Mr. McMahon accepts to put the title on the line in a Fatal 4-Way Elimination Match at Wrestlemania but he tries to soften his opposition up beforehand, even all the way to the very night of Wrestlemania since Big Show also competes in another 4-Way for the Hardcore Championship. 3 days later on 3/2 on Smackdown, Chris Jericho regains the Intercontinental Championship and will defend it in a Ladder Match at Wrestlemania against Kurt Angle, Eddie Guerrero and WWF's newest acquistion, Rob Van Dam. William Regal beats D-Lo Brown on the 3/23 edition of Smackdown and will defend it against Tazz at Wrestlemania 2000. Raven regains the Hardcore Championship from Crash Holly on 3/16 on Smackdown and will try to prevent Big Show, Kane & Crash Holly to take it, although Raven, Kane & Crash have been tasked to make sure Big Show doesn't make it to the main event. On that same episode of Smackdown, Chyna regains the Women's Championship from Lita and will defend it against Trish Stratus.
