Misawa is definitely the next in line to challenge for the Triple Crown and I also think he's the favorite if that title match happens. I'm curious to see how Jun and Marufuji's story develops, but I can see them becoming a team with Jun taking Marufuji under his wing like he was took under SGA's wing back in 1993. Kawada and Taue probably need some more wins before they could challenge... but they're probably in the right direction. I'm not that familiar with Otani and thought you could bring Ultimo Dragon due to his relation with CIMA, but I'm sure Otani is a great and more traditional addition.
By now you have a banging all-star roster and it shows. Look at THOSE RATINGS!

Event: AJPW Summer Action Series - Day 2 Date: Tuesday, August, Week 1, 1999 Attendance: 2,005 in Hadano City Gymnasium (NO VACANCY!!!)
Show Rating: 79
The show starts off as per usual with the NTV sports march blasting
In a decent match, Akira Maeda and Nobuhiko Takada defeated Jun Izumida and Jinsei Shinzaki in 7:42 by stoppage when Jun Izumida could not continue.
Rating: 63
In a bout that had a decent reaction from the crowd but sub-par wrestling, CIMA and Shinjiro Otani defeated Yoshinobu Kanemaru and Kentaro Shiga in 10:03 when Shinjiro Otani pinned Kentaro Shiga with a Dragon Suplex.
Otani continues to look great after his debut, CIMA is also wonderfully getting back on track.
Rating: 60
The lights fade out in the Gymnasium as we await whoever has been called upon to help the Triangle in their hour of need.
IT'S TERRY FUNK!!!!! THE FUNKER IS BACK IN AJPW!!! IT'S BEEN 8 YEARS SINCE HE'S STEPPED FOOT IN HERE!!! BUT HE'S BACK TO HELP THE TRIANGLE OF POWER!!!
In a bout that had good heat and decent wrestling, Yoshihiro Takayama, Steve Williams and Terry Funk defeated Holy Demon Army (Toshiaki Kawada, Akira Taue and Masanobu Fuchi) in 14:36 when Steve Williams pinned Masanobu Fuchi with a Backdrop Driver.
Bringing in Terry got the job done for the Triangle, finally giving them some positive momentum.
Rating: 73
In a decent match, Dynasty (Takao Omori, Owen Hart, Jado and Gedo) defeated Suzuki-Gun (Minoru Suzuki, Kazushi Sakuraba, Tomohiro Ishii and Masato Tanaka) in 17:41 when Takao Omori pinned Tomohiro Ishii with an Axe Guillotine Driver.
Omori and Suzuki butted heads post match and had to be pulled apart, these 2 do NOT like each other whatsoever.
Rating: 73
In a bout that had good heat and decent wrestling, Untouchables (Mitsuharu Misawa, Yoshinari Ogawa, Gary Albright, Hayabusa and Kurt Angle) defeated Kenta Kobashi, Osamu Nishimura, Tsuyoshi Kikuchi, Jun Akiyama and Naomichi Marufuji in 22:06 when Mitsuharu Misawa pinned Kenta Kobashi with a Tiger Driver.
Misawa got the pin. We all know where this is leading too.
Rating: 82
Post Match Misawa is standing over the corpse of Kobashi as he kneels over him, looking down at a man he passed to the touched too just months ago. Grabbing a mic.
"Summer Action Series Finale, you and me, Triple Crown."
Just as Misawa seems to leave, he does the unthinkable as he turns to stomp Kobashi knee until Jun steps in his way. A standoff between the 2 ensues as Kobashi stumbles to his feet before trying to throw a Lariat at Misawa to usher the group off, Misawa sidesteps him and sends him directly into Nishimura and Nishimura and Kobashi fall onto the mat with a brawl ensuing afterwards between the Untouchables and Burning. This is Burning again, as Akiyama fights side by side with Kobashi once more, however it's just too much with Kobashi injured, Nishimura clocked from the Lariat, the final shot of the show is the Untouchables standing atop of Burning, but at least Jun has reentered the group and Marufuji has seemingly joined the group...
Pick-Em Results Moore: 4/5 henriquesser: 4/5

Ooooh Funk is someone that can provide a really good short term boost to the Triangle of Power, no doubt!
It's great to see Kobashi and Akyiama's relationship coming full circle after such a big fallout. Unfortunately, it doesn't seem like they can cope with the ruthless side of Misawa right now, and I'm afraid the reign of terror could very well begin at the tour finale.

As far as the mystery man goes: my first thought was really Terry Gordy too, but thought that in 1999 his skills were widely diminished due to injury, so I scrapped that and thought of Ken Shamrock due to the legitimate background of the other members of the team. I didn't think of Funk, but I can see why he's there: he's still a big name and you'll probably use him as the fall guy of Triangle (Square?) of Power. Omori vs. Suzuki is having a traditional solid king's road build. It's going to be big when they finally have a singles match, even if there's no title involved. Misawa just made sure we understand he's really shifting his mentality. He's the biggest threat in AJPW now and I really think he'll take the belt from Kobashi. If he doesn't, Kobashi is solidified even further too, so... win-win situation. And I'm sure Akiyama will be next in line to face whoever gets out of the Finale as the champion. --- Btw, we only got 4/5 right. Both of us placed our chips on Suzuki-gun

I think I read it wrong when I going back over results. I wrote the show in advance then did pick em's afterwards when I was half awake so that's on me.

A particularly significant card that can be really unpredictable, I'm looking forward to this one. I'm predicting a particularly dominant night for the Untouchables and Suzuki-gun, but honestly I'm not sure what's going to happen.
