Event: AJPW Summer Impact Series - Day 2 Date: Tuesday, September, Week 1, 1998Attendance: 3,100 (NO VACANCY!) Show Rating: 81 B
The show starts off as per usual with the NTV sports march blasting
In a bout that had good heat and decent wrestling, Nobuhiko Takada defeated Takao Omori in 18:10 by pinfall. Rating: 72 B- Post Match
Takeda walks up to a defeated Omori and walks over to the corner where Gedo and Jado are stationed and pulls out a shirt?
It's a Sternness Shirt!!! Takada takes a mic and looks at Omori.
"You might have thought Jun had forgotten about your partnership, and that long All Asia Tag Title run, but trust me, he hasn't. He didn't know if you want to join us, so he enlisted me to ask you to become a member of Sternness."
The crowd begins to rain down boo's as Takada continues to hold the shirt out to Omori, Omori looks conflicted but eventually takes the shirt and looks around. Omori nods to himself before quickly slipping on the shirt and shaking Takada's hand and walking out with him!!!
Jun Akiyama's former tag partner is now an official member of Sternness!!!
In a good match, Holy Demon Army (Toshiaki Kawada, Masanobu Fuchi and Masao Inoue) defeated Stan Hansen, Vader and Johnny Ace in 17:19 when Toshiaki Kawada defeated Johnny Ace by pinfall with a Backdrop Driver.
Rating: 81 B
Another lose for Hansen, he has not gotten literally any momentum going since the Dome show a couple months back. Instead of wrestling out in annoyance, Stan rushes at Kawada after the match!!! Kawada and Hansen have a bit of a pull apart brawl until they both find their way to the back. Hansen boinks a few of the security with his cow bell. The rest of the people involved in the match have zero idea what to make of this and just walk out after a hard fought match. The loses have clearly gotten to Hansen and he just took it out on one of the biggest stars in AJPW!!! Not to say Stan isn't a star himself, he clearly is, but taking it out on Kawada was definitely not the smartest move!
In a bout that had good wrestling and a decent reaction from the crowd, Kenta Kobashi and Tsuyoshi Kikuchi defeated Gedo and Jado in 8:57 by stoppage when Jado could not continue. Rating: 77 B
Post Match
Kobashi's eyes are lifeless as he keeps raining down forearm shots to the temple of Jado, Wada has already called the match but Kobashi won't stop!!! Kikuchi grabs ahold of him and Kobashi fight or flight kicks in and he throws Kikuchi over and almost hits him with a big punch before his senses kick back in as he realizes it's his close friend. Kobashi shakes his head and stumbles out of the arena after a very decisive victory. Jado is helped to the back by Gedo.
In a bout that had good wrestling and a decent reaction from the crowd, Akira Taue defeated Takeshi Morishima in 17:21 by pinfall with a Nodowa Otoshi.
Rating: 81 B
The two men simply shacked hands and left the ring peacefully with their faction, Taue applauded the young Morishima for his effort.
In a bout that had great wrestling and good heat, Super Generation Army (Mitsuharu Misawa, Hayabusa and Yoshinari Ogawa) defeated Sternness (Jun Akiyama, Owen Hart and Tamon Honda) in 21:44 when Mitsuharu Misawa defeated Tamon Honda by pinfall with a Tiger Driver.Rating: 82 B
Post Match
Before Sternness is able to do there usual post match assault, the Super Generation Army is able to get away after another decisive victory over Sternness.
Akiyama stumbles out holding his Triple Crown close as Owen helps Honda out of the arena.
For now the 2nd time in his title reign, Akiyama looks defeated by Mitsuharu Misawa, could the ace take his Triple Crown back only months after losing it?

Press Conference to announce matches for Finale of the Summer Impact Series!
Giant Baba would step into the room, smiling at the reporters and speaking clearly into the mic to announce the card.
"Hello everybody! I have came here today to announce all the matches for the final day of the Summer Impact Series that will be held in the Nippon Budokan! The Main Event will be, Jun Akiyama vs. Mitsuharu Misawa for the Triple Crown Heavyweight Championship! in the Co-Main it will be Toshiaki Kawada vs. Stan Hansen in a Special Singles match! before that it will be, Kenta Kobashi and Tsuyoshi Kikuchi vs. Gedo and Jado for the All Asia Tag Team Championship before that match, we will see Hayabusa vs Masanobu Fuchi for the World Junior Heavyweight Championship the match before that will be, Akira Taue and Masao Inoue vs. Owen Hart and Nobuhiko Takada in the second match on the card it'll be, Steve Williams and Yoshihiro Takayama vs. Johnny Ace and Vader in the opener it will be Takeshi Morishima vs. Tamon Honda!
Thank you all for coming, we hope to see you at the Nippon Budokan!"
(Rundown of the card for easy copy and paste pick em's!) Jun Akiyama (c) vs. Mitsuharu Misawa for the Triple Crown Heavyweight Championship! Toshiaki Kawada vs. Stan Hansen Jado and Gedo (c) vs. Kenta Kobashi and Tsuyoshi Kikuchi for the All Asia Tag Team Championship Hayabusa (c) vs. Masanobu Fuchi for the World Junior Heavyweight Championship Akira Taue and Masao Inoue vs. Owen Hart and Nobuhiko Takada Steve Williams and Yoshihiro Takayama vs. Johnny Ace and Vader Takeshi Morishima vs. Tamon Honda
After Baba announces the card, he allows the 2 main eventers to walk in, Jun Akiyama and Mitsuharu Misawa.
Akiyama has learned from his previous press conference and sits down at the table beside Misawa.
The press would begin to ask the 2 men questions.
"Akiyama, you have been defeated by Misawa multiple times throughout this tour, how do you plan to defeat him to retain your Triple Crown?"
"I have my ways of retaining my title, and Misawa himself doesn't need to know those ways, but I'd sure love to give him an Exploder to retain my belt."
Misawa giggles to himself as Akiyama looks over at him.
"Huh, whats so funny you old ****? You expect me to not drop you on your damn neck just like I did to Kobashi? He beat you handily and I'll do the same."
Misawa would pick up his mic and look at Akiyama.
"You are so cocky for a spoiled brat who got handed everything by a wrestler who is 100 times the man you are, and then you had to cheat to beat him when you learned every attack and move he had Akiyama. It took Kobashi over 40 minutes to defeat me, and we were both beat up after that match, you Akiyama, you got your ass kicked for 35 minutes, had your faction distract the ref, kicked Kobashi in the balls and stole his title. I'm winning it back so he can have his fair rematch that you'll never give him. That's all I have to say to you, spoiled brat."
Misawa would leave as Akiyama would look at the press and stomp out in annoyance. Akiyama is clearly pissed and he's gonna do whatever it takes to prove Misawa wrong.
