Survivor Series 2002
Live from Madison Square Garden in New York City, NY
Theme: "Always" by Saliva
Lance Storm and William Regal vs. Goldust and Bradshaw
Winner: Lance Storm and William Regal at 3:01
Result: In a match that really doesn't last long enough to get off the ground, it's a Superkick mid-Clothesline from Hell that takes Bradshaw out of the match. Goldust is left to the wolves in the form of a Regal Cutter and Regal Stretch that ends with the Golden One tapping out.
Main Card:
Before the next match, we go to The World where we see Saliva playing "Turn the Tables" live for Bubba Ray and Spike.
Elimination Tables Match
The Dudley Boyz (Bubba Ray Dudley and Spike Dudley) and Jeff Hardy vs. 3-Minute Warning (Jamal and Rosey) and Rico
Result: The Dudley Boyz and Jeff Hardy at 14:20
Result: 1. Spike is quickly dispatched after Jamal and Rosey catch him and proceed to launch him head first through a table.
2. Jeff fairs better and with Bubba's help, sets up Rosey on a table in the audience. Jeff climbs to an entrance way above him and hits a Swanton Bomb to send Rosey through a table.
3. Jeff tries to jump from the barricade onto Jamal, but the latter throws a table in the way, sending Jeff crashing through it. The ref doesn't call it there, so Jamal sets him up on another table before climbing to the top and hitting a splash to eliminate Jeff.
4. Jamal takes some time in beating up Bubba in the corner, but distracts himself by taunting to the crowd. Par for the course, Bubba hooks him by the waist and powerbombs him through a table.
5. With Bubba left alone as a victim to a 3 on 1 assault, nobody expects to see D-von Dudley running out from the back. He slides into the ring and evens the odds. One 3D to Rico through a table later and we have our winners.
After the match, the Dudley Boyz proper officially reunite, much to their hometown's satisfaction.
------------------
Before the next match, we go to The World in Times Square where Stacy Keibler introduces Saliva, who play the theme of Survivor Series "Always" live.
After that, we go to the nWo locker room where they spent a lot of time showboating and guaranteeing victory with each team member having time to say their peace. At the end, Hogan walks with Nash to get some more booze. Hogan leaves his spray painted WWE Title on a sofa. Hunter looks over at it before turning to Hall and Pac, who smile back at him.
Traditional Survivor Series Elimination Match
Team Big Show (Big Show, Test, Matt Hardy, John Cena, and Ron Simmons with Shannon Moore) vs. Team Kane (Kane, The Hurricane, Tajiri, Rikishi, and Diamond Dallas Page)
Winners: Team Big Show at 18:27
Result: 1. Ron Simmons tries his hardest to stand out and be effective, but a quick Diamond Cutter at the start of the match is enough to eliminate him.
2. Tajiri attempts to make a difference in the match with the help of Rikishi. They focus on Cena and Hardy, but Moore decides to interfere. Rikishi deals with him by taking him to the floor. From there, the match breaks down. In the ring, Tajiri sprays mist in Cena's face and hits him with a Buzzsaw Kick to eliminate him.
3. Nearly right after that, Hardy hits a Twist of Fate to Tajiri to eliminate the Japanese superstar.
4. Rikishi goes for a Stink Face to Matt, but finds himself distracted by Moore once again. Kane solves this by hitting a Chokeslam to Moore on the floor. This is enough distraction for the ref, allowing Matt to kick Rikishi down low before the Stink Face can be applied. Big Show runs in and Chokeslams Rikishi before exiting. Matt picks up the pieces and pins the Samoan.
5. Proving that the Diamond Cutter can really come out of nowhere, after taking a beating from Matt for a bit, DDP reverses a Twist of Fate into a Diamond Cutter to eliminate Version 1.
6. Hurricane tries to prove that he's a superhero by going for a Flying Crossbody to Test...who catches him mid-air and throws him into the corner. Test backs up and hits a Big Boot which flips Hurricane inside out and proves enough to eliminate him.
7. Kane and Big Show decide to focus on themselves, with the two of them starting a brawl that ends up taking them out of the arena and getting both men counted out.
8. With DDP and Test left to settle the score, DDP shows that age is just a number by dodging a Flying Elbow Drop by Test. He then goes up top and hits a Flying Clothesline that takes Test down. DDP goes for a Diamond Cutter, but Test shoves him into the ropes. Test hits a Big Boot and goes for it, but DDP gets his foot on the bottom rope. Test argues with the ref, which is enough of a distraction for DDP to hit a Diamond Cutter. However, on the way down, Test's leg finds itself in between the ref's crotch. With the ref trying to recover, DDP can't finish it off. DDP makes the sure the ref is okay before going for Test...who hits a low blow of his own to Page. One Big Boot later and Test finds himself the sole survivor.
------------------
Before the next match, we go to another locker room where Eric Bischoff is standing in front of Team WWE. Michaels and Flair are in one corner whilst Booker and RVD are in another. Austin is sitting in the background, focusing on himself and staring at the wall. Bischoff tries to say something once...then twice...then a third time, until Flair pops in and tells Eric that they're not fighting for Bischoff...they're fighting for Raw and the WWE. Booker says that he and Flair know what the nWo are like firsthand. They are not planning are letting this virus end everything that this company has built. RVD adds that he and Booker only came in last year and they didn't fight for the WWE until it was all they could do, but now that they are here, they're not going to let the nWo take away everything that they two of them have come to love and be a part of. Michaels pops in and tells Eric that he lives and breaths WWE. He is Mr. WWE from beginning to end. He's not leaving and he's never left. He's not going to let the nWo destroy what he's helped create. Even if that means he has to settle the score with his ex-friends. Austin then stands up and looks Bischoff in the eyes, telling him that that's the bottom line...because the WWE said so.
WWE Cruiserweight Title in a Last Chance Match
Jamie Noble (C) with Nidia vs. Billy Kidman
Winner: Billy Kidman at 11:33
Result: Towards the end of this quick and entertaining match, Noble distracts the ref whilst Billy is on the top rope. This allows Nidia to crotch him up top. Torrie Wilson runs out and proves to be an effective foil as she takes out Nidia. Noble fights with Kidman up top, but Kidman sends Jamie to the mat with a forward suplex. One Shooting Star Press later and we have a new champion.
After the match, Kidman and Torrie embrace in the ring, sharing a kiss as Kidman celebrates with his title. We quickly go to a room where Dawn Marie is seen watching a TV, not happy in the least. In the background, we hear Al asking her to come back to bed. Dawn smiles and obliges where we see Al in a hotel bed naked from the waist up.
------------------
Before the next match, we see Kurt Angle in his locker room. He is getting ready, stretching and warming up when he sees Benoit in the background doing the same thing. The two have a staredown, saying that they didn't work out as team because they hate each other. To remedy this, they've agreed to let the best man win. Benoit says he intends to. Angle says that he's going to...no matter what it costs.
After that, we see Victoria on the F-View talking to herself in a mirror and asking who the prettiest is. The mirror says Trish and Victoria responds by grabbing it and throwing it to the ground. We then get a video package showing us how we got here.
WWE Women's Title in a Hardcore Match
Trish Stratus (C) vs. Victoria
Winner: Victoria at 10:36
Result: In a hard fought match that both women give more than you'd expect, it's Trish taking a nasty snap suplex onto a mirror that proves the most effective tide-turner. Victoria looks at the cracked mirror as Trish holds her back in pain. Victoria turns and hits a Widow's Peak to Trish to seal the win and the title.
After the match, Victoria grabs the mirror and is looking for more damage, but referees and security run out to stop her as EMTs attempt to help Trish.
------------------
Before the next match, we go backstage where Jonathan Coachman is seen standing with Eric Bischoff. Coach asks Bischoff what his thoughts are on Smackdown's performance tonight, but Eric says he is much more focused on the performance of Raw tonight, especially when compared to the nWo's. Eric starts to get riled up about things when Big Show interrupts. Show tells Eric that he made a huge mistake in letting him go to Smackdown. And that he's going to regret everything Bischoff has failed to give him when he dominates the brand...just like he dominated WCW...as part of the nWo. His words.
After that, we hear Saliva play "King of My World" from The World as Jericho and Christian make their entrance.
World Tag Team Titles
Chris Jericho and Christian (C) vs. Billy and Chuck
Winners: Billy and Chuck at 13:58
Result: In a match that sees Billy and Chuck as definitive babyfaces against the arrogant and always opportunity taking heels Canadian Coalition, it's certainly a bout that many might say is underrated in a few years from now. Billy serves as the scapegoat for most of the match, taking the brunt of the beating. It's a mistimed Lionsault that sees him hitting the mat after Billy dodged. Billy tags in Chuck who starts to unload on his opponents. Chuck goes for a Superkick to Christian, who dodges. Christian goes for an Unprettier, but Chuck shoves Christian out of the ring. Jericho hits a school boy and then the Walls of Jericho to Chuck. However, Billy pops in and hits a Fameasser to Jericho mid-move. Christian tries again to interfere, but Billy dodges before clotheslining both himself and his opponent over the top to the floor. Jericho stands up, allowing Chuck to hit a Superkick to seal the deal and crown new tag champions.
After the match, Billy and Chuck celebrate. Coach quickly interviews the two of them who share a quick moment of celebration with the crowd.
------------------
Before the next match, Brock is seen getting ready with his taped ribs with Paul holding the World Heavyweight Title with a look of absolute fear. When Brock sarcastically asks if Paul is nervous, the latter admits that he is. Paul says that he never wanted this match for his client because he knows that it's going to end badly for Brock. This is not how he wanted Brock's first title defense to go down. Paul even asks Brock to be be honest with himself in that nothing has been the same since his Hell in a Cell match against Undertaker. He's still injured with the broken rib and has been coughing up blood. So yeah...Paul's nervous. But tonight...we're in Madison Square Garden... in New York City...Paul's hometown...and he promises Brock Lesnar...that his client will walk away tonight the World Heavyweight Champion.
After that we get a video package detailing how we got there.
World Heavyweight Title in a Triple Threat Match
Brock Lesnar (C) with Paul Heyman vs. Chris Benoit vs. Kurt Angle
Winner: Kurt Angle at 23:27
Result: In a match that no doubt might have stolen the show, these three technical artists and hard hitting masters of the mat blow the roof off the arena with their art. Suplexes, top rope maneuvers, hard hitting landings and rough to watch moments. The end looks to be in sight for Benoit, who has a Crossface locked in on Lesnar. Angle sees this and locks in the Ankle Lock to Brock as well. The two lock in their moves until Benoit sees Angle. They start to argue for a bit, with both men pushing and shoving. Angle goes for a clothesline but Benoit reverses it into a Crossface. Angle reverses it into an Ankle Lock attempt, but Benoit pushes him back into the ref. Angle goes for an Angle Slam to Benoit, who gets out of it into a Triple German Suplex then a Diving Headbutt. Benoit goes for a Crossface to Angle, but Lesnar stops him, going for an F5. Benoit reverses it mid-cycle into a Crossface. Lesnar uses his strength and overpowers Benoit, getting him back on his shoulders for a thunderous F5. Lesnar goes for it as a new ref comes out. On a two, Heyman drags the ref out and clocks him. Lesnar is confused before turning around and spotting Heyman. Brock connects the dots and makes chase. Heyman grabs the World Heavyweight Title and slides into the ring. He slips it to Angle, who grabs hold of the title. Heyman exits as Lesnar enters. Angle ducks a clothesline before blasting Lesnar in the face with the championship. Angle then blasts Benoit in the back with it before hitting an Angle Slam to Benoit. Paul throws the original ref back in as Angle hooks Benoit's legs. Despite the slower count, it's enough for Angle to score the victory.
After the match, Paul and Angle share a hug in the ring, holding the title high above their heads. Angle goes on top of the entrance way door, raising the title up high as he and an ecstatic Paul watches Benoit and Lesnar in the ring, disappointed and angry respectively.
------------------
Before the next match, Cole and Tazz make reference that that was the fourth straight match where the title has changed hands. Will we have a fifth coming up next? That segues wonderfully into a video package detailing how we got to the next match.
WWE Tag Team Titles in an Elimination Match
Edge and Rey Mysterio (C) vs. Los Guerreros (Eddie and Chavo Guerrero)
Winner: Los Guerreros at 19:26
Result: 1. Chavo attempts to go for a Gory Bomb, but Rey reverses it into a hurricanrana into the ropes. Rey then hits a 619 into a Spear by Edge that eliminates Chavo.
2. Eddie and Edge fight for a bit, reigniting their rivalry from a couple months ago. Eddie fights back from the 2 on 1 odds and manages to take out Rey by throwing him over the barricade into the crowd. Edge fights back thought and seems to have Eddie where he wants him. Edge goes for the Spear, but Eddie dodges, removing the middle turnbuckle pad and sending him face first into the exposed steel. Eddie school boys Edge and with some feet on the ropes, evens the odds.
3. Rey and Eddie spend a good chunk of this match harkening back to their old WCW encounters, a history Cole and Tazz have no problem making mention of. In the end though, it's Rey hitting a 619 to Eddie that sends Eddie back into the ref. Not down but certainly dazed, it's enough for Chavo to grab one half of the tag titles. Rey goes for a springboard, but Chavo nails him mid-leap with the championship. Chavo turns around as Rey hits the mat and takes a Spear from Edge off the apron. Eddie locks in the Lasso from El Paso as the ref comes to. Edge sees it and is just too late to stop Rey from tapping.

Before the next match, we head to the ring where...
------------------
Not long after that, we get an interview with team captain Steve Austin, who begins to say his piece until we get breaking RNN news, much to the crowd's absolute hatred. Turns out the therapy on Randy Orton's shoulder is going pretty well and he'll be back soon. The amount of what's that accompanied him may surprise you.
Following that, we get a video package detailing how we go to this huge ol' match that approaches.
Traditional Survivor Series Elimination Match. If the nWo lose, they are disbanded. If WWE loses, than they are all fired.
Team nWo (Hollywood Hulk Hogan, Triple H, Kevin Nash, Scott Hall, and X-Pac) vs. Team WWE (Steve Austin, Shawn Michaels, Ric Flair, Booker T, and Rob Van Dam)
Winners: Team WWE at 41:47
Result: 1. The match started off strong for WWE with the first elimination not coming until about 8 minutes in. X-Pac beat on Austin for a bit, making sure to know who was the man here. Hunter used this time to distract the ref. Pac went for a Bronco Buster but Austin got his foot up right into his groin. Austin flipped Pac off before hitting a Stunner that sent Pac ass over head.
2. Things continued strong for a bit for WWE until Nash started dominating over Flair. Nash went for a Jackknife Powerbomb to the Nature Boy, but the ref kept getting close. Nash brushed him away, leaving him dazed long enough for Flair to low blow Nash. Team WWE then took out the nWo to allow a Sweet Chin Music to Nash, who remained standing. Austin then hit a Stunner to him. Booker followed that up with a Scissors Kick. RVD finished Nash off with a Five Star Frog Splash. Flair hooked a leg to eliminate Big Daddy Cool.
3. Unfortunately, this is where things start to take a turn. Despite the high from the crowd at being on top, Flair takes too much time gloating as he locks in a Figure 4 to Hall. He didn't see Hogan make the tag before hand, so is powerless to stop the Leg Drop from landing on Flair. Hunter stands watch as Hogan pins the Nature Boy.
4. Things only turn dire from there when HBK is blasted with a sledgehammer by HHH when the ref is kept busy with Team WWE trying to help, busting him open. Austin notices he is left alone with the two who joined the WWE as invaders and takes a few moments to highlight the T in DTA. Austin lets his paranoia gets the best of him and misses a clothesline to Hall that takes down RVD. Hogan takes Austin out of the ring, allowing Hall to hit a Razor's Edge to RVD.
5. From bad to worse is an understatement as Booker hits a Book End to Hogan. Booker goes for a Scissors Kick, but runs into a knee by Hunter from the apron. Austin runs in and clocks Hunter to the floor. The two of them start fighting. This distracts the ref to allow Hogan to blast Booker with the WWE Title. Hall tags in Hogan and Hogan hits another Leg Drop to eliminate Booker.
6. With the odds now against the WWE, Austin is left alone with HBK bleeding buckets but still willing to fight. Austin looks to tag HBK before flipping him off, refusing to allow HBK to fight in his state. Austin takes the 3 on 1 for a bit, but still kicks out of whatever they're giving him. After a while, Austin comes back. He Stuns a non-legal Hall, a non-legal Hogan, and hits a Stunner to a legal Triple H. Austin goes for the pin, but suddenly THE ROCK RUNS IN! HE HITS A ROCK BOTTOM TO AUSTIN! Rock throws Triple H over Austin before exiting as he came, fleeing through the crowd with a smile on his face. Austin doesn't kick out.
7. This is quite possibly the WWE's worst fear. HBK is in a bad way, with his blood pouring onto the canvas. He is 3 on 1 against the nWo. Despite these odds, HBK is not a quitter. He's fought through a broken back at WrestleMania, what's some blood? The tides start to turn when Hall goes for a Razor's Edge. HBK ducks off his shoulders and hits a charging Hall with Sweet Chin Music to eliminate him.
8. Triple H sees the way things are going and starts to beat on HBK's back and face, making sure to let Shawn know this is what he asked for. Triple H eventually decides that it's time and goes for a Pedigree. HBK suddenly gets his arms free and reverses it into a jackknife roll-up to eliminate The Game!
9. Despite this, Triple H attacks HBK with the sledgehammer after the elimination, smashing the sledgehammer over his back. Hogan hits a Leg Drop to HBK, but KICKS OUT! Hogan is shocked and starts railing into Michaels himself. Hogan taunts the crowd, going for a Leg Drop, but HBK dodges. Michaels starts to mount his comeback, even going so far as to hit his elbow drop. He goes for Sweet Chin Music, but Hogan dodges. Hogan hits a Big Boot and a scoop slam. Hogan goes for another Running Leg Drop, but HBK dodges again! This time, Hogan gets up and takes the Sweet Chin Music! HBK hooks the leg! 1
2
3!!!
HBK has done it!
After the match, HBK takes some time to celebrate with Madison Square Garden as Hogan walks away with his title, sad and depressed for his failure.
