The show starts off as per usual with the NTV sports march blasting
Marufuji took a big leap in this match in a sense, he got most of the offense and honestly if he didn't tag out, probably would've pinned the current Junior Champion in Kikuchi before the tag outs...

Backstage in the Budokan following the main event, we see an exhausted Jun Akiyama sitting in the locker room. Jun's been alone in the backstage for a few months now, isolated mostly due to his own accord, the draw with Kawada still heavy on the man's mind as from the corner of his eye he notices Naomichi Marufuji approaching him, still in his ring crew gear. Marufuji's hands are trembling, he looks uncertain and unsure as he takes a seat beside Jun.
"Misawa...what he did to Morishima. That wasn't the man who trained me...that was, a monster. He’s losing it, Jun. I don’t know what’s happening to him. I used to look up to him like he could do no wrong. But tonight...he didn’t care. He didn’t care about Morishima. He didn’t care about anyone, and no one can stop him?”
Jun is confused? Why is Marufuji coming to him? A man who betrayed everyone he cared about and got turned on himself. A man who couldn't beat Misawa's rival tonight, Jun has felt like a shell of the man who stood toe to toe with Misawa for 50 minutes beforehand and beat him.
"Don't know why you're coming to me about it? Hell he'd kill you if he saw you talking to me right now."
"That's why I came to you. You've beat him before, you CAN stand up to him again."
"Ain't that simple kid."
"Then who’s going to stand up to him? Who’s going to stop him from ruining this place? From ruining our home?"
"Not me, that's for damn sure. I already tried that with Sternness, look where it got me man? Sitting here all alone in the back trying to figure out where I belong now. Why not just have Kobashi beat him again? He put him down at the Carnival Finals. He put me down. He's the person you should be going to Marufuji. Not me."
"Kobashi's not doing so hot...I don't know if you can't see it, but that knee is gonna bust soon. He's been holding it up against you, against Misawa, but he's not gonna hold forever. If he falls, this place is gonna need you to take Misawa's down, and Misawa's gonna target Kobashi now, since he's got the tag belts with Ogawa, he's gonna want the Triple Crown."
"Yeah, he wants it back, and so do I-"
Marufuji cuts him off, trying to gain Jun's trust, to break down a concrete wall he's put around himself.
"Then I'll get you another Triple Crown Title Match! That's a promise!"
Jun's wall suddenly cracks, he'd refused to let anyone in for months, not old friends, not new people, but on this night, Marufuji's resolve, this ****ing kid's heart is enough to make him as Marufuji suddenly pulls the older man in for a hug, one that Jun accepts.

The Finish
This isn't the Misawa people are used too. He's vicious, violent, and uncaring for anybody's approval or praise tonight. Morishima, god bless em', is trying to fight through the chairmen's onslaught. But Forearm after Forearm, Morishima is turned into a bloody mess as Misawa instructs Ogawa to run interference. Misawa has Morishima finished...why is he picking him up?!
TIGER DRIVER 91 TO A DEFENSELESS MORISHIMA AS OGAWA HOLDS TAKAYAMA BACK.
One person on the outside in particular, a young Naomichi Marufuji holds his mouth agap watching Misawa's onslaught, this isn't the man who trained him, the man who brought AJPW to the heights it's at now. This is an unstoppable monster as Wada calls the match...
