SD PPV
Theme: "Crossing Borders" by Rey Mysterio
Sunday Night Heat WWE Women's Title
Victoria (C) vs. Molly Holly with Steven Richards Winner: Victoria at 7:35 by DQ
Result: Victoria and Molly trade lock-ups for a bit. Eventually, Victoria goes for the Widow's Peak, but Steven distracts the ref. Victoria lets it go, but Steven gets down before she can strike. Molly blindsides Victoria and works on the arm. Eventually, Molly goes for a Molly Go Round, but Victoria moves. Victoria starts taking her down with one arm. She manages to even hit her Spinning Side Slam. Victoria goes a Widow's Peak, but can't hit it due to her arm. Molly reverses it into a neckbreaker. Molly goes for her own Widow's Peak, but Victoria reverses it into her own, despite having one arm. Steven rushes in and drags Victoria off the pin, the ref calling for the bell.
Afterwards, Steven hits a Steven Kick and Steven DDT to Victoria. He and Molly then hit a Hart Attack like move but with a Molly Go Round. As Steven gets the title from Tony, Molly hits a Widow's Peak to Victoria. They go for a shot with the title to Victoria, but Trish Stratus' music plays and she runs out to even the odds, but Molly and Steven head off before anything else can happen.

WWE Tag Team Titles in a 3 on 2 Handicap Match
The Basham Brothers (Doug and Danny Basham) (C) and Shaniqua vs. Rikishi and Scotty Too Hotty
Winners: Rikishi and Scotty Too Hotty at 6:38
Result: This match is virtually the same as real life. A minute got cut from it, so a bit of the heat is trimmed down, but otherwise the ending stays the same. Scotty manages to take down both Doug and Danny with a double clothesline from the apron. This leaves Rikishi in with Shaniqua. She tries her damndest to scoop him up, but Rikishi rolls out of it into a Samoan Drop. He ends it with a Banzai Drop to win the tag titles.
------------------ Before the next match, a vignette plays detailing how we got here.
Mixed Tag Team Match
Jamie Noble and Jazz vs. X-Pac and Nidia
Winners: Jamie Noble and Jazz at 5:25
Result: Noble is hellbent on making it Nidia and Jazz, allowing Jazz the ability to overpower Nidia throughout the match. Nidia manages to scoop out of it periodically, getting Pac in and allowing Pac to take it to Noble with high moves and strikes. Unfortunately, in a reverse of the ladies, Noble is able to get out of what Pac has to tag into Jazz, forcing Nidia to take more offense. Eventually, Nidia reverses out of a scoop slam to try and tag in Pac, but Noble makes his way over to Pac's side, pulling him off and back first into the barricade. Noble then hits a Tiger Bomb onto the floor. This leaves Nidia alone in the ring with Jazz. Nidia turns around into a harsh clothesline. Jazz ends it with a powerbomb in the middle of the ring.
Afterwards, Noble locks in a Guillotine Choke to Nidia, relishing in her pain. Pac makes his way in despite the pain of his back to break it up, so Noble and Jazz flee, smiles on their faces.
------------------ Before the next match, we get a replay of Angle being attacked last Thursday and Angle getting revenge on Steiner and Cena. We then cut to an interview where Josh Matthews asks Angle about "why" he attacked Steiner and Cena last Thursday. He explains why he did it, obviously. Cena appears and mock Kurt. He tells Kurt if he wanted to knock his ass out, he'd do it right to his face before slapping him. The two start brawling until security intercedes.
We then get a vignette detailing how we got to the next match.
After that, we head to a nearby bar. Faarooq drives up first. He enters the bar and immediately orders a round for the whole place, much to their pleasure. Outside, JBL's white limo pulls up. The driver opens the back door and lets JBL out. He takes off his cowboy hat, dress jacket, and raises the sleeves on his dress shirt. But once he enters, the referee gets them separated long enough before letting them go.
Bar Room Brawl
John "Bradshaw" Layfield vs. Faarooq
Winner: John "Bradshaw" Layfield at 5:17
Result: It's a brawl in a bar. You've seen one, you've seen 'em all. Bottles break, beer is spilled, pool cues are smashed, tables are broken, they're sent in and out of cheap bathrooms, it's absolute chaos. Faarooq sends JBL face first into a stain glass decoration behind the bar, busting him open. Faarooq catches a fleeing JBL, going for a spinebuster onto a pool table, but JBL spits some beer in his face. JBL rips his dress shirt off, smashing Faarooq in the head with some pool balls. JBL then hits a Powerbomb to him through a table, but the ref doesn't call it. The two continue brawling, eventually ending with Faarooq spearing JBL through the front door. The two brawl outside with minimal lighting, leading eventually to JBL's limo. Faarooq goes for a Dominator, but JBL gets out of it. He grabs some pebbles on the ground, tossing them into Faarooq's eyes. JBL rips the horns off his limo and hits Faarooq with a powerbomb onto it. The ref calls it there.
Afterwards, JBL tosses Faarooq off the front of his limo before telling the driver to get him out of there.
------------------ Before the next match, we head backstage where Matt and DDP are giving an interview with Josh Matthews. It's about their match and how Matt and DDP have found an agreement with each other. Matt has turned over a new leaf and Page is here to support Matt. They're aware that they could be leaving SmackDown! tonight, but that Matt is willing to put his job on the line for revenge. Page tells Matt to clear his head and think about nothing but victory, because tonight, The World's Greatest Tag Team becomes The World's Fired Tag Team.
Losers Leave SD
The World's Greatest Tag Team (Shelton Benjamin and Charlie Haas) vs. Matt Hardy and Diamond Dallas Page
Winners: The World's Greatest Tag Team at 6:20
Result: Matt and DDP give Shelton and Charlie some good shine, but after Charlie dodges a discus lariat by Page, he nails a German Suplex to him. Shelton and Charlie take it to Page for the bulk of the match. Eventually, they go for an Amateur Hour, but Page dodges the flying bulldog from Shelton, getting a victory roll on Charlie. Page takes it to both men, giving them both clotheslines before getting the hot tag on Matt. Matt rips into Shelton and Charlie. He hits the Side Effect to Charlie for a two that Shelton breaks up. Page goes for a Diamond Cutter to Shelton, but he holds onto the ropes. Shelton hits a Superkick to Page, sending him out and over. Matt hits a Twist of Fate to Shelton, allowing Charlie to swoop in with the school boy and a left hand on the middle rope.
Afterwards, as Shelton and Charlie are walking away with smiles, Matt and DDP take a bit of time for a standing ovation before heading out themselves.
------------------ Before the next match, we see Hulk Hogan being escorted to ringside by some security. When he gets there, it doesn't take too long before Paul Heyman comes out. The SmackDown! GM warns Hogan that tonight, he is a fan, and if he ever crosses that barricade, he will be arrested as a fan. Hogan lets Paul talk, mocking him for a bit on it, until Brock Lesnar comes out. Brock ignores Paul's words, calling Hogan into the ring. After a bit of fan feedback, Hogan complies. When he enters, he rips his shirt off and he and Brock do a bit of shtick. Paul distracts Hogan, leading to Brock tackling him into the turnbuckle. Brock takes it to Hulk for a few moments before going for an F5. Hogan gets down and punches Brock a few times. Big Boot, Running Leg Drop. Hogan does some taunts before Paul sics the cops on him. Hogan is arrested as Paul and Brock stay in the ring, the latter recovering. Unfortunately, that's when Holly runs out for his match. Holly manages to keep Brock in, giving him a few right hands and then a Full Nelson. Paul smacks Brock in the back, so Holly goes for an Alabama Slam to him. Test and Show run out, beating on Holly as Brock and Paul make their way up the ramp. As the brawl continues in the ring, Kane's pyro goes off at the stage. Brock and Kane start trading blows until Test runs out to claim him. Paul and Brock get the hell out of dodge and when Kane and Test enter the ring, the match is officially under way.
WWE United States Title in a Fatal 4-Way Match
Big Show (C) vs. Kane vs. Test vs. Hardcore Holly
Winner: Big Show at 9:50Result: All four men beat the hell out of each other for nearly ten minutes. Show starts off with his power by taking out every man. He hits a Chokeslam to Holly, but Test breaks it up and starts taking everyone else down with strikes. Test hits a Full Nelson Slam to Holly and a Flying Elbow Drop to Show, but Kane breaks that up and then HE takes control. Sidewalk slams, Big Boots, Flying Clotheslines, all to another man. Kane hits a Chokeslam to Test, but Holly breaks it up with a chair. Holly uses the chair and blasts every man in the head with it. Holly hits an Alabama Slam to Test onto the chair. On a two, Show pulls Holly out of the ring. He then hits a Chokeslam to Holly through the uncleared Spanish announce table. Kane hits a Flying Clothesline to Show to the outside. Those two start brawling, allowing Test to hit a dive over the top to both men. Test grabs Holly and throws him in. Test slaps his leg, going for the Big Boot. Holly ducks it, locking in a Full Nelson. Test tries to fight out of it, but it's Kane who comes in and chokes Holly. Chokeslam to Holly. Show enters and pulls Kane off. Kane and Show brawl for a bit. Test and Holly brawl as well. Test hits a Pump Handle Slam to Holly, but goes for Kane and Show. Test throws the Big Boot, but it hits Kane, sending him out of the ring. Test turns around and ducks a clothesline from Show. He goes for another Big Boot, but Show dodges it, sending Test crotch first on the top rope. Show locks in a choke, hitting a Chokeslam to Test from the apron onto a standing Kane on the outside. Show turns around and grabs the chair that Holly tries to hit him with. Show kicks Holly in the gut and blasts him with a stiff chair to the head. One final Chokeslam to Holly onto the chair is enough for Show to claim victory.
------------------After a commercial for the DVD "The Monday Night War" as well as SmackDown!, we get a vignette detailing how we got to the next match.
Before we get to the match proper, the lights in the arena go out for a few moments and a video plays featuring little girls and burning effigies and clips of similar things interspersed with Goldberg reacting to these similar promos. It's definitely a return promo for The Undertaker in 28 days at WrestleMania XX.
WWE Cruiserweight Title
Rey Mysterio (C) with Jorge Paez vs. Chavo Guerrero with Chavo Classic
Winner: Chavo Guerrero at 17:21
Result: It really makes these easier when it's the same match as real life. This will definitely be less common as things go on, but for now, the ending comes when Rey climbs up. Chavo distracts the ref, allowing Classic to grab Rey by the mask and hot shot him. Chavo follows-up by school boying Rey and hooking the tights.
------------------ After a commercial for the new DVD "Mick Foley's Greatest Hits and Misses", the Chavos are backstage. They try to approach Eddie's locker room when Josh Matthews rushes up to get an interview. Chavo proved that he's better than Rey, he's better than Jorge, and he's better than "Uncle Eddie." He calls himself "the real champion" and says Eddie is a loser and a failure, and he always will be. Just like his good friend on Raw, Chris Benoit, Eddie is going to come so close...but come second place.
Following that, we get a Tale of the Tape of the men in the following match.
Triple Threat Match Where the Winner Gets a Shot at the World Heavyweight Title at WrestleMania
Kurt Angle vs. John Cena vs. Scott Steiner
Winner: Kurt Angle at 9:02
Result: Kurt and Scott trade suplexes for the first bit of the match. When Kurt sees that Cena is just in the corner, congratulating them, Kurt slaps Cena back. The two trade blows until Angle hits a German Suplex to him. Scott comes in with a clothesline that takes Kurt down. Scott does his elbow drop, push-up thing for a one before hitting a butterfly suplex onto Kurt. Scott goes hits a belly to belly suplex to Cena before going for a reverse STO to Kurt. Kurt fights out of it and hits a snap suplex to Scott. Kurt gets up and goes for a belly to belly of his own to Cena, sending him over the top. Kurt goes for a German Suplex to Scott, who holds onto the ropes. Scott keeps the ref close, allowing him to mule kick Kurt down low. Steiner locks in the Steiner Recliner, but Cena runs in and hits a bulldog to Scott. Cena hits his spinning back suplex. Kurt gets up, so Cena hits him with one too. Cena does the double dusting of his shoulder and hits a double 5 Knuckle Shuffle to both men. Cena waits a bit before going for an FU to Scott, who gets up first. Kurt gets up and kicks Cena in the gut, forcing Scott down. Angle goes for an Angle Slam to Cena, who gets out of it, going for an FU to him next. Scott hits a Reverse STO to Cena while Angle is still in the fireman's carry. Scott goes for the pin, but Kurt breaks it up. Scott and Kurt trade blows until Scott ducks a clothesline from Kurt. He hits a clothesline of his own. When Cena gets up, he takes a clothesline as well. Scott gets out and grabs his lead pipe from under the ring. He smacks it against the apron, steel steps, and turnbuckle post before reentering. He goes for a shot to Kurt, who ducks it, having it hit Cena. Kurt goes for an Angle Slam, but Scott gets out if, hitting a pipe to Kurt's gut as well. Scott then hits a chop block to Cena with the pipe. Scott taunts for a bit, going for Angle, who back body drops Scott and the pipe out of the ring. Angle then hits an Angle Slam to Cena, netting a two. Angle lowers the straps and locks in the Ankle Lock. Cena tries to kick out of it once, but Angle holds on, wrenching it in. Scott grabs the pipe and gets on the apron. Cena rolls through, sending Angle into Scott and sending the latter back to the floor. Angle turns around into an FU, but it nets a two as well. A limping Cena goes for another FU, but Angle reverses it into a sunset flip and then an Ankle Lock. Cena tries to get to the ropes a couple times, but Angle pulls him back and grapevines it. Despite his best efforts, Cena has to tap out.
------------------ We get a commercial for WWE Originals before heading backstage. Cena is limping backstage when he runs into Show. The two start arguing for a few moments about Cena's spot and Show's champion status. Cena lets out a sigh and says "I guess we're doin this" before starting to attack. Show eventually boots at Cena's hurt ankle. He taunts Cena one more time before heading out with evil laughter. Cena is frustrated, and we leave him be as EMTs want to check on him.
After that, and following a quick Tale of the Tape, we get a vignette detailing how we got to the next match.
World Heavyweight Title
Brock Lesnar (C) vs. Eddie Guerrero
Winner: Eddie Guerrero at 28:55
Result: Once again, the match itself is the same match as real life, with an elephant sized difference that cuts the match by a minute. After an errant F5 takes the ref out and Eddie is down, Brock exits the ring and grabs the World Heavyweight Title. When he enters the ring, he looks ready to strike, but we hear that familiar theme music.
It plays for good minute and a half with Brock waiting for Hulk. But nobody comes out. And eventually, the song fades away. After Brock shakes his head and laugh, he turns around. He is nailed with a low blow by Eddie. Brock drops the belt. Eddie goes for a suplex, but Brock holds on. He rolls out of it into a fireman's carry. Brock goes for an F5, but Eddie reverses it into a DDT onto the title. Eddie climbs up and hits a Frog Splash for the three count.

WrestleMania XXLive from Madison Square Garden in New York City, New York
Co-Branded PPV
Theme: "Step Up" by Drowning Pool and "Touche" by Godsmack
Sunday Night Heat Matt Anoa'i, Mark Henry, and Rodney Mack with Theodore Long vs. Billy Kidman, Paul London, and Brian Kendrick
- Billy Kidman returned to action earlier this year and immediately found himself allying with Paul London. Similarly, Brian Kendrick was also brought back to join up and Billy Kidman found himself mentoring the two men who quickly became something of a tag team. Billy considered them more a trio act, even if Brian insisted he was more their mentor. Meanwhile, on Raw, Theodore Long's Thuggin 'n' Buggin Enterprises has found themselves on the downward spiral. Constant losses with no breaks has found things turning sour for them. Both trios approached their respective GMs looking for spots on the show. Unfortunately, the card was finalized and there was little they could do. It was Bischoff who proposed to Heyman that he pick a team of 3 who would dare challenge his team of 3 on Heat, just to get a little Raw vs. SmackDown! vibe going into the show. Heyman agreed, and Kidman saw his team's chance. Heyman reluctantly agreed, and this match was made official for Heat.
Main Card
WWE United States Title
Big Show (C) vs. John Cena
- Ever since their interaction at No Way Out, Cena has decided that his new target is Show's US Title. Show didn't take too kindly to this, and Heyman told Cena to prove he deserved a shot at the title. After Show defeated Hardcore Holly in a Last Man Standing Match (that took Holly out of action), Cena promptly humiliated Show, dousing him with trash and parading his luggage (with humiliating and comedically large items) for the crowd. Heyman wasn't convinced, and booked Cena against The Basham Brothers. Cena promptly defeated them, but after a low blow by Shaniqua, Show came out and hit a Chokeslam to Cena three times. One in the rock, one through the announce table, and a third one onto the exposed concrete. Heyman announced Cena would get his title match at WrestleMania. Can Cena topple the giant on his way to his first taste of gold? Or will Big Show start off the night with a HUGE win?
Christian vs. Chris Jericho
- For months now, the friendship between Christian and Chris Jericho has been on a downward spiral. It started back in December when Jericho had used his favor from Bischoff to get a handicap match with RVD. In the match itself, Jericho took the brunt of offense, allowing Christian to swoop in and get the victory at his "best friend's" expense. Meanwhile, Christian used his favor (that Jericho thought they both used against RVD) to get a title shot against Randy Orton and his Intercontinental Title. The match ended in disaster when Jericho tried to help Christian, only for the ref to see him hitting Orton. Christian was devastated, and it never recovered from there. Despite putting on an act of still being allied and good friends, Bischoff was visibly annoyed at Jericho. Christian wanted to make amends, and managed to get them a shot at the World Tag Team Titles. They faced Booker T and RVD a week after they won them, and unfortunately, it was Jericho saving his friend that cost them everything. Jericho tagged in Christian mid-way as he ran into a Book End. Jericho tried to end it soon after, but a Scissors Kick and Five Star Frog Splash put an end to it. Afterwards, the two hugged and seemed okay...until Christian kicked Jericho down low and piefaced him away in an act reminiscent of what Y2J did to HBK a year before at WrestleMania XIX. Christian went to Bischoff and demanded this match, something Eric was happy to give him. Over the next couple weeks, Jericho was distraught, and hosted the Highlight Reel in an attempt to get Christian to reconsider. He has a bunch of masked dudes looking like superheroes, all sporting "Captain Charisma" on their jackets. Christian responded by insulting Jericho, calling him a dead weight and a blight on Captain Charisma's career. Jericho seemed devastated, only to reveal that it was a ruse. The masked dudes revealed themselves to be The Dudleys and The Hardys. They trapped him in the ring as Jericho beat the dickens out of Christian. Christian managed to escape after finding a hole in the action. Will Jericho gain his revenge on his former best friend? Or will Christian prove everyone right that he was always the bigger star than Y2J?
WWE World Tag Team Titles in a Tables, Ladders, and Chairs Match
Booker T and Rob Van Dam (C) vs. The Dudley Boyz (Bubba Ray Dudley and D-von Dudley) vs. The Hardy Boyz (Jeff and Matt Hardy) vs. La Resistance (Rene Dupree and Robert Conway)
- Booker T and Rob Van Dam were put to task against Evolution's Ric Flair and Batista. They would team together for the first time ever in order challenge for the World Tag Team Titles. Despite the odds not being in their favor, they managed to unseat Evolution to become the new champions. The following week, Bischoff made a Fatal 4-way Tag Match between these four teams. La Resistance had long since been looking for gold back, and The Dudley Boyz were always itching for a fight. The story lied with The Hardy Boyz. After being fired from SmackDown!, Jeff convinced Bischoff to sign Matt to a contract and reunite The Hardy Boyz. Their inclusion in this match was a surprise to the fans, but a welcome one for sure. However, Vince stepped in and raised the stakes even higher. Since it's "where it all begins again" and two of the teams were famous for making one specific match at WrestleMania famous, he made it a Tables, Ladders, and Chairs Match. La Resistance protested it in order to get it changed, but Bischoff couldn't overrule Vince's call. Despite this, La Resistance held themselves up when they defeated The Dudley Boyz in a Tables Match two weeks prior to WrestelMania. Similarly, Booker T and RVD managed to successfully defend their titles against The Hardy Boyz in a Ladder Match on that same night. This culminated in a Fatal 4-way Chairs Match on the go-home show of Raw. RVD faced Bubba, Jeff, and Rene, and in the end, it was Jeff who managed to secure the victory. Can The Hardys ride their momentum to regain the World Tag Titles? Or will The Dudleys recapture their gold in their hometowns? Perhaps La Resistance will secure what they've been looking for? Or maybe Booker T and RVD can climb the ladder and grab the titles to keep their reigns intact?
3 on 2 Handicap Match
Evolution (Batista, Randy Orton, and Ric Flair) vs. The Rock 'n' Sock Connection (Mick Foley and The Rock)
- Since June of last year, Randy Orton and Mick Foley have had problems, to say the least. Orton punked Foley out, kicking him down some Madison Square Garden stairs. Cut forward by six months, and Foley was announced as the new co-GM of Raw, replacing a recently fired Steve Austin. Foley made Orton's life less than fun, but still was there to count the three when it mattered, earning Orton the Intercontinental Title. Unfortunately, good things didn't last. Orton pissed Foley off so much that the two agreed to meet in the main event of the post-Armageddon Raw. They never had the match, as Foley instead walked out. He left the arena, got his stuff, and exited the arena, but not before an almost betrayed Orton put the final nail in the coffin by spitting in Foley's tear-stained face. JR and King were at a loss, and even JR was willing to lay things to rest, calling Foley a coward at the Royal Rumble where Evolution bought Foley a front row ticket for. In the Rumble Match itself, somebody took out Chuck Palumbo, and Austin made whomever it was take his place. One entry passed, and Foley suddenly came out! "He's not a coward" shouted JR! Foley eliminated himself and Orton before the two brawled indecisively around ringside. In the weeks to come, Foley and Orton couldn't stop brawling, until Foley said he'd stop if he got Orton and Evolution at WrestleMania. Orton says that Foley wants that WrestleMania moment more than anything, so Orton tells him to find somebody willing to share that with him when they ultimately get their legends killed...by Evolution. Foley spent a week finding a partner, and when it looked like Foley, Benoit, and HBK might into an 8-Man Tag main event without the numbers by their side, it was revealed that The Rock was Foley's partner! The Rock 'n' Sock Connection is back! Even as Rock got the pin over Flair that night, things didn't look high for the newly reunited duo. Evolution beat them both up backstage and in the ring the following week. On the go-home show of Raw, Orton and Foley had a heart-to-heart. Batista and Flair came out to try and cut Rock off, but Rock came out with a chair. In the ring, Foley also had a chair, and beat on Orton a bit with it. With Evolution licking their wounds heading into this match, can the newly reunited team of Foley and Rock conquer Raw's dominant force? Or will Evolution utilize the numbers game and walk out the winners?
6-Man Elimination Match for an Open Contract for a World Title Match
Diamond Dallas Page vs. Kane vs. Chuck Palumbo vs. Test vs. Kevin Nash vs. John "Bradshaw" Layfield
- Bischoff and Heyman met with Vince to discuss WrestleMania. Vince said he had an idea for opportunity. A match with six people, three from Raw, three from SmackDown!. They will meet in an elimination match where the winner could challenge for the World Title of their respective brands whenever they saw fit. Bischoff and Heyman agreed, bringing in more of that brand warfare and bragging rights. Raw's newest acquisition DDP beat Rodney Mack, Chuck beat his old partner Billy Gunn, and Nash beat A-Train all to qualify for this match. Kane defeated Scott Steiner, Test defeated Faarooq (and promptly took him out), and JBL defeated a clearly wounded Hardcore Holly (coming off the heels of his Last Man Standing Match). On the go-home episode of Raw, all six men met in the ring to talk about why they were going to win, but of course, things broke down with the faces getting one over on the heels. On the following SmackDown!, they met in a six man tag match that broke down pretty easily. Kane ended up the one on top. Can Kane ride this momentum to earn this open contract? Will DDP use his newest show as a springboard to bigger and better things? Maybe Chuck Palumbo can find his way to beating these former champions? Or perhaps Test will see this as his chance to break through to the next level? How about Kevin Nash looking to return to the top? Or maybe JBL will be able to win this match and become the person he claims he's destined to be?
Cruiserweight Open for the WWE Cruiserweight Title
Chavo Guerrero (C) with Chavo Classic vs. Ultimo Dragon vs. Funaki vs. Jamie Noble vs. Nunzio vs. Rey Mysterio vs. Shannon Moore vs. Tajiri with Akio vs. vs. The Hurricane vs. X-Pac
- Paul Heyman introduced the concept of the Cruiserweight Open in order to give the Cruiserweights the spotlight they deserve. Heyman announced the participants and the rules. Chavo did everything he could to weasel out of this match, but Heyman refused, citing this as a good opportunity to showcase his talents on the grandest stage of them all. Chavo was furious, even as he lost a match to Rey that same night, Ultimo Dragon the following one, and X-Pac on the go-home show. Which of these ten Cruiserweights can survive the odds and walk out the Cruiserweight Champion?
Goldberg vs. The Undertaker
- At Survivor Series, Raw's monster, Goldberg, buried The Undertaker alive. Goldberg never explains his actions even as he continued to topple and conquer everybody put in his path, all cemented with a "checkmark". At the Royal Rumble, Goldberg entered last and was looking to be the one to win it all. Unfortunately, the lights turned blue and a gong struck. Goldberg was distracted enough to be eliminated. In the weeks following, Goldberg continued to destroy anybody put in his path, but after the match, signs starting showing of what was to come. Bischoff asked Goldberg if he wanted to do this, and Goldberg merely smiled and laughed. Bischoff reluctantly accepted the match for what it was going to be. Can Goldberg culminate his run in the WWE by defeating the Phenom on his home turf? Or will The Undertaker be the one to slay the monster and continue his impressive streak at WrestleMania?
WWE Tag Team Titles in a Fatal 4-Way Tag Team Match
Rikishi and Scotty Too Hotty (C) vs. The Basham Brothers (Doug and Danny Basham) vs. The World's Greatest Tag Team (Charlie Haas and Shelton Benjamin) vs. Scott Steiner and Rhyno
- Seeing what Bischoff had announced, Heyman announced a similar Fatal 4-way Tag Match for Rikishi and Scotty's Tag Team Titles. The four teams were at odds with each other for the last two weeks, participating in dancing contests, eating contests, arm wrestling contests, and even amateur wrestling. That was where things broke down, with Steiner, Rhyno, and The Bashams refusing and suddenly it was a huge brawl between them. Heyman made a tag team match on the go-home show where Rikishi teamed with Shelton against Doug and Scott. Shelton was reportedly injured, so Rikishi went in alone. But it was all a ruse, and Rikishi and Scotty found themselves victim of a 6-on-2. But when tensions over who was going to be the champion began, Haas and Benjamin decided to save Rikishi and Scotty, attacking Steiner, Rhyno, and The Bashams. Things weren't good between the two teams left in the ring, but Haas and Benjamin handed them back their belts before leaving. Can the makeshift team of Steiner and Rhyno come out on top? Maybe Haas and Benjamin can use their newfound change in attitudes to regain the gold? Will the Basham Brothers be able to win the titles without their dominatrix at their side? Or will Rikishi and Scotty walk out of Madison Square Garden the same way they walked in: champions?
WWE Women's Title vs. Hair Match
Victoria (C) vs. Molly Holly
- At No Way Out, this rivalry intensified. In an already hectic affair, Steven Richards, Victoria's former follower, attacked her with Molly's help. They left her battered and wounded, only to be saved by Victoria's former rival and former friend Trish Stratus. The two made amends, and agreed to ally to stop the other two. Heyman couldn't give Molly another shot since she technically lost at No Way Out, so Steven proposed she put something up. Molly was hesitant, but Steven offered her hair as a prize if she loses. Molly was incensed, but Heyman accepted. Molly and Steven had trouble in the water, but agreed to team-up for a tag match against Victoria and Trish. Steven dealt with Trish (or moreso the opposite), allowing Molly to cheat to beat the champ. Trish told Steven that if he shows up at WrestleMania, she'll be right behind him. Right now, neither of them are set to be in their representative's corner, but who knows how long that will last? Can Molly keep her hair intact and walk out of WrestleMania the champion? Or will Victoria continue her near year-long reign in Madison Square Garden?
World Heavyweight Title
Eddie Guerrero (C) vs. Kurt Angle
- Eddie and Kurt walked out of the Rumble with nothing to show for it. Both men walked out of No Way Out with their matches set for WrestleMania, and what do you know, it's against each other for the World Heavyweight Title. The two interacted as friends, with both of them expecting a fun contest for WrestleMania, and that's how it stayed...at least until Eddie started showing some signs of his usual self. Kurt was hesitant to trust Eddie as a partner, given Eddie seemingly abandoned him a few times over the course of the following weeks. Eventually, Angle and Eddie confronted each other, and agreed to face Test and JBL in a tag match. Angle was torn between leaving Eddie high and dry and rescuing his friend, but opted for the latter. Eddie did not pay him back, seemingly too injured to rescue Kurt as he was left to a Big Boot and Clothesline from Hell for the loss. Afterwards, Eddie saved Angle from the two-on-one, and Angle was furious. It was Eddie who struck first, and the two brawled around ringside, only to be interrupted by agents. On the go-home show, Heyman and Eddie got into an argument, leading to Eddie agreeing to face Heyman later that night with his hands handcuffed behind his back. Heyman walked in, but seemed injured. Heyman said that since he couldn't compete, he was allowed a replacement. Queue Brock Lesnar coming out looking pissed. Eddie was still handcuffed, so Lesnar beat him down. Backstage, a camera caught Kurt watching it all. After a while, he was pissed and stormed the ring. Angle fought with Brock for a bit, eventually grabbing the Big Gold Belt. He went for Brock, who ducked, striking a still handcuffed Eddie and regretting it instantly. He turned around into an F5, leaving both men out. With tensions at an all time high, can Kurt defeat his supposed friend to regain the gold? Or will Eddie do what he does best and somehow sneak away keeping his title intact?
Steve Austin as Special Ref
Hulk Hogan vs. Brock Lesnar
- These two first met at Survivor Series, and tensions were high. They met again at the Rumble, and Hogan punked out Lesnar. Lesnar took this personally, and cost interfered later to F5 Hogan and cost him the Rumble Match. The two traded barbs back and forth, until eventually, Sheriff Austin, a man none too happy with either competitor, gave Hogan a front row ticket to No Way Out. Hogan showed up and he and Brock brawled. Hogan came out on top, but Heyman had him arrested. Later that night, Hogan's music played, distracting Lesnar, and ultimately leading to him losing the World Heavyweight Title. On the next night of Raw, Hogan revealed he had paid an anonymous person in production to do what they did. He and Austin disagreed on how cost Lesnar the title, with both men taking the fall for it. On the SmackDown! after, Lesnar was in the ring, on his knees, and begged and pleaded for Vince to give him Hulk Hogan. On the Raw after, Vince agreed, making the match official. Austin came out and gave Vince his dues for making it official. On the following SmackDown!, Hogan confronted Lesnar in the ring and the two brawled all throughout the arena and to the back, eventually leading to Lesnar fleeing in a car. On the Raw after, Lesnar and Hogan got into another scrap until Austin popped in to separate them. Vince promptly made Austin the official referee for the match. To prove his abilities, he refereed a match between Vince and Eric that same night. Austin watched as they fought up the ramp, leading to Lesnar coming in and hitting him with an F5. Lesnar than stole Austin's ATV. Austin appeared on the SmackDown! after, looking for revenge. He and Lesnar brawled with Hogan also getting involved. Austin hit a Stunner to Lesnar, leading into a Big Boot and Running Leg Drop. Hogan and Austin shook hands until Hogan hit a scoop slam and Running Leg Drop to Austin. Following Lesnar's aforementioned brawl with Eddie and Kurt, Lesnar stood tall until Hogan ran out and got some revenge, clotheslining him out of the ring. Austin appeared behind Hogan and hit a Stunner to him. With all these combustible elements involved, will Lesnar walk out of WWE with one final win over the Immortal one? Or will Hogan defeat Lesnar on the stage that he helped establish? And what sort of involvement will Austin have in all of this?
WWE Title in a Triple Threat Match
Triple H (C) vs. Shawn Michaels vs. Chris Benoit
- At the Royal Rumble, HHH and HBK went to a draw in their Last Man Standing Match. Later that night, Benoit won the Royal Rumble from #1 to earn a shot at the World Title. Unfortunately, with Heyman outright saying Benoit will never get another at the World Heavyweight Title, this left him no choice. When HBK was looking for a rematch, Sheriff Austin brought out Benoit, who was now a member of Raw and looking to take the WWE Title from Triple H! Both Benoit and HBK staked their claim on the title, and both men were well within their right to do so. A contract signing was set-up, with Benoit and HHH seemingly set in stone due to the Rumble. But Shawn Michaels came out and told Benoit that he needed to finish this thing with HHH, with no better place than WrestleMania. Benoit told him it wasn't going to happen, and took Sweet Chin Music for his efforts. HBK signed the contract under Benoit's name, leaving Bischoff distressed. Austin told Eric to figure out a challenger by the end of the night, or he'll have to answer to Sheriff Austin. Benoit and HBK faced off in the main event later that night, but Triple H popped in and distracted Benoit, leading to another Sweet Chin Music. HBK picked up the win, but HHH had the last laugh when hit both men with a Pedigree. Austin rolled out on his ATV and revealed Bischoff had made a decision, but was too afraid of HHH's response to announce it himself. "So for the first time...in history... the WWE Championship...will be decided...at WrestleMania...Madison Square Garden...March 14...in a Triple Threat Match! Triple H vs. Chris Benoit vs. Shawn Michaels!" The weeks started pouring in, with Benoit and HBK at odds with each other while Triple H stood by and smiled. Despite this, HBK and Benoit both coexisted long enough to defeat Evolution, if not officially, than by humiliating them a few times, including getting a win over Evolution teaming with The Rock 'n' Sock Connection. A match was between Batista and Flair and Benoit and HBK for the main event, with Triple H scheduled as the special ref. He was clearly siding with his teammates, until eventually, HBK had enough and hit him with Sweet Chin Music. Rock and Foley ran out to take out Flair and Batista, leaving Benoit in to lock in the Crossface on HHH. HBK interceded and hit Benoit with yet another Sweet Chin Music. HBK then locked in a Sharpshooter on Benoit. HHH interfered and started beating on HBK. Benoit popped in and Raw closed with the three men getting past security, referees, and agents to continuously attack the other. Will Benoit fulfill his dream and culminate his journey to become the WWE Champion? Will Shawn Michaels finally close this chapter on Triple H by beating him at WrestleMania? Or will HHH crush everyone's dreams by walking out of Madison Square Garden still the WWE Champion?
