is seen smiling before we head to the ring. Ric Flair comes out with Orton, looking pissed. Austin reveals that his opponent...will be Jerry "The King" Lawler! Jonathan Coachman comes out after a bit to join JR on commentary. Ric Flair with Randy Orton vs. Jerry "The King" LawlerWinner: Ric Flair at 9:43
Result: Flair and Jerry have a very old school style match with Lawler embarrassing Flair by pulling his tights down. The two bust out all the hits. Eventually, Coachman gets up off commentary when Flair busts out a chair, citing he's had enough of this. Coachman runs down to ringside, swiping the chair. JR is confused by Coachman's sudden gaining of confidence. Flair gets back in the ring, taking a few punches from Lawler and a scoop slam. King goes for the fist drop, but Flair dodges. Coachman slides Flair the chair as Orton gets on the apron. He argues with the ref, with JR lambasting Coachman and trying to warn King in vain. King turns around and takes the chair to the face. Flair rolls King up and gets his feet on the ropes as Orton hops down with a smirk.
Afterwards, Coachman, Flair, and Orton shake hands for a few moments as they head to the back. They get to the stage with Coachman letting Evolution go. Coachman and JR have a few words, with JR poking and prodding Coachman. Eventually, Coachman gets on the commentary headset, telling him that he's The Coach. And Eric Bischoff wanted a job done, so Coach made sure it got done. He then tells JR that isn't personal, it's just business. His business. He then warns JR that having friends matters, like JR's best friend, Steve Austin. And that Coach isn't the only one looking to get in favor with the real boss. It's then that Christian appears from behind JR. He starts to beat on him, slamming him onto the commentator's table before throwing him off. Christian beats on JR for a bit, tossing him around the area beneath the table, all with Coach mocking JR and his catchphrases. Christian eventually gets a metal case, rolling it right into JR's face. Austin comes out with Christian running off. He gets some EMTs to tend to JR. King shows up soon after, bleeding a bit from his head via the chair shot. JR is helped to the back. ------------------
Whilst JR is being taken to the back, we get a quick commercial for the Bloodbath DVD coming out in October. After that, Coachman is at commentary by himself. After a bit of posturing, we get a video package for the next match, detailing how we got here. Goldberg vs. Booker T
Winner: Goldberg at 6:56Result: The match starts with Booker hitting a dive over the top rope onto Goldberg on the outside. Booker then beats on Goldberg a bit before tossing him away. Goldberg goes for the Spear, but Booker dodges, sending him head and shoulder first into the steel steps. Booker keeps on beating down Goldberg, eventually hitting a Scissors Kick and Book End, both on the outside. Booker gets Goldberg inside, going for the pin, but it only nets a one count as the bell rings. Booker keeps on beating Goldberg, focusing on the neck as he stomps a bunch of mudholes in him. Booker eventually gets separated, and Goldberg hits a Superkick (the move that retired Austin and Rock). Goldberg sets up for a Spear, but Booker hits a side kick mid-move. Booker school boys Goldberg, who kicks out at one. On the rebound, Booker catches up Goldberg with another Book End that gets barely gets a two. Booker keeps on beating on Goldberg, making sure to keep him down so he's never off his knees. Booker goes for a Scissors Kick eventually, but Goldberg clotheslines Booker nearly inside out. Goldberg is pissed as he goes for a Spear. Booker is in the corner, so nobody sees when he rips the middle turnbuckle off as he dodges, sending Goldberg face first into the exposed turnbuckle and causing a wound to open on his forehead. Booker hits a Scissors Kick to a dazed Goldberg. That nets the closest pinfall since Goldberg has joined the WWE. Booker goes for another one, but Goldberg Spears him mid-run. Goldberg gets up, a bit dazed, but manages to nail another Spear to Booker. Coach calls it academic, even as Goldberg hits a Jackhammer to Booker to net the pin.
Afterwards, Goldberg wipes some blood off his head before grabbing Booker. He hits another Jackhammer to him. He isn't done yet, even as he grabs Booker and drags him towards the stage. Booker tries to fight out, but Goldberg shuts him down by tossing him into a nearby truss. Goldberg then hits a Jackhammer to Booker through a portion of the stage. The EMTs are busy tonight as they come out to tend to a wounded Booker. Goldberg ignores them, screaming at the camera as he makes his exit. Booker is put on a stretcher and sent to the back. ------------------That transitions seamlessly to Austin watching from his office. He looks over to Bischoff, and starts to berate him. The two of them were getting along, and then he goes and pulls this sh!t tonight? Bischoff tells Austin that they are a team, but if Austin wants to go off and do whatever he wants, he can't get mad at Bischoff for doing the same thing. Austin questions his morals, telling him that Maven's ribs are shot, Gunn's back is tweaked, who knows how Booker is, and their color commentator is getting stiches while their play by play guy is going to the hospital for a concussion. The door is knocked on and Austin tells them to go away, but Bischoff lets them in. They enter, and it's Christian with a smirk on his face. Austin stands up and they get eye-to-eye. Christian tells Austin that his days of being the co-GM are numbered. And if he wants to play ball, then Christian is Carlos Delgado hittin bombs into the stands (Author's Note: the Home Run leader for the Blue Jays in 2003). Austin tells Christian to get the hell out of his office before he removes him from the Chamber. Austin tells Bischoff that if he wants to go back to how things were, he'll agree to it. Bischoff gets up and tells Austin that things are changing soon. And with Mr. McMahon watching, they have to be at their best. And maybe...those changes...are what secures him his job. He then reminds Austin that him and Vince don't get along, before leaving the room, leaving Austin pissed and fuming.
Before the next match, Coach is seen on commentary with King, who has a bandage on his forehead. King reprimands Coach for his actions, but does admit that he understands them. King tells Coach that he has hell to pay when JR comes back, but until then, let's just call the night like professionals. Coach can agree to that as they transition into the next match. Coach is still heelish throughout the night with King taking a more face role. Coach throws a few jibes at King and JR that the former makes sure to shut down, but otherwise, they're pretty normal as partners. WWE Intercontinental Title
Rob Van Dam (C) vs. Jeff Hardy Winner: Rob Van Dam at 19:42Result: The match starts with high-flying moves throughout the ring. At about the five minute mark, RVD dodges a senton over the top to the outside by Jeff, sending him crashing into the floor. RVD follows it up with a spit legged moonsault from the top rope onto a standing Jeff on the outside that gets a two. RVD takes it to Jeff with a few signature moves, but Jeff keeps kicking out. Eventually, RVD goes for a Rolling Thunder, but Jeff gets his knees up. Jeff hits the Reverse of Fate to get a two. Jeff goes up top, but RVD kicks him, sending Jeff crashing towards the barricade. RVD goes up top and dives down, but Jeff moves, sending Rob into the barricade. Jeff starts to beat on RVD for a few moments before hitting a Twist of Fate on the outside. Jeff breaks the count before hitting a springboard Vader bomb onto RVD who is on the floor. Jeff holds his ribs close as he throws RVD in. At about the 14 minute mark, Jeff goes for a Swanton Bomb, but RVD moves! RVD crucifixes Jeff from there, getting a two. RVD kicks Jeff down before going up top. RVD goes for a Five Star Frog Splash and hits it! Rob goes for it, but Jeff kicks out! RVD is stunned as he goes back up top. Jeff crotches him and meets him up top. Jeff goes for a Superplex, but Rob keeps fighting him off. Rob goes for a sunset flip, but Jeff moonsaults out of it, landing on his feet. He comes back in and hits a rope assisted dropkick to RVD sitting in the corner. Jeff goes for it, but still only gets a two. At 17 minutes, Jeff goes for a Twist of Fate, but RVD reverses it into an O'Connor roll. Jeff kicks out, sending RVD into the turnbuckle post shoulder fist. Jeff goes to the apron, hitting a dropkick that sends RVD head first into the turnbuckle post. Jeff goes for a Twist of Fate from the apron, but RVD reverses it, throwing Jeff off the cutter and back first onto the steel steps. RVD capitalizes with a cartwheel splash from the apron onto Jeff. RVD holds his head close as he tentatively gets Jeff into the ring. RVD goes for a Five Star Frog Splash, but is slow to get up. Jeff manages to crawl over and stop RVD, holding his back close from all the offense on it. Jeff punches him a couple times before hitting a suplex from the top rope while Jeff is standing on the mat. Jeff then takes his shirt off, heading up top. He looks for the Swanton Bomb, but RVD kicks the ropes, sending Jeff falling rib-first into the turnbuckle. RVD takes some time and goes up. He resets Jeff before hitting a top rope headscissors, taking Jeff careening into the mat. RVD then skins the cat back up top, hitting another Five Star Frog Splash to get him the win.
Afterwards, the two hesitantly stand, holding their head, ribs, and back. They shake hands before Jeff rolls out, gingerly making his way to the back. ------------------Before the next match, Triple H gives an interview with Marc Lloyd about the Elimination Chamber. He tells him that he has been once again backed up against the chain walls. Last year, he spent nearly two full days in a hospital bed because of that match, and Austin, in an act of sadism, has put him back into the confines of that structure. Tonight, Triple H will not lose again. He will not exit different than how he entered. He will step inside that Chamber and destroy his former best friend, his former brother once and for all, and he has help...in Christian, in Storm, in Jericho...in Evolution. Tonight, Shawn Michaels will finally meet his maker, but it won't be God ushering him in...it'll be Triple H...beating him down into the mat. He then tells HBK that their time has come, but it isn't going to be the storybook ending of Shawn Michaels riding off into the sunset with his WWE Championship. It'll be Triple H standing tall, once again, over weak, pathetic, has-beens. "Shawn...the time has come for us to wage war once again inside hell's design. And it's time for you...to play the game."
We then get a promo for the next match, detailing how we got here.
No Holds Barred Match
Hulk Hogan vs. Shane McMahon Winner: Hulk Hogan at 15:47Result: The match starts off quick with Shane taking it to Hogan with a lead pipe he had hidden. Hogan eventually catches it, making sure to take it back to Shane. The two get out of the ring, with Hogan going for Shane, who dodges, hitting a drop toe hold into the steel steps that busts him open. Shane then get a chair, whacking it to Hogan's head and his back a couple times each. Shane goes for it, but Hogan kicks out. Shane starts to beat down Hogan with various weapons, including kendo sticks, trash cans, and other assorted tools found under the ring. At about the 10 minute mark, Shane hits a Leap of Faith elbow to Hogan through a table. Hogan kicks out. Shane does Hogan's taunts before hitting the Running Leg Drop. it gets a two count, and Hogan starts hulking up. He beats on Shane for a bit with the same weapons before eventually going for the Running Leg Drop. Shane dodges it before kicking Hulk down low. Shane gets Hulk in the corner and puts a trash can there as well. Shane climbs up and hits a Coast to Coast to Hogan, who still kicks out! Shane goes under the ring and gets a pair of handcuffs. He tries to handcuff Hogan, who gets out of it and does the "yooou" point. Hogan beats on Shane a bit before handcuffing him to the ropes. Hogan uses the kendo stick and tears Shane's hide (with King adding it that he's "whipping him like a government mule" much to Coach's displeasure). Eventually, Hogan uncuffs one of Shane's hands. Shane is on his knees, begging Hogan off. Hogan shakes his head and breaks the kendo stick in half over Shane's face. Hogan then hits a Running Leg Drop to end it.------------------
Before the next match, we go to the back where Terri Runnels gives an interview with Shawn Michaels. Shawn gives a standard babyface promo about how the odds are against him, but the odds have been against him before and every single time Shawn has risen above them to claim victory. Tonight is no different as he steps back into the Chamber. He goes off on his opponents and Eric Bischoff before ending by telling Triple H that this story, this war won't end tonight, but if he's walkin into hell, he'll be damn sure to leave with something worth remembering, and he can't think of anything else more fitting, than that WWE Championship.
After that, we get a video package featuring "Enemy" by Sevendust detailing how we got to the next match.
Before we actually get into the match, Eric Bischoff comes out. He enters the chamber and stares around for a few moments. Eventually, he introduces the return...of the Elimination Chamber! He mentions that this was brought back by Austin to test not only RAW's top talent, but also the will of someone like Shawn Michaels. Because tonight...these six men will enter the most vile creation he has ever made, and only one man will be able to walk out...the WWE Champion! "Ladies and gentlemen, on behalf of Eric Bischoff's RAW...welcome...to Unforgiven!" He then heads to the back allowing the remainder of the contestants to enter.
WWE Title in an Elimination Chamber Match
Triple H (C) with Ric Flair vs. Randy Orton vs. Chris Jericho vs. Shawn Michaels vs. Christian vs. Lance Storm Winner: Triple H at 36:44
Result: 1. A lot of the beginning of the match goes about as well as you'd expect as Shawn Michaels, "conveniently" enough (King calls that out immediately to Coach's innocence), ends up entering first with Storm. After Christian enters, followed by Orton, then Jericho, Shawn soon starts to realize the steepness of the mountain he has to climb. Things end up turning well eventually, despite Shawn being a bloody mess, as he back body drops Christian out onto the steel floor and reverses an RKO from Orton by shoving him into Jericho, taking them both out. Storm goes for a Superkick, but HBK ducks, leading right into Sweet Chin Music to eliminate the first Canadian. 2. Eventually, Triple H is allowed to enter last (which King also calls out), but before he can exit his pod, HBK hits him with Sweet Chin Music to put him back down. From there, Orton, Jericho, and Christian run the gauntlet on Shawn, hitting him with various moves and throwing him into the chain and onto the steel floor. It reaches a breaking point when Jericho has HBK in the Walls of Jericho on the outside. Shawn manages to reverse it, shoving Y2J into the nearby pod. HBK gets up, and dodges a charging Christian's Spear. This sends Y2J and Christian careening through the nearby pod. HBK enters the ring and immediately is almost hit by an RKO. HBK shoves Orton away into the ropes. On the rebound, he is nailed with Sweet Chin Music. HBK falls onto Orton to eliminate him. 3. HBK stands up and turns around into a Double A Spinebuster by HHH. The three remaining enemies begin to triple team HBK. Eventually, Jericho goes for a Lionsault, but HBK gets his knees up. Christian goes for a Texas Cloverleaf, but HBK swings him off with his legs. HBK gets up, so HHH goes for a Pedigree. HBK then catapults HHH over the top rope onto the steel platform. Shawn climbs onto the top rope, hitting a moonsault to a standing HHH onto the steel. HBK enters the ring, spying Christian. HBK goes for a move, but Christian gouges the eyes. Christian goes for an Unprettier, but Shawn reverses it and starts his comeback. When it's time for the Flying Elbow Drop, he opts to climb to the top of a pod. After a bit of posturing, Shawn hits the Flying Elbow Drop to Christian from the top of the pod. Jericho stares on from the outside for a bit, watching HBK eliminate his partner. 4. Immediately after, Jericho rolls in and locks in the Walls of Jericho. After a bit of trying to escape it, Shawn rolls back over before rolling Chris up to eliminate him. 5. Jericho is pissed. Afterwards, he attacks Shawn, hitting him with a Lionsault before leaving. There's a minute or so rest time before HHH enters the ring, looking mostly fresh. He hits the Pedigree to Shawn, but it only gets a two count! HHH is shocked and sells it appropriately. He goes for another one, but Shawn back body drops out of it. He goes for Sweet Chin Music (which Coach correctly calls back to their encounter at last year's Chamber match), but the Game goes low and hits him with a forearm directly into his groin. HHH goes for one more Pedigree, but Shawn reverses it into a jackknife roll-up, but Trips kicks out. Shawn gets up and the two eventually start his comeback sequence. Shawn hits the Flying Elbow Drop like normal and goes for the finale. Trips hangs in the corner, upon which Flair slides him his sledgehammer. Unseen by HBK, he goes for the gunshot, but HHH hits him with the sledgehammer to the face mid-move! Trips throws the hammer down before hitting one last Pedigree to Shawn to seal the deal.
Afterwards, HHH, Orton, Flair, Jericho, Christian, and Storm all start to beat on Shawn as the chamber raises up. Coach is loving it and King is pleading for help. Well...
Hogan comes rushing out from the back, a bandage on his head and a steel chair in hand! He rolls under the bottom rope and dodges Storm, blasting him in the face. HHH and Flair get the hell out of dodge as Christian is blasted with the chair as well. Jericho tries to attack Hogan from behind, but Hulk drops the chair and starts to punch him. Punch, punch, punch, Irish whip, Big Boot, Running Leg Drop. Hogan poses and preens until Orton blasts him in the back with the chair. Hogan no-sells it and stares at Orton, who drops the chair and acts innocent. Orton turns around into Sweet Chin Music. Hogan then hits another Running Leg Drop before they both toss Orton out of the ring. Hogan and HBK celebrate together in the ring while HHH stares on with his title in hand.
